Its all about comfort…A.J.’s Place is a loft style self contained one bedroom suite. It was built and furnished for the owner’s personal use and now can be shared with guests.
From the moment you arrive at the property, enter the garden, make your way up a few stairs and open the Dutch door, you will feel welcome and at home.
A.J.’s Place boasts a living room with fireplace and flat screen TV, a fully equipped kitchen with all appliances, supplies for making tea and coffee and cool bottled water. There is a separate bedroom with a queen bed ,Tempur-Pedic mattress and cuddle-down bedding and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and heated floor.
The view from A.J.’s Place is pretty darn good….. Looking over Stewart Channel, guests see Thetis and Penelakut Islands as well as mountains located on the mainland. Lights from the ski-hills in Vancouver BC twinkle in the distance at night. The channel is busy. You may see working tug boats maneuvering log booms, coast guard patrols, water taxies, sea planes, BC Ferries to the small islands, pleasure boats and kayaks.
Animals appear in the water: ….sea otters and seals and the occasional killer whale….and on land: deer, bald eagles, and a variety of other birds.
Take two minutes and stroll to the beach where you can relax with a book, walk a couple of trails or even launch your kayak. It’s easy to locate star fish and jelly fish although Dungeness crab scurry away from people. The village center is an easy 20 minute walk through the neighborhood. This is a good way to see the murals, explore the quaint shops, check out the bakery, and see what is going on at Waterwheel Park and the Chemainus Theatre.
A charming coastal town located in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island BC, Chemainus is a year-round destination for visitors. Dubbed “Mural Town” Chemainus features over 40 murals and 13 sculptures located downtown and in old town. The murals tell the story of the town’s past including details about those who settled in Chemainus during the mid 1800’s to work in the logging and fishing industries.
Then there is the Chemainus Theatre Festival which is the largest theatre company in British Columbia. making Chemainus Vancouver Island’s theatre destination. Over the last twenty seasons, the theatre produced one hundred plays that were attended by an estimated 80,000 theatre goers each season. People enjoy lunch or dinner in the theatre’s Playbill Dining Room where menus change to compliment the theme of featured productions.
