Private room in a nice, spacious 2 bedroom apartment on South Beach, right in the center of all the action! Perfect location, 1 block from Washington Drive, 3 blocks from the beach/Ocean Drive, 3 blocks from Lincoln Road. Plenty of public transportation in the area. Shared bathroom, living room and kitchen. Private bedroom has a full size futon bed that fits 2 as well as a twin sized futon mattress that can be set up in room for a 3rd guest and a full closet available. Apartment has WIFI. Laundry room down the hall.
*NOTE* I do not rent my room to anyone with a blank profile so please fill out your profile completely before contacting me. I would like to know a little bit about the person I will be sharing my home with and make sure they are a good fit. =) Thank you.
*Please don't send a request more than 3 months in advance*
PARKING- There is metered parking in the area and guest parking passes are available for $5 per day for the residential zone around the building. Upon booking, please let me know if you will need any passes.
TRANSPORTATION- I do also offer rides to and from the airports or the port. Prices are as follows:
-Miami airport: $20 each way
-Fort Lauderdale airport: $40 each way
-Port of Miami: $10 each way
Prices are about half of what a taxi would charge. Please contact me with flight or cruise details and confirm with me upon booking.
I do travel often and rent out my bedroom or the entire apartment when I am not around. So even if it says on here that the room is booked for the dates you requested, contact me anyway because I might still have something available. Also, if I am traveling, you might be sharing the apartment with my other guests not me.
Interaction with Guests
What I love most about Airbnb is actually interacting with my guests from all over the world and guiding them through my city. I always invite my guests out with me and my friends. I have good contacts for most of the nightclubs and can set my guests up anywhere.
-NO SMOKING inside the apartment, please step out back to the alley
-Keep noise down to a minimum after 10pm
-Keep windows closed and locked
Erica was on a trip when I asked about her apartment and despite it the check in was well organised, and the contact was pleasant. As mentioned already the location is a few minutes walk from the ocean and also great to enjoy south beach nightlife. I appreciated the stuff proposed as oats for breakfeast, soaps, shower gels and also after sun creams. I would clearly go again ))
Erica's Airbnb is in the heart of South Beach, only 4 blocks (less than a 6 minute walk) from the ocean. Overall her place was very well kept and when I arrived the room looked exactly as advertised. And she even threw in a few chocolates, nicely placed on top of the towels. For a moment when I walked in I thought I was in a hotel. The room is bare bones but welcoming. The bathroom was very clean which I definitely (website hidden) worked very well.
I was checked in by Jorge (Erica's BF since she was out of town) and he was quite accommodating and responds quickly to texts or calls.
--He said I was welcome to use the shampoo/conditioner available upon arrival (that was nice since forgot to pack them)
--I did visit with a rental car and was initially worried about the parking situation. Although parking earlier than 6pm can be a pain (since there aren't any residential restrictions), thereafter there are no issues. *Note* Miami recently changed it's residential visitor passes. The process is all done online by Erica and *you don't get a placard*. Your license plate acts as the placard. I was initially worried about this but ended up having no (email hidden);LR
Pros: Well kept, clean, Jorge and Erica were very responsive and helpful
Cons: The bedroom backs up to the street and the walls are thin so you could easily hear peoples conversations as they walked by. I didn't find this to be too much of an issue though since there wasn't a huge amount of foot traffic, even on Friday/Saturday night.
This place is the ultimate crash pad. If you want a shower and a bed to sleep in that is in the center of everything, this is your place.
If you plan to drive, you should understand that parking is a NIGHTMARE! There wasn't a residential pass available and, my fault, I wasn't aware I needed one to begin with. With that being said, I was instructed to go to a nearby parking garage or use the metered parking on the street. As it turns the parking garage was full and I had to drive around for 40 minutes before I came across a car leaving so I could snag a spot. I had to haul my stuff 4 blocks, which wasn't a big deal, but wasn't expected. The Max time you can put on the meter 8 hours. If you get there at 4pm you have to make sure you're around or awake to feed the meter at Midnight and you have to be up to feed it again before 8am. It really is a pain in the rear. Not to mention it cost me an extra $20 to parking for 1 night.
Another thing to be conscious of... If you are a light sleeper, this place is kind of loud. The room is adjacent to the sidewalk that leads to Washington Ave, so party goers are loud throughout the night. Plus the walls are paper thin, you can hear every move of the people upstairs.
Other than that, the bed was comfortable. It is in the middle of everything. Even if you can't walk to something the Ubers are super cheap to almost everything else on the island.
I didn't meet Erica, but I did meet her brother Louis. He was very kind and helpful with advice for what to do in the area.
Erica is a great host! The apartment was nice :) Location is the best ever.. Very close to the beach, restaurants and a night life! She also has a nice cat ..very friendly! Thank you so much , we would love to come back!
We chose to stay with Erica mainly because the price was better than most other places in South Beach. If you're looking for something basic (bed to crash in) we'd recommend Erica's place. But there were some drawbacks for us. Erica has a cat, which wasn't mentioned in the ad. She didn't have some amenities like hand soap in the bathroom (it was all out) or extra shampoo/conditioner. The WiFi was so slow that we couldn't use it to do much. We had gotten back from the bars around 2AM and went to bed, but Erica arrived around 4:30am with her friends and we were woken up by their noise. The bedroom has little ventilation and the windows were locked. On our last morning, Erica texted us saying she was locked out of the apartment and to let her know when we were leaving so we could meet and give her the keys. We sent her several texts over the course of an hour and received no reply so we had no choice but to hide the keys and go to the airport. When we arrived at the airport we got several texts from her.
This may sound like a scathing review, but we don't mean it that way. Her listing was appropriately priced for the quality. The major upside was the location. Her apartment is 3 blocks from the beach. Erica is friendly and gave us some good recommendations for places to eat and drink.
Very sorry if the apartment did not fit your needs. As for waking you up, I do apologize, we tried our best to be as quiet as possible, I did not bring a bunch of friends back to the house or anything, It was just one friend that was staying over and we went right into my bedroom and went to sleep. Please read through the details of the listing you are booking for next time because actually it is mentioned in my listing that I have a pet and it is not mentioned that I provide shampoo/conditioner. I just got back to town myself and didn't have any but scrambled through my travel sized items to find you some shampoo to use so not sure why that was mentioned. I have about 10 bottles of hand soap under my sink in the bathroom so I may not have noticed that the hand soap was gone, all you needed to do was ask...
Erica was a great host! All communication upfront went very well. She was also very helpful with all questions I had and in getting my departure organized. The room was basic and clean; it had all I needed. The location was perfect; close to the beach and various bars, restaurants and stores. Definately would recommend.
Nice place at a perfect location! Close to the beach, shops and busses to down town. Bed was fine and bathroom clean.

I am 27 years old originally from Brooklyn, New York. Moved down to Miami 9 years ago for school. I went to Florida International University and just finished my Master's in Tax Accounting. I LOVE to travel and do so just about every couple months. I love to spend time with family and friends, dance, party, go to the beach etc. I love trying new things and meeting new people. I try not to take life so seriously and just enjoy every minute of it. Work hard, play hard =)
