About this listing
Welcome to our great family-owned apartment in the best part of Palermo! A lovely 2 bed apartment than can comfortably hold 6, in a secure, modern building with all amenities. Step outside and you are in BA's best neighbourhood - ready to explore!
Superb 2 bed apartment in a state of the art building in the heart of Palermo Soho on Borges and Paraguay. The apartment is 'contrafrente' (faces the large 'pulmon de manzana'/interior open space, rather than the road) so it's quiet, has really great light and looks out over the garden and swimming pool.
It's a great central location, ideally positioned between Plaza Italia and Plaza Serrano. So you're within easy walking distance of both, but far enough removed to be out of the hustle and bustle. 3 blocks away are all the transport links (subte D and many many bus lines) of Plaza Italia on nearby Santa Fe. You're a short walk to parks, the Botanic Gardens, and of course all Palermo Soho's famous boutiques, restaurants, bars and nightlife are on your doorstep.
Local amenities including supermarkets, organic food shops, restaurants/pubs, discos/bars, ice cream parlours, local internet coffee shops, banks and ATM machines are all within a few blocks.
A very short cab ride away are Las Canitas, with its restaurants, bars and polo fields; the Costanera, with its top nightclubs; Aeroparque Jorge Newberry, the domestic airport; Recoleta, with its lovely architecture and stunning cemetery; and San Telmo, with its historical buildings and markets.
The apartment is 71 square meters, fully furnished, and has one King size bedroom, one Queen (which can be split into 2 singles if requested in advance), 1 full bathroom and 1 half. Great living/dining room with a table for 6, very comfortable sofabed and 2 armchairs with coffee table and cable LED TV with DVD. Large balcony overlooks the garden and swimming pool.
Has wifi, and ACs in living room and in each of the bedrooms.
To use the Chromecast, use the remote to switch the TV input to HDMI1 and follow the onscreen instructions. To go back to normal TV, switch the input back to CABLE.
The building has 24 hour security, a fully equipped modern gym that looks out onto the garden, a large swimming pool with a paddling area, an area to do parrillas (BBQ) and a SUM (large lounge) that can be reserved for private parties.
It also has a laundry room with coin-operated industrial washer and dryers available to all building residents.
For stays of 2 weeks or more there is a maid who comes once a week. Hot water and central heat. Includes bed clothes and towels.
Please make sure to read the House Rules section also.
I live in BA, so am around to answer any questions you might have.
Security deposit payable in cash on arrival (fully refunded at checkout if there are no damages or breakages):
- stays of less than a month = USD 200.00
- stays of 1 month or more = USD 500.00
Normally check-in and check-out times are very flexible depending on your travel arrangements.
However if you are checking-in/out on the same day that another guest is checking-out/in and it's not possible to work out a mutually convenient arrangement for everybody then you may have to be prepared to arrive later or leave earlier than you would ideally like.
If all else fails, then the following check-in/check-out times will apply:
- Check-in 3pm
- Check-out 12pm
I will always try to help out as much as possible in these cases and, if necessary, luggage can be safely left for a few hours in my other apartment nearby.
The gym and swimming pool can be used up until 10pm.
Please do not take food or drinks to the pool or leave any trash behind.
El departamento es muy lindo al igual que el edificio, no tiene demasiados lujos, pero tiene todo lo necesario para pasar una estadía super cómoda. La zona es tranquila y esta cerca de muchas atracciones.
We had a good and not so good experience.
First, let me comment that Cameron was a present host. He was there at late hours for us, we had the opportunity to talk about the not so good things and I am sure he tried to balance things based on his previous experiences. We where treated honestly regarding financial matters and we where offered to cancel the reservation without penalty.
All in all, things came out reasonably fair.
Now, the not so good things. We where shocked about the lack of maintenance, notably on the walls. We where also not happy at all with the cleaning, and lack the of several basic cleaning materials.
If things go unchanged, I feel obligated to warn about the out of synch of the pictures in the add, with reality.
Good flights to all.
Rui and his wife contacted me an hour after their midnight check-in to mention their concerns about the state of the cleaning, and the cleaning lady went around the following morning to clean everything that they pointed out (she had also already cleaned the apartment 2 days before the check-in). I don't see how more could have been done to satisfy them on this front.
There are some scuffs in the dining area where previous guests have scraped the chairs and their bags against the walls, but this clearly cannot be repainted after every visit and while it might temporarily not be in as-new condition, the slight cosmetic markings on these walls between repaintings do not affect guests' use of the apartment at all.
Immediately after they first mentioned this (and had asked for a price reduction on the already steeply-discounted rate they got at the last-minute), I offered to go through picture by picture in person with Rui to demonstrate that it is in fact precisely as shown in the profile, but he said it wasn't necessary and perhaps he had overreacted.
I also offered that if they were truly unhappy with the apartment that they could leave with no charge for the time that they had already stayed there.
I want my guests to be happy in my apartments (as can be seen from other guests' reviews of this and my other apartments), and I consider it a personal failure if that doesn't happen despite my best efforts.
I am disappointed to find out after their stay that it appears to have been a failure in this case, but I do not see what more could have been done to attempt to accommodate them.
Description accurate, good communication with Cameron before arrival, he answerd all our questions and booked the SUM + Parilla (grill) in advance! Nice flexible check-in and check-out according to our flight plans!
Nice, but very basic appartment, which is neat when travelling with children (there's not much for them to break). Great location & very nice pool and play area. Definetely a good choice for families with kids.
Palermo best area to be in. and the apartment is amazing, and the host was helpful with all we needed
It Was a pleasure !
Functional apartment in a safe building in a great location. We stayed as a family of four and the set-up was perfect. Walking distance to lovely gardens and museums, not to mention lots of restaurants and interesting shops. The pool was very welcome in the BA summer heat. Certainly a worthwhile place to stay. Thanks, Cameron!
This place is perfectly located if you want to stay in the "northern" part of the city: close to Plaza Serrano and the Palermo Bosque. The building is nice and modern with friendly and efficient security at the door. The apartment is as pictured but no more no less i.e. as someone mentionned: it IS spartan and a little worn down -definitely a "rental only". The pool and the gym are great (clean, well maintained, etc.). Last but not least, communication with Cameron is straightforward and flowless and he lives in B.A., which i find is always a plus!
