Located in the city limits of Everett, Malissa and I built The Tiny Tack House back in 2011 and have enjoyed living tiny so much that we want to open up the opportunity for others to "Try on Tiny" before deciding to do it yourself. We are currently only doing short term rentals. Only stays between two and seven days will be approved at The Tiny Tack House. We have parking for one car. Friends and family may street park. This house was designed, built and lived in by us (140 sq ft).
The space
Located on .28 acres of land, this tiny house shares the space with the main house and two other tiny houses. If you are looking for something more private, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking to explore tiny house living, we have what you are looking for! This is an actual lived in tiny house (we recreated in it for 4 years). That means there are scuff marks on the wall from our shoes, cat claw scratches on the ladder steps and minor scuffs here and there. With my wife, together we built the tiny house in 2011. Over the course of seven months, we designed and built the well known Tiny Tack House. There are many stories and experiences that come along with this journey, and now it's time for others to try it out! We are letting people into our home, in hopes to inspire others wanting to make the change to tiny a little easier after staying in one for themselves. There are many tiny houses out there. Try to stay in several to see what you like, what you don't like... what you need and what you can go without. It's an experience, and one that we are excited to offer to others. We have listened and now you can stay inside The Tiny Tack House.
The house comes with a 6'3" long fold down couch, perfect for the occasional nap, or just relaxing and snuggling up and enjoying a movie. The folding desk under the TV gives you adequate room to use your personal computer or to enjoy your meals. When you are finished, simply fold the desk down and enjoy your entertainment area. There is no cable access, only internet connection to Netflix. A huge closet on the main level has plenty of space for your traveling must haves. Store your luggage, coats, hats and other items in the closet to keep the room open and spacious. Since we both needed to work in the tiny house, we installed a second desk. Feel free to use it as your own desk, or extra eating space. You'll find plenty of books and art projects to work on while you are enjoying your visit to The Tiny Tack House. The house has 12 windows total (11 of which open). The tiny house baths in sunlight and the view of evergreens on the property. In the sleeping loft you will find a queen sized memory foam mattress dressed with blankets on top of blankets. It will leave you feeling just too cozy to get out of bed. The bathroom is fitted with a metal trough shower (tall guests will struggle, House was originally designed for us a 5’6” and 5’ 10”) and a Separett Composting Toilet. The kitchen has a small sink, two burner cooktop and a compact refrigerator with separate freezer and fridge space. So get ready to sit back, relax and enjoy tiny!
