Large 3 story recently renovated historic home.
The house is in a quaint private courtyard, which is a minor tourist attraction. Betsy Ross walks through each day. While a little hard to find, it’s on a walking street, it's a quiet gem.

The neighborhood is great. I have lots of restaurant recommendations.
Old City has many art galleries, clothing boutiques, cafes and restaurants.
Just 2 blocks from Ben Franklin's house, the key on his famous kite came from the house across the courtyard, at least that is what the internet says.
There is easy access to public transportation. The subway is 2 blocks away, buses are even closer, and the regional rail is 6 blocks. It is a 15 min subway ride to Amtrak. The convention center is 7 blocks away.
Value for money
This place is amazing! the location can't be bit, the house is a gem and Russel a discreet yet very responsive guest. We couldn't have hoped for a better place. I wish to come and stay again. Thank you Russel!
My stay here was wonderful. The house is located in a great area, lots of independent stores and coffee shops with many historical buildings as well. The place place itself was very inviting and comfortable. Lastly, the kitten was awesome and really helped me relax after come home from a long day at the convention center *a little over a mile miles away.
This is my fifth stay using airbnb and this was my favorite. The location, the room, the tranquility and of course the kitty (I will miss her!)
I was in town for meetings at the convention center, which was a 15 minute walk from the house. The bed was comfortable. Turned out, I was sharing the bathroom with someone, which was unexpected, although not a big deal. The cat was pleasant. Saw Russ once shortly after my arrival, then not again–I was out early though.
Russ is really a great host. Very helpful. The house is in a beautiful court in the OLD CITY. Quiet and safe neighberhood. I enjoy my stay in Philly very much. Thanks!
About the Host, Russel
I enjoy living in Old City in Philly. It is a little village in the city with a great local ecosystem of coffee shops and cafes, tech companies and design, all of which I enjoy supporting.
I am a research scientist (biophysics) that travels extensively for work, which is fun, although I always enjoy returning home.
I enjoy running over the Ben Franklin bridge; the views are great and change throughout the day.
