This pretty cottage is everything you could want for a relaxing break in friendly Co Wexford. An ideal base for touring the Sunny South East.

The space

Kirby's is a traditional Irish stone-built cottage set in green, tree-lined pastures in the South East of Ireland. It is one of three cottages in the grounds of 300 year old Fruit Hill House where Susan and Richard live with their family, and are on hand to help and advise about things to do and see in the area. Wexford, Waterford and Kilkenny are all within easy driving distance, as are the 14 sandy and unspoiled beaches of the Hook peninsula. The cottage is bright and airy, fully equipped to a high standard, and decorated with stylish simplicity.
Accommodation consists of one double bedroom with a 5 ft king size bed, and a pretty twin room; shower room; kitchen/living room.
Wifi signal available from the greenhouse. Electric storgage heaters, an open fire and well-stocked book shelves together with tv and dvd make for cosy evenings at any time of year.
Nearby is the award-winning restaurant, Aldridge Lodge, and there are shops and pubs a couple of miles away in Campile village. Nearest town is New Ross with its historic ship, the Dunbrody, the Ros tapestry, and from 2013 a fantastic new public swimming pool.
JF Kennedy Arboretum is a lovely park for a stroll with magnificent trees and views, and the Hook Lighthouse, Europe's oldest, is well worth a visit.
This is a welcoming place to stay, and a friendly and interesting part of the world to explore.

This was such a relaxing time at Campile. If you're looking for a quiet place to read, walk, reflect, write or just relax, this is your place. It's comfortable and quaint. Be sure and check out the beautiful flower gardens in the neighborhood. Your'e on your own for meals, so don't forget to pack a few groceries before you get there. Fabulous country experience!

If you are looking to have a real Ireland experience, this is it! I have stayed in various cottages in Ireland and this was by far the most enjoyable. The cottage is perfectly equipped and the cozy fireplace but the modern amenities like Satellite tv and wifi. Susan and Dick were lovely hosts and offered help when needed but let you enjoy yourself in private. Highly recommend!!

After visiting Dublin, we found this lovely and peaceful place for our holidays. The landscape is beautiful and the cottage has everything you need. Susan and her family are all very friendly, and anything you need they are there to help.

The cottage was a wonderful experience of Irish country life. The required facilities (kitchen / bathroom) are all there, the beds are comfortable, although for now we wouldn't advise shower buffs to go for the cottage, which contains a shower, of which the water flow is dependent on gravity. Having said that you may be able to deal with that considering the very reasonable pricing. The owners are very friendly and approachable, the surroundings are gorgeous (close to all the wonderful things that counties Wexford, Waterford and Kilkenny have to offer). We have had a wonderful time there.

Response from Susan:
Thank you Stijn and Susanne. So sorry you didn't find the shower powerful enough - we are eco buffs, and try to keep to a simple way of living, avoiding waste where possible. Something to consider! You are the first to complain about the shower, but we will certainly bear it in mind should anyone else hint that the flow of water is not strong enough.
