Josh was very nice. He provided us with all the necessary information about buses to the downtown. Unfortunately we did not get a chance to meet Ava. Generally they were not around a lot. On the other hand their cat was always at home. The cat was lovely! Our room was
great, just as showed on pictures. We got fresh towels and there was also a coffee machine in our room. The neighborhood was safe and clean. We had a pleasant stay.
We didn't meet Ava or josh at the first night, cause we arrived a little late but we had a code to enter the house so everything was fine.
The house and the room was pretty nice and clean, and just about 3 min from the next bus station.
Ava and josh were really nice people although we didn't meet them too often.
We stayed 3 nights at Ava and Josh's house. Firstly we didn't get welcomed by themselves because they weren't in when we arrived. I called Josh and he said we can enter. The guest room was clean and the bed comfortable. Bathroom was very cozy and clean. We used the kitchen for breakfast two times and it was unfortunately a bit dirty.
Ava and Josh were very friendly and helpful, we even got a pass for the pond nearby so we were able to enter the beach. Bus connections are great, the bus stop is 1 min from the house so there's no problem to get into the city.
We had a great and short stay there.
They were both really great ! The house is very stylish, artistic, comfortable and makes you feel right at home. Beautiful hardwood floors and stairs, and everything, really. The view of sunsets from the bedroom we stayed was incredible. Plus, their cat is so adorable and loving!! Both hosts were helpful and we liked the place. Thank you for everything!
It was really nice just to have a place to sleep. Conversation is good, but we had such a busy weekend that it was nice to be able to run in and out when needed! I will be staying here next time I'm in the area. I will also suggest Ava and Josh's place to friends and family!
We we able to spend time with Ava and Josh about the third night into our stay. They are a lovely couple, very warm, and very personable. They are also very busy people. Their cat Honey is just as warm and friendly as they are (although it is weird saying "Hi Honey" to someone that isn't my Husband haha).
This was our first experience with airbnb so we have no comparison. The bed was clean, but had no towels our first morning and ended up going through the linen closet until we found a large bath towel to share. About an hour later Josh responded to our text and brought us a set of towels and washcloths. I felt I was totally warned that there are steps to get to the house, just didn't realize how many and how steep. Once again, we knew about the stairs, so no fault of our hosts or the listing. Mass-transit is also not as good as expected. During the week, during rush hours, transit is excellent. Lousy on the weekend and in between the rush hour times. Thanks to Uber and Lyft we could get around, but they're not as inexpensive either. If you stay with Ava and Josh, best to have your own vehicle. As they state, there is plenty of free parking. So question: Would we stay there again? Yes we would.
Ava & Josh are awesome as hosts. We felt at home at their house and really that's a big thing to feel like in a strangers home. The house is well connected with bus route which connects you to subway.
If you wish to feel like staying amidst greenery, near medford pond, on a hill and in an old and continental style bungalow, this can be a great place. And yes its quite economical.
Also, living room and kitchen is made available to the guests all the time and hence you don't feel constrained to your room.
We used airbnb for the first time and had an amazing experience. This will be our first choice next time we come to Boston.
