I was very pleased with AJ's Place. The location was perfect with a lovely view of the bay. In addition the apartment was very well appointed, nicely decorated and extremely clean. I would definitely stay at AJ's Place again when I visit Chemainus. The host as well was very accommodating and respectful of privacy.
I highly recommend this property to others visiting the beautiful town of Chemainus on Vancouver Island.
Thank you! Daniel
This rental was beautiful! It is attached to the main house but has it's own entrance. Judith was respectful of our privacy by leaving the key at the rental and cleaning up after we left. It has such great welcoming touches like shampoo bottles, tea, coffee and even milk in the fridge for coffee. The decor felt like a spa, it even had a fireplace and a giant comfy bed. It was also only a 2 minute walk to a small beach area. There isn't much to do in the city it self but it was a great place for a quiet night.
The moment we arrived at the property we were speechless. AJ's place is amazing, we had a spacious flat for ourselves with huge kitchen, living area, seperate bedroom with ensuite bathroom. From the small porch in front of the entrance we had a beautiful view on the ocean. It was totally clean, charmingly furnished with everything we needed. We would come back every time we're in the area. Highly recommended.
We had such a wonderful stay at AJ's place. Judith and her husband were very friendly and welcoming. She went to the local visitor's center and got info on some of the activities we were interested in and had it there when we arrived.
The apartment was very clean; it's very charming and comfortable. The pictures don't truly capture how nice it is. It's an easy walk to the cute little downtown. The area is very quiet and we slept very well on the comfortable bed.
I would recommend this property to anyone planning to stay in the area.
From the moment we drove into their neighborhood we knew that this was going to be an amazing experience! The homes are all new and perched on a hill with panoramic views of the ocean. The studio that we stayed in was beautiful! It was decorated in between Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn. The colors are soothing, modern and so inviting! The bed is so beautiful along with the heated slate floors and gorgeous shower in the bathroom! The kitchen is small but so functional! The sitting area is quaint. I loved the front door that opens in two sections like an English cottage, that allows you to breathe in the ocean air and gaze at the sea. There is a trail down to a secluded beach. The water is so clear and clean there. Perfect beach to skip rocks on the water. The photos of this studio do not do it justice, it is 100 times more beautiful in real life!!! The hosts are so gracious, warm and helpful! We loved our time here and highly recommend this property.
Wow. This was our first airbnb experience and what a place to start!
Luxurious throughout, everything we could possibly need was here. The shower, in particular, was one of the best we've ever used!
A large living room and kitchen with a balcony to the front of the property overlooking the sea. Bedroom, with the world's tallest bed, and toilet/shower-room to the back. With glorious weather during our stay, two fans kept the apartment cool inside. Tea, coffee, milk and bottles of water were provided.
Judy was a great host, gifting us a bottle of home-made wine, and booking/communication/check-in/out was excellent throughout.
We would recommend trying the Odika Cafe in town, serving great African and local cuisine.
Free WiFi was also included.
Chemainus is just off the Trans Canada Highway, and easily accessible by car.
Overall, the perfect place to relax after a long journey from Scotland.
Wow! What a beautiful loft suite! Everything was in immaculate condition, the suite is beautifully decorated and with many thoughtful details (particularly the fresh flowers!). Judith was the perfect hostess; kind and welcoming. Nothing could have made the stay any better than it was, other than another day to enjoy our time there. Perfect.
