***Please make sure to message us before making a reservations request...We'd love to answer all your questions first and get to know you a bit!***
This is a beautifully restored Colonial house in the historic center of Salvador Brazil. The room has it's own balcony with the best view to the Lower City and Bahia de Todos os Santos (bay), in Salvador. We are a short five minute walk to the Pelourinho where all the museums, churches, and famous nightlife can be found. Within seconds of walking outside the house you can find charming cafes, bars, and a small market.
We offer wifi and use of the laundry machine in our price.
We will offer many ideas on what to see and do in Salvador. We know many other places in Bahia as well so will be happy to answer any and all questions. Tell us more about yourselves and we'll do our best to recommend things more specifically to your liking.
Some things to know about the house:
The room is down two flights of stairs so while this means you will have a lot of privacy, please consider the accessibility. Please note that your full private bathroom is also upstairs.
Wifi is available throughout the upstairs but unfortunately doesn't reach your room downstairs.
We have brand new pots and pans! And lots of cooking equipment.
NOISE: Please note that as you have the best view over the port and bay, there is also the associated noise that goes with it. During the summer, there will also occasionally be shows held in stages below the house. While most people are happy for the free shows, some people would prefer more peace and quiet;)
We kindly request that no outside guests are brought into the house during your stay.
No drugs. Smoking ok outside.
Please make sure to pay attention to the wattage throughout the house (110 and 220). Most of our equipment is 110 and will burn up if used in the 220 outlet.
*Please do not put any paper in the toilets. These are old houses, built before toilets were invented:) There are waste baskets in each bathroom.
Christopher and Rafaela were away when I visited, but they did everything in their power to ensure my stay was a pleasant one. I had the place to myself, which provided a calm, relaxing and secure base from which to visit Salvador. The views from every floor of the house were stunning, and great to come back to/wake up to.
A friend of theirs, Niko, was on hand to help me move in, and thereafter if I had any questions. Both Christopher and Niko offered tips about places to visit (where to see live music, etc), which were much appreciated. I adored Salvador, for all its cultural history and vibrancy, and would love to come back and stay here once again when I do. Highly recommended.
Christopher and Rafa were incredibly welcoming despite my last minute booking. They even organised a taxi to meet me from the airport which was so much easier - thanks again :-)
The room is advertised, really big space with an incredible view! The sunsets were phenomenal. The house is big and airy and the hosts were fabulous with answering all my questions and introducing me to the neighbourhood including where to go and where not to go. We went for drinks and dinner on my first night and got to enjoy some Salvador traditions and hospitality - thank you for making my stay so enjoyable, it really was appreciated!
It's a very nice place to stay in Salvador. Just perfect, because it's very close to Pelourinho, but far enough to not be disturbed by the noises. Christopher and Rafa are very nice hosts, always ready to give some tips where to go out, what to do, etc. Despite of the immense rain while my trip there I spent an incredible time there and with them. I can recommend their place to everyone who wants to visit Salvador!! Thanks!!
The best location next to the Pelourinho in a beautiful, quiet and safe street close to many bars and places where you can enjoy Bahian food, music and atmosphere! The room is big, nice bed, beautiful views over the bay and has lot of privacy. The private bathroom is upstairs and although we didn't use the kitchen, it seemed full equiped. Christopher was very kind on his advices about what to do and where to go, and really quick answering any message! If you 're travelling on a budget, I recommend it 100%!
It was really nice staying at Christopher and Rafa's, they are really cool people and they made my stay really comfortable, Christopher was not there but Rafa helped me a lot giving me directions and suggestions of where to go. The room is really nice, big and a lovely view; it has a lot of privacy. The house is located near Pelourinho so you can get there in like 5 min. Thank you guys :)!
Christopher is a magical person and his apartment is a dreamscape for anyone. The view from our room is spectacular. There is a balcony as well. The room is so big and cozy. We are so lucky to be a guest in his place.
Also, Christopher is an amazing and friendly person. Even before we arrive, he sent a taxi driver and pick us up. Upon arriving, he gave us direction where to go and where to eat and there is a manual of Salvador. He printed us a map as well and where to avoid especially danger zones. We have many friendly conversation. I am just so overwhelming by his generosity.
Thank you so much Christopher for giving us so an amazing experience in Salvador. I hope we will meet again somewhere in the future.
Very lovely place, great area and great hosts. Christopher gave us many tips for our stay in Salvador and his wife even took us to the carneval. It was like staying at a friends house. We were comfortable from the first day on. The description and images correspond. We had a really nice stay, thank you Christopher and Rafaella! We definitely recommend this apartment.
