Place to crash downtown, short stay

Dorm - Shared room · Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94102, United States

For a quick visit in town? mainly a place to crash and shower? Nice room in residential hotel to be shared by one or two more, so this reservation can be for one person only and up to 7 days

The Space

Room in Down Town San Francisco.
Old style residential hotel, near everything.

To be shared with some else, so this reservation is for 1 more Only, two beds though.

Good for a quick stay in the city

Location: near

1/2 a block from Bart (subway),
5 min. walk to Union Square,
15 min walk to Castro, or Embarcadero
20 min. walk to Mission
and right at several public transportation stops.

No parking space at the facility (of course.. is SF !!!), and hard to find nearby so this is much better for travelers not driving a car.

I have a microwave oven, fridge and a coffee maker in room.
Shower and restroom on hallway.
Not a luxury room/place, but good for someone with a day full of activities.

Utilities included

You need to take garbage bin out, every time you prepare something to eat. Keep food well wrapped or sealed

Guest Access

Since you will be a visitor during the days you stay at the room. This requires the following:

Between the hours of 9 am and 6 pm, you need sign in the visitors log that is right in front of the management office/ front desk. This has to be done once a day only.

You do get a room key during all your stay. But not the gate key. If you plan to arrive after 6 pm, let me know the exact time to be able to open the building gate for you

If one day, you need to arrive after 10 pm, you can borrow the gate key, but this is possible
once a week only.

Interaction with Guests

It is better to keep to yourself in the buildling since most are retired people and people living in transitional way, so they do not usually look to make friends.

The Neighborhood

Downtown.... right between the run down area and the new mid-market and SOMA, very safe around here but you definitely will see homeless people (like in most parts of the city) who are a bit run down and or high but are not dangerous at all.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Francisco is a nice guy, ready to help. You can feel by talking with him that he is a teacher and indeed he is a personal spanish and english teacher. The consequence is that he is most of the time in his hotel room. This was very helpful for me to recover my lost luggage : he was here when they delivered it.

Even if the pictures are not from its current room, they are representative. The bed in the picture is Francisco's one (shared with its roommate). I had a small mattress added on the floor by their bed. With the added mattress, almost no floor space was left, moreover francisco has a lot of things packed in his room so it felt crowded.

Don't expect to do anything more than sleeping there and Francisco will show you how to do it (he does sleep a lot)!

  • I had roaches crawling on me at night, But the host was very friendly and tried to help with the problem..... But I don't believe the room was worth $450 for two weeks....

  • Francisco is a nice and helpful guy. He has a bed and a mattress on the floor in his one room to choose from and you share a shower and bathroom with his floor in a working-class dorm. very simple hostel like accomadations with more privacy, great for traveling on a budget while being right in the center of san francisco right next to all major public transportation lines.

  • Had a very nice stay at Francisco's apartment. He was very helpful and accommodating about towels and getting around the city.

  • The place is small but the location is very good, very close to the center and a great place to relax and take a bath.
Francisco is very friendly and nice person.
