A cozy bedroom offered in a sublime Boulder location. Walk directly to the foothill trails and/or all of the downtown locations. After that, feel free to use the spacious kitchen and sit by the fire!
IMPORTANT: If you make an inquiry and I do not respond within a few hours, I am not ignoring you but most likely far out in the wilderness and away from the system. I'll respond to your inquiry ASAP when I get out of the woods!
I have a fully furnished spare bedroom in a sublime Boulder location. A five minute walk leads you to multiple mountain trails or central downtown Boulder. If you're looking to stay in town and not have to drive anywhere, this is the perfect place.
The room includes full access to a large, bright, fully equipped kitchen with a gas range and convection oven. A washer and drier are available upstairs for laundry. During pleasant weather, a back patio adjacent to the kitchen with mountain views can be used for dining outdoors. Access to a WiFi internet connection capable of handling streaming movies on multiple computers is available. You may also sample my stereo and record collection.
The bedroom includes a queen size bed with a down comforter. Located upstairs and with bay-style windows, the room receives abundant light and offers great views of the Flatirons. The condo has one full and one half bathroom.
My place is on the end of a four-unit condo complex with exceptionally friendly neighbors. Street parking adjacent to the property is free and spots are always available. Across the street is Boulder Creek, a local hotspot for tubing to cool off. The Boulder Creek bicycle/running trail is also just across to street to help you get around- I use this to commute home from work. A handful of bus lines are located nearby on Canyon Avenue and the Boulder RTD Transit Center is within walking distance.
I do offer a spare bicycle for guests to get around town with. The ride is fitted for my height- about 5'9".
As for me, I work as an ecologist at a non-profit national ecological monitoring initiative. The work involves a lot of travel, so there's a good chance you'll get the condo to yourself. I typically work 9-5 and go to the gym afterwards so the unit will be open most days during the week. On weekends, I'm nearly always out backpacking in some wilderness so there's a good chance you'll have the condo to yourself then, too.
I genuinely enjoy hosting my space and meeting new people. If you're looking for recommendations on nearby trails, fly-fishing spots, restaurants or bars, I'm very happy to share my local knowledge! Boulder has fantastic options to offer on all of those fronts.
For first time Airbnb users, if you do not fill out your profile and make verifications before inquiring about a stay, the following message will be sent to you: Thank you for inquiring about the bedroom in my condo. I would be happy to consider your inquiry. However, before doing so I will have to ask that you further complete your Airbnb profile. We hosts depend on profiles, and especially verifications through social media sites, to ensure we are communicating with legitimate guests. That is why Airbnb offers so many means of verifying your account. Please do not send information about yourself to me directly, rather, use the system to develop a profile so that next time you make a reservation request the information will already be there. Please feel free to write me back once you have a complete profile and I will be happy to book your request. Thanks!
Guests have full access to my kitchen, WiFi, the patio, both bathrooms (of course), my stereo and records, and just about anything else one may need to borrow while traveling. I'm generally very open with my stuff, so if you need something peculiar, just ask!
Interaction with Guests
As much or as little as you'd like. I've become friends with a few guests and have gone out to meals, but I'm fine if you'd prefer to keep to yourself. If you need advice on where to go and what to do in Boulder, I'm happy to help.
The location is perfect for Boulder: you can easily walk downtown or to the lovely Sanitas Trail.
The bus depot is within walking distance of my place and the Boulder Creek bike path is just across the street (Canyon). Also, CU is within walking distance. I have a bike available for guests as well.

For anyone reading this with any doubt if it's as amazing as it seems, it is. Ryan's house is a vacation in itself. It's cozy and friendly and has tons of records, books, and nick nacks to occupy your time. It's like a walk through a museum. As a host, Ryan was wonderful. He is very cool about everything, and you are more than welcome to make his place your home in your time there. The answer to almost any request will be "yes". His neighborhood is gorgeous, the house is literally a short 10 minute walk to downtown, and just as short a walk to the mountains. Boulder is an incredible city and I wouldn't recommend experiencing it from any place other than Ryan's. I will be back without a doubt.
Ryan was a gracious and easygoing host, and his home is charming--warm, clean, green, with a bonus of a great view of the mountains. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Boulder.
Ryan was an excellent host. The entire stay was clean, quiet, and just what I needed. Ryan is totally chill and is able to recommend places around boulder to visit and he is also easily accessible via text or call on his phone which is nice. I would absolutely recommend staying here over anywhere else in Boulder if his pad is available. He said that his room is typically booked 100% of the time in the summer months and a little over half the time in the winter so definitely plan well in advance for this high in demand Pearl Street location!
My wife and I stayed at Ryan's condo Jan. 22-25. We had never visited Boulder,so were not really sure what area would suit us best. We found Ryan's place to be convenient to downtown shopping for my wife and nature walking for myself. It was so quiet there. At night it was almost like camping out, except with heat and a bed. No cars, no trains, no voices, just the wind in the trees. It was very easy to find, even at night. Parking is restricted but there are a couple of sidestreets nearby with free parking. The neighborhood appears to be very safe. We walked all over, even at night and felt comfortable. Ryan has just about everything that you might need there. I even borrowed a scarf one breezy evening. The thing we enjoyed most was the record player and the gas logs. We were very happy to sit there at night listening to music. We even bought a couple of albums at the Goodwill to listen to. Overall,we were very pleased with our vist. Ryan's ad is very on the money. He communicates regularly and follows up on any questions that might arise. If you want a nice quiet visit with easy access to most of Boulder, then Ryan's condo would be a good place to stay.
Ryan's is a perfect place to stay if you want to hike in the foothills of the Rockies. His house is literally three blocks east of the trailhead. In the opposite direction is the Pearl Street shopping district starting three blocks to his east. Ryan is a very helpful host and he lent me his shoe treads so I could hike on snow-covered and ice packed paths in the hills. He also gave great recommendations for Boulder restaurants and even good dishes to order there. His house is clean and pleasant with a good kitchen. The guest bed is really comfortable and the house nice and quiet. I'd be happy to stay there any time I visited Boulder.
Nice place! Great location on Pearl, clean and comfortable and nicely decorated -- awesome photos! Recommended.
Ryan's place was perfect – exactly as described and shown in the photos. I only wish we could have stayed longer! Loved the fireplace, the overall coziness, the attention to detail in his space. It's a perfect little getaway. Ryan is also extra-friendly and communicative.
Highly recommend staying here!

I am currently an aquatic ecologist at the National Ecological Observatory Network here in Boulder, Colorado, where I've lived for about two years. I study rivers, streams, fish and aquatic organisms all over the country for my job. Most weekends I'm usually found out backpacking and/or flyfishing throughout Colorado (and elsewhere if I happen to be traveling). If you need advice on all things outdoors here, I'm a reasonable resource!
