Located in a quiet neighborhood full of architecturally significant mid-century modern homes, The Retro Retreat is the ultimate in 60s Chic. The large, sun-drenched backyard is entirely private and features a heated pool and spa, Easter Island Tiki man, table for six, and a killer view of the majestic San Jacinto Mountains. Walk through the front door and bright pop art and vintage fittings will immediately elevate your mood.
The home has a fully-equipped and newly-remodeled kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. The Eames/Herman Miller-adorned dining area seats six. There’s a circa-1966 living room chock full of groovy furnishings—by George Nelson, Knoll and Bertoia—and a cozy wood-burning fireplace. The room opens out to a private patio with a Weber BBQ and an additional table for six. A separate entertainment room boasts beamed ceilings, a 52” LED flat screen TV, more George Nelson, and a psychedelic color explosion with a sense of humor.
The three bedrooms feature their own unique retro style and include a master suite with king bed and 32” LCD flat screen with HD satellite, a king bed in the first guest bedroom, and a queen bed in the second guest bedroom. The two bathrooms have been tastefully remodeled, and there are polished cement floors throughout the home. The Retro Retreat is located just a few minutes from downtown Palm Springs shopping, dining and casino, and across the street from the new Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course, Escena. Many other golf courses are nearby, as is the Aerial Tramway. There’s even a bocce ball court at the end of the bloc(URL HIDDEN)fantastic pad for that short or extended vacation in the sun! This home is a truly wonderful, authentic Palm Springs retreat.
TERMS: Holiday and Special Event rates may be higher and higher minimum nightly stay may apply (4-5 nights). Separate rental contract required, No renters under 25 years of age, no smoking indoors, authorized parties only, pets must be pre-approved in advance of booking and pet fee is paid ($100.00 per pet). Early check-in or late check-out may be available with an extra fee ($125.00). Optional pool heating available with pool heating fee (not needed in summer) - $50.00 per day, $250.00 per week, actual utilities paid for reservations 28 days or longer. Separate City Tax 11.5% required. Accidental Damage Waiver Option @ $49.00 available if requested.

-Check-out time is 10:00AM - 11:00AM on day of departure unless other arrangements have been made. - Smoking is strictly forbidden anywhere inside the house. If smoking outside please make sure to use an ashtray and collect all cigarette litter. -AC/Heating - please DO NOT turn AC below 72 degrees, turning AC lower then 72 would not cool the house faster and may freeze the AC system. Please make sure you keep all doors and windows shut in summer/winter to conserve energy. We monitor energy usage at all properties and you may be charged an additional energy fee if energy usage is 20% or more above normal. -Pets - only pre-approved pets are allowed at the property – strictly enforced. -Pool – please do not attempt to change pool settings, turn pool heating on, or change pool temperature unless authorized. If pool heating was requested and paid pool heating will be set to 86 degrees and should not be changed. We monitor pool heating during rentals. -SPA is normally set (phone number hidden) degrees. You may change the SPA temperature for your convenience. - Trash – ALL trash should be tied in garbage bags and put in your trash bin prior to departure. Excessive trash left at the property may incur extra charges. -Laundry – please remove all dirty sheets and towels and place in the laundry area/room. We would appreciate if you start a first load of laundry. -BBQ – at least one full tank of gas should be provided for you. An extra cleaning charge may be added if the BBQ is left with excessive grease. -Please do not place hot or wet plates or cups directly on furniture, use coasters. Please do not re-arrange the house décor or move furniture. -When checking out, please make sure to lock all doors and windows, set the alarm on if a code was provided to you. Make sure to turn all lights and electronics off – including pool/SPA lights - shut off the AC, and turn SPA off. -If keys were provided to you, please leave them where you found them or in the lockbox using the code provided to you. -Maintenance: In the unlikely event you need maintenance during your stay, DO NOT attempt to fix anything yourself, please call us immediately. -Broken/Missing items: we much prefer that you report to us any items broken or missing upon your departure. We understand that accidents happen and would appreciate your honest cooperation if something went wrong while at the house. -Noise and Parties – an unauthorized party or event at the property will lead to your immediate removal from the property and forfeiture of the entire security deposit. Please avoid playing any loud music outdoors while at the house. The city of Palm Springs has strict vacation rental ordinances regarding parties and noise at vacation rentals. Your cooperation is appreciated. -At Your Own Risk: Use of anything on the premise including the house, property, hot tub, and pool are at your and your guests own risk. It is the renter's responsibility to explain these rules to their guests and to abide by these rules. Any extra charges that may be assessed to owner along with any damage expense will be deducted from renters deposit or charged to credit card on file.

The "FINE PRINT" - All vacation rentals in Palm Springs and surrounding cities must follow very strict local vacation rental ordinances (laws) to remain in business, including strict occupancy limits (2 persons per bedroom), collection of separate local occupancy taxes (9% - 13%), party free homes, good neighbor policies, no outdoor music permitted at vacation rentals, renters must be over the age of 25 to book, and an actual rental contract must be signed with an ID provided for the responsible renter.
We understand that this may add a few extra steps to the speedy AirBnB booking process. We do hope that our ever present sunshine, amazing homes and pools, and stunning mountain views would make up for the extra steps. Please keep in mind that we don't make the local laws, we just follow them!!!
