This historic flat is in the heart of the Georgian New Town which is a UNESCO world heritage site. There are many stylish cafes, cool bars, and interesting restaurants in nearby Broughton Street. It is easy to hire a Just Eat bike and cycle to the nearby Botanic Gardens or cycle to Leith on the cycle tracks on the Water of Leith. I was born and brought up in Edinburgh - then lived in London and Hong Kong where I wrote about food. Since my return to Edinburgh over ten years ago, I made a television series called The Woman Who Ate Scotland - where I ate and cycled my way all round Scotland. I am still passionate about cycling - in fact the flat is on cycling route 75. I love to cook and am a qualified nutritionist and author of cookbook Eat Well published by Hachette. I run a food walking tour company in Edinburgh called Edinburgh Food Safari where I take guests on a whirlwind tour of 6 bars and restaurants covering a variety of Scottish cuisines from haggis to marshmallows with whisky and gin! (Website hidden by Airbnb) I share my flat with my physiotherapist boyfriend Mick and we both really enjoy being air bnb hosts and love recommending places for people to go and see and eat - and we look forward to making you welcome in my two-hundred year old home. :

During your stay
I work at home in the kitchen and also run food walking tours called Edinburgh Food Safari but am on hand for advice and help. I really enjoy meeting people and helping them discover the less known nuggets of Edinburgh - I leave a welcome pack on the bed with ideas of interesting things to see and do in Edinburgh plus an iconic Tunnocks teacake to welcome you to 1 Scotland Street.
