  • great apartment, great host. thank you stefanie for this nice week in new york city.

  • This is a very good apartment that could become a great place to stay in NYC if the host invested more into it.

To begin with, despite the fact that we paid a whopping $100 cleaning fee, we found the floors to be quite dirty and several areas, for example the TV stand, in need of dusting. The person in charge of getting the apartment ready spent over two hours doing who knows what while I was left to explore the Lower East Side from around 6:30pm until nearly 9:00pm. Given the price of this place, you would expect to find a spotless location that is ready on time.

Second, being a tea-drinker, I was annoyed to find no way to boil water for my morning fix. There was no kettle and the single pot I found in the cupboard had no lid. (Tea, however, was provided.) Having an "updated kitchen" at your disposal is of little use if it lacks rudimentary cookware.

Third, both beds are uncomfortably short and narrow. Seeing as the bedroom and possibly the living room as well have enough space for a queen-size, I wonder why smaller furniture was chosen.

Lastly, if you're thinking of using the spare bed in the living room, make sure you're not sensitive to light, as there are no curtains.

Anyone who's been to NYC will appreciate the rare convenience of having a newly-built, sizable living space for a relatively affordable price. The terrace and, especially, rooftop are great perks too. However, until the host makes some basic improvements to the apartment, I would think twice before renting it again.

  • I had a fabulous two week stay in this light and airy apartment. Clean and bright with well-equipped kitchen and huge balcony / terrace which has view to Freedom Tower. Great location - a good Mini Mart directly across the road and 10 min walk to WholeFoods, 5 mins to Essex St markets and subway. Modern building and very quiet at night , but close to lots of shops and night life.
Roof top is spectacular, esp at dusk.
Stefanie was very helpful and responsive to my queries. She quickly sorted out a very minor problem.
I thouroughly recommend both Stefanie and this apartment.

  • We had a great stay in Stefanie's place. Stunning view of the city and perfect location to visit manhattan even by foot. The apartment is cosy and big enough for 4 people. We also enjoyed a very hot and long water supply for showers and the kitchen, furnished enough to allow us cooking whatever we did need. The apartment is also well isolated from mostly any noise coming from outside even if on a very windy day (30km/h winds) we had a bit of noise caused by the air flow coming from the heating system (that wasnt probably working at its 100%). Just a pity being not able to meet Stefanie in person!
A positive overall feedback, i'd recommend it.

  • I had a great time at this place! What a great hostess! Easy to get in touch with and very responsive. It was in a perfect spot close to great restaurants and the metro. I would definitely stay there again.

  • The apartment was exactly as advertised. Pretty spacious as NYC apartments go. The rooftop was fabulous. We will stay there again when in the city!

    February 2014
  • The apartment was clean, bright, cozy and very comfortable. I loved the terrace even though it was too cold and snowy to enjoy it. The location was fabulous and I highly recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to spend a few days or longer in the city. Very cool and comfortable.

I've hosted for 3 years and stayed with hosts all over the world. I love learning from new people about new cultures.
