A very cute couple especially Alice Mama! 너무 귀여워! =D We ate breakfast together with the couple in the kitchen, had dinner/supper together in the living room. I practiced a bit of my very bad Korean with her (aigoo). Sunny and Alice tells me interesting stories too! Would love to be back to visit someday to see lil 아가! Hohoho
My son and I stayed 6 days in Alice and Sunny's home. We did love the stay. It was so much better than we had hope'd for. We did come to like Alice and Sunny a lot as they open'd their home for us and did a lot to make us feel wellcome. Also they are very sweet people. The house is in a perfect place for sightseeing and we loved the korean food that Alice made for us. Thanks a lot :)
Alice's hanock is a very lovely and peaceful place. Alice and Sunny were both very kind and extremely helpful; giving us advice on how to find our way around the area as well as what to see & do. When I told her the things I was interested in doing, she looked up time schedules and maps and gave me great instructions on how to make it happen. Alice is a great cook and her traditional Korean breakfasts were always very tasty. They made us feel very comfortable at all times. If you ever come to Seoul, you must meet them and stay here. You will be glad you did.
This was a lovely stay in a traditional style home - we are so happy we chose this over a hotel or other experience. Alice was accommodating to our change in dates (airline trouble) and we could come and go as we pleased. Alice cooked us traditional Korean breakfast in the mornings and we ate Korean fried chicken one night. She and Sunny chatted with us and answered some questions about Korean culture (how do the street names work?!) and the conversation was easy. They are both down to earth and fun and seem to truly enjoy visitors.
The house set up allows for access to the bathroom through an outside covered courtyard after 11 pm. Not far, but it does require opening and closing three doors before you get to the bathroom, so if you're with a light sleeper or someone with a small bladder, consider that. Comfy mattress, nice blankies, and a beautiful room made this stay restful after long days of exploring.
Great location. Easy access to tour bus, bus to airport, and subway, and great walking in Hanok village. We loved our stay in this location!!
It's absolutely a nice experience with Alice' family during our trip in Seoul near this mid-autumn festival!
The hanok is just near the Changde-Gong, with bus station and subway. So it's convenient to get to other places you want to. The house is very clean and beautiful. And Alice and her husband are both kind and sincere, prepared the Korean traditional breakfast every morning (totally the different for each!!!) and help us to find the route to the place we want to go.
It's really suitable and great to be there if you want to know Korea!
We stayed with Alice and Sunny for eleven nights and couldn't have wished for better hosts! I wholeheartedly recommend them. We are very happy with our decision to stay in a Korean family, because how else would you learn so much about Korean culture (and Korean husbands, hehe)? Alice prepared an awesome Korean breakfast each day, I don't think we ate the same thing twice during our stay. Her house is in a quiet street next to one of the big palaces, a resonably short walk from the subway. The Bukchon area has many more Hanok houses for you to marvel at, and there is an abundance of restaurants in the area if you decide not to venture out very far for dinner. We'd love to come again, and we'd be delighted to meet them both again here in Germany in a few years :)
Alice and hier husband were so nice and kind. It was a lovely house in which we spent good Time. The Area is very nice And it is very convenient for the bus to the airport. Highly recommended.
Alice and her husband were wonderful hosts! She took us out to eat at a really delicious dukbokki place (dare I say one of the best meals I had in Korea, and I had a lot!), and we walked around and stopped by a tea house. Alice and Sunny (her husband) have excellent English, which made for some really fun conversations since our Korean is next to zero. The house is really cute and beautiful, and our room was comfortable and nice. The house is right in Bukchon traditional village, and is near major attractions in Seoul. Right within walking distance is Insa-dong and Samcheong-dong, which are very nice areas with cute tea shops and art shops to stop by. As you can see I'm running out of superlatives to compliment Alice, Sunny, the house and our experience there - but trust me, this will be one of the best places, if not the best place, you could possibly find in Seoul!
Alice and Sunny were the best hosts we could have asked for! They were both extremely friendly and hospitable - my friend had an ear infection and Alice kindly found an English-speaking ENT for us, called the clinic up and drew us a map to direct us there. We were only there for 2 nights but we had the opportunity to talk more to them over breakfasts~ They were very warm and willing to share with us about their own life experiences and offer suggestions on where we could travel to. We even had the opportunity to make kimbap together ^^ The hanok itself is very clean and comfortable. Altogether, it was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend anyone looking for an authentic hanok experience to stay here~
We stayed with Alice and Sunny for 4 days and we had a great time! The location of the house is very good, right across the street from the palace and within walking distance from many interesting site seeing spots. Alice and Sunny were lovely hosts: they were warm and welcoming, and helped us plan our stay in Seoul. Staying with them made our trip to Seoul very special and we'd love to visit again!
