About This Listing
This is a beautiful private room perfect for two, with a in-room private bathroom in my shared apartment
The apartment is very well located, 10 min from subway station irarrazabal. 3 subway stops from downtown santiago.
This is a beautiful private room, with a private bathroom in a shared apartment where I live.
The apartment is very well located, central but far enough to avoid downtown's noisy environment. 3 tiny blocks away from Irrarazabal/Salvador Intersection,
The apartment itself is fairly large (100m2). The building is super modern, with a outdoor pool, Sauna, Jacuzzi, Gym, and others. The Jacuzzi & Sauna facilities cost around $8 (USD) for 3 hours.
The room is large and has a private bathroom. It is in 12 square meters in total, 10,8 are a square main space and 2 square meters of a little hallway with a closet. It has a queen side bed, a bedside table, 2 lamps and a computer desk. The rent includes full house privileges: Internet via WIFI, kitchen, TV and DVD access, washing machine and basic expenses (water, electricity and gas) plus a cleaning lady every other week.
Interaction with Guests
I work so I am usually away office hours on weekdays, but I like to enjoy dinner with my guests when possible and if they want to.
I live at this apartment, I shift between rooms according to which are rented.
The building is 2 blocks from supermarkets, and several pharmacy’s. Also ten minutes away (walking) is the trendy barrio Italia with several cool little boutiques, lovely restaurants and coffee shops, within walking distance we have thai, peruvian, vietnamese, indian, italian, sushi and of course chilean restaurants.
A jump (180m) from Irrarazabal/Salvador Intersection, it has plentiful transport all day until maybe 1am when frequency goes down but buses continue to run all night long. If in a hurry, taxis are cheap since we are pretty close to downtown and Providencia.
The apartment is 1 kilometer away from Irarrazabal Metro Station to link on to Santiago's very safe and clean subway system. Althought the subway only works until 11pm.
Other Things to Note
Some details; We have plenty of hot water, the water boiler works continuously, automatic and is central to the building, not inside the apartment.
The apartment has central heating!!! its lovely and toasty!! (althought only active during the Winter- May to August), there is a radiator inside each bedroom and one in the living room. This is not a common feature in Chile.
The internet connection is fast, 15mbps download and 1,4mbps upload.
The apartment is on a second floor in case you are afraid of our Chilean earthquakes, although you should feel safe anywhere in this regard since Santiago's arquitecture has proved to be well prepared for these events.
All guests are required to wash their dirty dishes, cutlery, pots an pans after using them, also to put them away once they have dried.
Clean sheets & towels will be provided for every guest and these will be changed by the cleaning lady every 2 weeks. If the guest desires to wash his/her sheets more often the washing machine is always available to be used.
(website hidden) are allowed to use the washing maching and all other apliances of the common areas, the idea is for all (website hidden) to feel as though they were at home!
The experience here was very good. My host Camilla made every effort to insure my extended stay (almost 3 weeks) was comfortable. A large, private room with a private bathroom was just what I was looking for and exactly what I found. I also had open access to the kitchen in the event that I wanted to prepare meals. The apartment is located on a direct bus line that takes you to the metro and direct access to anywhere in Santiago. Unlike many options in Santiago, Camilla actually has heat also...what a relief!
Staying with Camila is different than staying at most AirBnB homes. Mainly because you are treated as a roommate rather than a simple guest. After having stayed at ~15 AirBnB homes, this is unbelievably refreshing. It's nice to know that I can cook food, or wash clothes, or hang out in the living room without feeling like I'm invading someone else's space.
Obviously being treated like a roommate means you need to hold up your end of the bargain and be clean and respectful of the other people in the house, but the reward for me was feeling like I was living in Chile, rather than just passing through.
On top of all of this Camila is very cognizant the practical matters of travel. She helped me schedule TransVIP shuttles to and from the airport, pointed out places in the city I should visit, and we even grabbed food at some of her favorite restaurants.
The apartment itself is ~10 minutes from the metro and has a grocery store about 5 minutes away. I found the neighborhood to be relatively quiet. I never had a problem sleeping due to noise or music etc, and I'm a light sleeper.
My stay in the apartment of Camila was very good. The site is 100% consistent with your description and actually exceeded my expectations. Well located with bus stop in front of the building and a metro station about 10 minutes, very useful for those using public transport. The place was very clean and tidy and really provided everything that was advertised. Camila is a great company ... Always available to answer questions about the city and help with whatever is needed. In my case, she lent me a Local Sim card so I could have mobile internet and thus facilitate my sightseeing. The site and Host were formidable, and recommend it to all of AirBnB.
I really enjoyed my stay with Camila as we had a familiar atmosphere instead of just sharing the common spaces. Camila is a nice, educated, reasonable and always helpful person. She speaks perfectly English and often helped me when I was searching for the correct Spanish words or expressions for my Spanish studies. Camila is always up for a good talk and you should totally try when she offers you of her tasty home cooked food.
The room is very clean and with its huge bed as well as the included bathroom perfect for one or two people. It also has a good Wi-Fi signal, a heater (not a standard in Santiago) and a selection of travel guides and sightseeing information.
To get around you’ll find a bus stop directly in front of the building and subway station in a 5-10 minute walk (I encourage you to use Google.Maps to easily look for your public transport options – it works perfectly in Santiago).
I totally can recommend you stay with Camila whether for short vacations or a longer stay!
I could not agree more with all other people that have stayed at Camila's place. The place is very clean and cozy, close to metro station and downtown....but the very best thing of course is the hostess Camila. I was in Santiago on business and unfortunately got sick. I can not stress enough how much Camila helped me with all the medications and advices. Of course she helped with all other things like maps, metro card etc... but having somebody who cares while so far away from home and in trouble means the world. A great Airbnb experience and a host you'd definitely love.
My girlfriend and I together stayed with Camila and were both really pleased with the experience. Her reviews don't lie! She is very hospitable and accommodating. She loaned us an extra
"Bip" card for the metro system which was a lifesaver, provided some great advice on moving around the city, and the last night with some friends and other guests she hosted a dinner, which was entertaining and delicious. We enjoyed the city a lot, and the ease of the accommodations, both inside and outside (being near subway) made it all the better. Camila, thanks a lot for the wonderful experience. Meg and I look forward to keeping in touch as well.

About the Host, Camila
My name is Camila, I'm 32 years old and I have a B.A in Biotechnology from Universidad de Chile.
As work I freelance and I just finished my thesis, I usually work a lot, partially from home. In my spare time I enjoy watching series or a movie, going out to eat, watch a band or go dancing.
I like having people floating around my apartment since it feels like it becomes more alive. I love sharing with people from different cultures. To have conversations over home prepared diverse meals.
I have several listings, some of them are located at my apartment and the others at friends or my parents apartments: Rodrigo and Nancy, whom are also wonderful hosts.
I hope all my guests feel very welcome, with the freedom and independence to do what they may.
This restaurant is hip and very in, one of the most fashionable place to eat for the artsy alternative crowd, plus the food is great and the prices reasonable.Seminario Stgo Santiago Metropolitan Region
La Jardin is a very beautiful and artsy restaurant, great atmosphere, decoration, it has outdoor dining. It serves international food. Very cool, price regular, not cheap, not expensive.Francisco Bilbao Stgo Santiago Metropolitan Region
This is my favorite Peruvian food restaurants in Santiago, I recommend the ceviche mixto, maracuyá sour and tacutacu. Price 7000 (aprox 14US) for the ceviche that feeds two, the drinks are expensive.Seminario Stgo Santiago Metropolitan Region
