Modern Design Houseboat in the heart of Amsterdam. Experience Amsterdam in the best way possible, right on the canal. Located on the famous Prinsengracht canal this is the best location to be just steps away from the Hermitage Museum, the Amstel River, The Carre Theater and the Outdoor Market at Waterlooplien.
This 85 sq mtr houseboat has one bedroom that has french doors that open up to the water, great place to wake up, relax and get ready to enjoy your day. A second room used as an office can also accomodate a air bed if requested.
The our door terrace is a great place to sit back unwind have a glass of wine and watch all the canal boats go by and probably have many chances to feed our local swans and ducks.
Bikes may be available, please ask me if you would like them and I will let you know how many we have at the time. We rent them at 8 Euros per day.
We are just a 5 min walk away from the famous Utrechtstraat that boasts a variety of great boutique shops, great restaurants and plenty of small bars.
All linens and towels are provided.

This houseboat is located in a convenient part of Amsterdam. It is a short bike ride away from great restaurants and cafes, and a very easy ten minute bike ride away from attractions such as the Rijksmuseum. It is nice inside and a comfortable place to stay.
The bikes mentioned in the listing weren't really available for our stay, and as we had three people staying in the houseboat we had to hire them, which was easily done (we hired through MacBikes). Unfortunately the museum cards had expired so we couldn't use those, but the museums are certainly worth paying for.
We got a little frustrated sometimes with having to climb inside the bedroom (not being familiar with house boats, I'm sure it's designed this way for a reason). I certainly wouldn't suggest anyone not completely able-bodied trying to get in there! But we had a comfortable enough sleep each night. Our friend didn't much like the second bed - seemed to be more like a sofa bed than a real bed, and the second bedroom is not really enclosed fully, but it wasn't the end of the world.
Karina was very helpful throughout the whole booking experience and stay. We saw lots of ducks but no swans which was a shame.
All in all we had a nice stay in Amsterdam. It's certainly a great city and staying on the water was a nice novelty.
Karina's houseboat is gorgeous and located in a peaceful, residential area of Amsterdam. Just far enough from the usual Amsterdam nightlight to have a little solitude but close enough to venture out in the evenings if needed. Very close to various trams and the metro. Karina is even thoughtful enough to leave transit and museum passes if needed.
The only thing to note is that there is not much in the way of late night food or shops open in the neighborhood. You may want to plan accordingly if you are a night person like myself.
The house boat was better than we anticipated! Central, clean, nicely decorated with everything we needed. My boyfriend and I ended up spending quite a bit of our time indoors as we were working, so it was important to have basic stuff available, Karina's house was excellent for that. It was easy to stay in touch with Karina and she was very responsive when we had questions. A bit of trouble with the wifi, but it was definitely something with the connection, which ended up fixed.
Great place, would recommend it to everyone for a quiet yet central location in the Dam.
Great accommodation all around - beautiful houseboat, nicely decorated, comfortable, fantastic location, great/clean facilities. Highly recommended.
Would definitely consider coming back.
Minor disappointment with bikes not being available once on location but hardly a deal breaker. Karina's also been very helpful, friendly and has good attention to details such as map and travelcards available. Icing on the cake was the ducks/swans saying hello every morning!
Can't wait to go back
Karina has a cute boathouse which is very close to the center. We stayed ather house in November. The house was clean and very comfortable. She leaves a travel and a museum card for her guests which is a nice gesture. She also has bikes available. In the morning, beautiful swans comes to your bedroom window to wish you a great day ;) we truly enjoyed our stay at Karina's place and will stay again in the future.
Our stay in Karina's apartment was great. Design House Boat is such a good place to stay. Great location. I would recommend
Karina apt is greatly located, 6 minutes by bike to everywhere. The place is airy, spacious and cosy. We (Four adults ) spent 3 nights in the apartment. In general the apt is really nice and u have everything u need for a short or long stay :)
I definitely recommend her place if u want to enjoy beautiful Amsterdam :)
We really enjoyed our stay at the houseboat which is located in a very peace full area of Amsterdam, only 10 minutes walking distance from the heart of the city.
We will definitely consider staying there again next time we go to Amsterdam.
My wife and I just spent a week on Karina's boat, and it was great! The boat is fully equipped, and she had some wine, beer and cookies in the fridge for us. It can be very romantic — e.g. when a swan swims by during breakfast :) It's a cosy boat, even in winter time, and a really nice place to relax when spending time in Amsterdam. The location is close to the metro and the city centre, and we had some nice walks from there to Jordan.
We arrived late at night but prior arrangements with the host kept us right and check in was made with no fuss. The house boat is amazing, fitted with all the essentials and in a great location. Loved our stay and would deffinatly go back again. Thanks Karina!!
