The Space

Beautiful furnished room in lovely old building in Berlin, Prenzlauer Berg area.

We, a well-travelled couple in their late 20s, welcome guests from all over the world in our beautifully renovated 2nd floor apartment in a friendly, safe and quiet area of "Prenzlberg", just north of Berlin Mitte (city center).

Our spacious 23 sq. m. (= 248 sq. ft.) guest room will be 'All Yours' for your stay. It's bright, with large windows (with curtains), high stuccoed ceiling and refurbished wooden floor. It faces a tree-planted alley with reduced traffic. It's quiet at night, with some morning traffic.

The room comes with an actually very comfortable Queen size pull-out sofa (high-quality 140cm / 55 inches mattress), optionally 2 additional small mattresses (70x200cm) for kids, armchair and a writing desk with chair. Sheets and covers and towel will be provided for your comfort.

You'll also find a small library with travel literature and Berlin travel guides which you can use for your stay. WIFI available.

Your room is part of a 110 sq. m. (= 1,200 sq. ft.) apartment, completely with wooden board flooring, high stuccoed ceilings and original old doors. It comes with a modern kitchen (fully equipped with oven, microwave, dish washer, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, table, chairs...) and bright bathroom (with shower / hot tub, washer and drier). You can use kitchen and bathroom, shared with us, the hosts.

The house is situated on a traffic-reduced, tree-planted alley, off Schönhauser Allee. It's quiet at night. There's a "Späti" (shop open until late, 7 days a week) next door, REWE supermarket 5 minutes away, a couple of restaurants, cafés and bars close by and many more excellent options at Schönhauser Allee in 10 minutes walking distance. We're happy to give recommendations. Public parks "Arnimplatz" and vibrant "Mauerpark" are just a few minutes away.

Conveniently located, with S-Bahn train stations Bornholmer Straße (10 minutes) and Schönhauser Allee (12 minutes) and tram station Björnsonstraße (6 minutes). Some long-distance trains stop at Berlin-Gesundbrunnen, which is 15-18 minutes by foot (or one S-Bahn stop).

Check-in on work days before 8am or after 5pm.

Strictly no drugs, no parties.
Keep the kitchen and bathroom clean.
Respect the privacy of the hosts.
No loud noise after 10pm please.

  • I had a overall good time, the apt is very nice clean and neat. The apt is also good located with approximately 10m walk to the train.
Based on the amenities I was expecting to share the living room area with a TV.
But I was wrong, cause I never felt invited in it. So i spent the entire stay in my bedroom.

The owners are very nice and courteous, but they keep a certain distance, which can be good or bad depending on your own personality and what you are looking for. As a solo traveler I could have used a bit more friendly guidance. It would have been nice, but maybe for others, that would be fine.

  • Flo & Kristin are the coolest hosts that have ever lived.

I've stayed with a lot of folks in my time and never enjoyed my experience as much as with these guys. They're cool. Super-cool. My worry for you is only that you're not cool enough for them.

We stayed for a month and quickly became housemates, and then friends. They're a social bunch and were really happy to have us join them and meet their friends. We shared beers and cooked dinner for each other. It really rocked.

It's a big, beautiful apartment. Great bed, bathroom, kitchen.

It's a 7 minute walk to the U-bahn and S-bahn. 15-minute walk to the call-a-bike (we used that most). They're not _in_ the hippest blocks or the tourist blocks, but it'(email hidden) to live, if you're looking to _live_, which you should.

If you're staying for a short time, they're obviously super-helpful and good at directing you towards bars/clubs, good sights to see, and know how to get around.

  • My boyfriend and I spent 3 nights at Florian and Kristin's home and wish we could've stayed longer! The room and apartment were wonderful...very spacious and clean, even better than the pictures. :) The neighborhood was great as well: we were right down the street from plenty of restaurants and shops, and getting to the city center was easy.

Florian (email hidden) - we mentioned that we were interested in the Berlin startup scene and he invited us to his office to meet his team, which was a wonderful opportunity. Also, when we first booked the room, we had to adjust the dates of our stay and the price went up slightly after re-booking, but Florian and Kristin were quick to offer a refund to reflect the original price. They were perfect hosts who went above and beyond to make the most of our stay, and we would recommend them to anyone!

  • Me and my wife Patricia stayed one month at Florian and Kristin's home. We just moved from Lisbon to Berlin to start new jobs, so we needed a place to stay before finding an apartment. As soon we arrived we were amazed with the space of the room and the apartment. Florian and Kris have a lovely taste in what comes to decoration and we were surprised with some of the details we found.
We had lots of amenities, cooking, dishwasher, washing/drying machine, fast internet connection, coffee machine, balcony, lots of markets and shops near, transports at fast walking distance. Everything was clean and tidy. As we were (email hidden) in Berlin we had to deal with same paperwork, we ask some directions to Florian and Kris and they were always always ready to help us. Everything went well, they became from hosts to friends for me and Patricia, and thanks to them our start in Berlin couldn't have been better. They treated us with very respect and kind, invited us to some parties and bars. We had great time to share lots of stories and culture. I strongly recommend and support the Harkort's in airbnb. See you guys around soon :-) Thanks for everything. Antonio and Paty
