  • Just came back from a great time in Austin, staying at Tylers place. Tyler is a good guy and very helpfull fixing a few things, that wasn't quite in place when i arrived. And he's an oracle when it comes to the local music scene, with lot's of great stories, a cool dude to hang out with.

  • Tyler was a fantastic host. We really enjoyed our stay at Austin. The place was clean, and well kept. It is also at a great location - walking distance to some of the best shops and restaurants the city has to offer.
Tyler went out of his way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. He volunteered to be our personal chaperone for a day, took us to the city's best look out spot on a mountain, and then drove us to some of the city's most famous bars and shows.
I would definitely recommend anyone who wants to have a good time in Austin to stay at Tyler's house.

  • Tyler was a great host. We were out and about mostly, at a football game and music festival, but Tyler kept in touch via text to make sure we had everything we needed. His place is pretty conveniently located and a very short bus ride to the best parts of Austin. When I come back to Austin (hopefully soon) I'll definitely try to stay with him again.

  • The host canceled my reservation the day before arrival.

  • Tyler was fun, relaxed host. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome and comfortable He gave us great recommendations about some of the best spots in Austin. He even took us out to some of these places.

If you want to experience what Austin has to offer with a guy who knows how to have a good time, I recommend staying with Tyler. This is by no means a fancy hotel room, so keep your expectations realistic. This is however a fantastic way to experience Austin and one of its finest.

Also, definitely recommend check out his band- their music is great and they put on a great show.

  • As a host, Tyler was very friendly and welcoming on my stay at his place for ACL weekend. He worked with my work schedule to find a time when I could get settled into his place, which I appreciated. He even looked up the bus route I needed for me. The location was well located for exploring south Austin.

Sadly, Tyler is new to Airbnb hosting and there were some kinks to my stay. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned and wasn't cleaned over the course of my stay. It had a lot of hairs, shaving bits, and laundry on the floors and counter and a dirty bathtub. The bed in the bedroom was comfortable, but a portion of it sagged so that if you were in bed with another person and were near the edge, you had to be careful not to roll out. He could have also tidied up more of his personal items in his room, since there was laundry out on the door knob and stuff falling out of the closet.

When I mentioned the positives and negatives to Tyler, he was very receptive to making changes for the future. I think this place has potential to be an even better experience for those staying at this affordable, well located place in the future!

  • Tyler was an awesome host! He made sure to make my friend and I feel at home as much as he could. He has recently been added to the list of funniest people I have encountered. If you have a chance to stay with him, I recommend it.

  • Tyler is a very nice guy.
There is a bus stop nearby, and the bus takes you downtown very quickly for sxsw. There is also an amazing diner with vegan and gluten free food nearby, Kerbey's.

About
I have been living in Austin for about 3 years now. I grew up out in west Texas. My band Union Specific makes regular appearances here in Austin. If you are interested in attending a show, I would be more than happy to get you on the guest list. I have enjoyed meeting all my guests. We always seem to have great conversations. If you stay at the apartment, you can expect things to be clean, as well as a hot breakfast cooked by yours truly! Hope to see you soon.
