  • Liz was very friendly, but we were supposed to check in at 3pm and the place was not ready until 10pm that night. We paid for that time and it was taken from us. After all that, the place wasn't even clean. The kitchen was very cluttered and the fridge was dirty. The pictures on the website do not reflect the actual apartment. It was livable, but not worth the money we paid.

  • Liz was very friendly and generally answered questions quickly. She was flexible which was a plus. Overall it what a pleasant experience. The only negative thing, is that the place wasn't very clean. It was definitely livable, but not what you would hope for in a place you're renting.

  • Liz is incredibly friendly and helpful. Room had a comfortable bed, dresser, and desk. Convenient location near the J/Z and L line. Neighbors can be a bit noisy but it gets quiet before 9PM or so. Great stay!

  • Liz was very nice and very hospitable. She made herself available in case we needed anything. Like some have said, it wasn't clean as I thought it would be but all in all a.pleasant experience.

  • Liz is phenomenal. She instantly made me feel right at home, made sure I was comfortable, and offered any information/advice that she thought I would find useful. She was an enormous help during my three-night stay while I was trying to find an apartment to rent. On the third day, I honestly didn't want to leave because I was so happy right where I was at Liz's home! I would strongly recommend that everyone book with Liz. She'll make your visit to New York so much more easier and all the more enjoyable.

  • Staying with Liz was great. She was very kind, and the apartment was only a few blocks from the subway. Room was small, but fine for a short stay.

  • First and foremost, Liz is a great host and person. After the New Year's Eve party I got separated from my brother and he was left stranded in manhattan. Liz got out of bed to drive me back to Times Square to bring him home. That is great kindness and human spirit.

The apartment is cool. Right next to the train line to manhattan.

    Comfortable and clean.

    Thank you Liz!!

  • Stayed at Liz's apartment with my family and relatives over the New Year holidays and the 12 of us fit quite comfortably. The basic amenities are sufficient such as the beds, the kitchen, the toilets and the wifi internet connection, all of which are very important to us.

The place is near the subway station (J Line), around 5 minutes away by foot, which is right next to a couple of grocery stores.

Two hings which need improving are one, the lock in one of the bathrooms which Liz said a former guest had broken, and two, the area where the old gym equipment are stocked could be maximized. Also, if you plan to use the free cellphones, let Liz know ahead of time so she can arrange for them.

But the best thing about our stay was Liz herself. As described in other reviews, she is a perfect host: gracious, sociable, congenial and helpful to the last minute. We especially appreciated her assisting us in getting 2 taxis to take us to the airport which could have been really challenging (with all our luggage!) because of the snowfall the day we left.

Thanks for a wonderful stay, Liz! See you soon!

  • Liz was amazing!!!! we had a group of 16 students staying during the New Year week. It was a little packed for that many people but you can manage it as long as you don't bring too much luggage. The train stations, grocery stores are close. She was really helpful with everything

About
I have been hosting international students for approximately 2 years and I have enjoyed it immensely. I was approached to expand this hosting beyond students so I am now looking forward to making your travels to New York affordable, equal in quality to a hotel stay, and provide as much or as little as your require. I have traveled to Japan, Ghana, West Africa, Hawaii, Dominican Republic, Aruba, Bahamas, Victoria in British Columbia, Canada, Toronto, Canada and throughout the US. My son has accompanied me on most of my travels and he has also traveled to Italy, France, London and Spain. Travel is meant to be great and nothing less. All my travels have been great and memorable and I look forward to making yours the same. Until we meet------------- Liz
