Sky is a really nice guy, reliable (answers phone calls), considerate (the bedroom where you sleep is separated by a thin wall from the living room, and he turned the TV volume down while I was sleeping), and helpful (he even provided coffee in the morning and tea when I had a cold). We had some really nice late night conversations, and he didn't mind me smoking in the kitchen/living section of the room (as long as it wasn't too often -- unlike the room where you sleep in, his room is not smoke-sealed from the living room) while watching a movie together. The bed is big and the room is clean and nice looking. I guess the only downsides could be that you can hear the train passing outside (although I personally didn't mind that - I found the mechanical sound quite soothing) and that if it's really cold outside, it won't be very warm inside either (under the blanket it's ok, though).
So it's a great place to stay no matter if you're tourist or you just need a bed in NYC. It's clean and comfortable. Room is big enough to keep there huge bag like mine, bed is very comfy. Sky can offer you a towel and welcome cheese sandwich ;) JMZ Myrtle St. is 1 min close from the door. There are many places to eat around and if you want to prepare you own food kitchen is good to do so. If you don't like cats SnowMonster won't bother you no worries but if you like them you'll become friend like we did! Sky gives advices easly. Enjoy! It's worth coiming!
A friend and I met in Brooklyn last minute. He was super responsive and met us nearby to give us the key. Sky's place is great and he had a cute white cat. I wish we had more time to hang out at the apartment!
Such a treat to have stayed with Skyler and Snow monster. The room was perfect a second from the myrtle train station and a stone throw away to Williamsburg. With a 24 hour deli on the corner and supermarket all very close. Skyler himself was a great host told me about some interesting places to go and overall was a very nice and interesting guy he also kept the place very clean. The room was cozy and I felt like I was at home. I highly recommend this place and for woman who are travelling alone. Thank you Skyler and snow monster for having me stay! ;)
Sky is a ripper bloke and a top host, who helped make our time in New York as enjoyable as possible. Whilst for most of our stay we did our own thing, when we were in the apartment, Sky was great value to hang out with and have discussions with, and also offered tips and ideas for seeing the city.
The apartment is decorated in a very cool manner, and is well located in Williamsburg, right next to a subway station, multiple food options and a supermarket. The room was big enough for all our gear, the bed was comfy, and the cat Snow Monster affectionate - all up a great place to stay.

I am an Actor living and working in NYC. I am into Punk Rock and Skateboarding.
I like to utilize the city for it's free amenities and am willing to show guests how to do the same. For example: if you have ice skates, you can skate Byrant park for FREE!, most museums have free days, Central Park has trails to explore. Flushing meadows is an adventure. 8mile walk, or 20min bus ride. the city has tons of skate parks and spots. super cheap boat tours and $13 all you can drink brunch not too far away.
I also enjoy cooking and regularly invite guests to dinner. or if you would rather do your own thing, that's fine also. I don't enter your space unless there is an invitation or an emergency, like its raining and the window is open.
