This 3 story log cabin in Big Bear Lake was built in 2008. With the front of the cabin overlooking the lake, and nothing but National Forest in the back, this space is an ideal retreat for summer relaxation, or winter fun. 10 minute walk to Boulder Bay, and easy access to Castle Rock trail from the backyard. Natural snow sledding area in the backyard, very private. This place is big; Five bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a great room for living/dining, and a foosball/children's area (1 pack n' play available upon request). A full kitchen, and a backyard grill will satisfy your cooking needs. The expansive second floor balcony is great for star gazing, and catching once in a lifetime meteor showers. Come and experience Big Bear as it should be done!
Cable TV/Wifi available.
Off-Season Pricing $400/night
The cabin is beautiful and the view was amazing. We had everything we needed to make some great meals for a large group. The rooms are very clean and there was plenty of room for everyone. It never felt crowded. Yes, there are LOTS of stairs but it was worth it. We would definitely like to come back and stay again when there's snow because the back yard seems like a great place to go sledding!
First and foremost: the pictures (while great) don't do the house justice. The kitchen is beautiful, with plenty of counter space. We cooked a big dinner, and had all the plates and cookware we needed (which is often a problem when renting). The beds were comfortable and each one was big enough to fit a couple easily (except for the room upstairs for kids, of course). I also have to highlight the view: the deck had a terrific view of the lake. The only negative (which I'm only including so people don't read this review skeptically): there are a TON of stairs leading from the street up to the house, and when there's snow on the drive way and you can't get your car up to the car park, so I wouldn't recommend this house (in the winter) with anyone with a disability. As for the owner, he was nice, attentive, and easy to rent from. I would love to stay here again, if the opportunity presents itself in the future!
Beautiful house with an awesome view of the lake! I rented with a group of friends and we had an amazing time! Michael was very helpful and gave clear instructions on everything we needed. Would love to visit again!
Stairway to Heaven is a really great spot to gather with family and friends. While the Cabin is rustic with a cozy feel, it has modern amenities and is very spacious. You can spend hours drinking coco and enjoying the fresh air and the view of Big Bear lake on the massive deck. The kitchen is stoked with necessities and the closets are empty. The host was very responsive to any concerns we had.

I went up to Big Bear for Labor Day weekend with a group of 14. Michael was so helpful and accommodating leading up to our trip and throughout; he was available to answer any of our questions. The cabin was everything we had hoped for and more! It has a huge balcony with a gorgeous view and a well-stocked kitchen (spices, utensils, pots/pans, etc. we cooked all of our meals there), and a spacious layout to accommodate everyone in our party. The backyard leads directly to an awesome hiking trail and the house is within close proximity to the grocery store and to where we rented our pontoon. Would definitely come back again, thanks Michael!
Our family needed a place to stay at short notice - we had less than 48 hours to find something. We had extended family visiting us and we were a party of five. We found Michael's place and it was by far the best combination of features, amenities, scenic views and space for our group. I think Michael's cabin can comfortably accommodate 11 guests.
The cabin was immaculate and well stocked with cooking facilities and a grill so we were able to cook out the back and enjoy the view of the lake out the front.
Michael's security system is set up so that he can let you in remotely, which was really convenient, as was his wifi, as I still had to do a little work. We also really enjoyed the Foosball table.
The cabin backs onto a State park, so our hikes literally began from their back door. I would definitely stay there again.
The house is very comfortable, the view is amazing, and the hiking out the back door is excellent. The stairs to the front door were challenging, but worth it. Michael was responsive during our visit. We could stay again.
We stayed in this wonderful cabin last weekend and it was amazing! There were a total of 11 in our group, and the layout is great because it allows plenty of room for privacy and really comfortable common spaces as well. The kitchen was big and stocked with utensils, spices, coffee maker...everything you'd need, just bring your own food. We made group dinners and sledded in the backyard and were just minutes away from snowshoeing. Highly recommend for a group, what a wonderful mid-winter getaway!
This place is great for friends gathering! Best view from terrace. Good location, just 15 mins from the snow summit and quiet neighborhood. Only thing you need to be super careful when you stay here for winter break is the stairways are very slippy ;P
Definitely will stay here in the next big bear trip ;D
