PLEASE , DO NOT DESTROYED THE APARTMENT:)
Very nice apartment with lots of space and very clean. Very central but in a bit sketchy area.
Miglen's apartment was very nice and spacious. We enjoyed the common area with a table and chairs for all 5 people. We enjoyed a small breakfast every morning in our room too.
The location was pretty centered and close to Monastiraki, Plaka and Acropolis. It had a good access to Omonia metro station, and in a walkable distance to Syntagma square. Because the location is in the center of Athens, the streets are very loud 24/7.
Overall, thank you Miglen for our stay.
The area around the apartment seems quite downgraded but it is generally secure (more attention is necessary at night). There is quite heavy traffic on the street, which gives a feeling of additional security.
The instructions given by the host how to reach the location were very helpful.
The apartment is one ordinary old apartment of the thousands that one can find in Athens. The bedrooms were okay, corresponding to the description. However, there was some noise coming from the street and there was no air-condition, which can be a problem in hot summer days. Moreover, there isn't any real living room, which would be an asset for a group of friends or a family; instead, one can use a table and a couch with a TV set, which are placed at the entrance hall (a confined and small place surrounded by doors).
There is one bathroom and one WC, however the flush of the bathroom’s toilet was broken. I reported the problem but it was not fixed. As a result, we could only use one toilet (for a group of seven people this was a problem).
After our departure, I was informed by our - otherwise kind - host that he would charge me an additional 50€ on my credit card, since he claimed that we forgot a pair of keys on the apartment’s main door and it had to be broken. As I had serious doubts whether his claim was true, I asked him which pair of keys he found on the door but he didn’t reply further. I’d like to add that the main door’s lock was anyway broken from the beginning, so we could not lock neither from the inside nor from outside.
Fortunately, when booking through Airbnb, one should not worry too much about unjustified additional charges; the system's safeguards are strong and effective.
At my next visit to the beautiful city of Athens I would prefer to stay somewhere else.
All Good Just to mentioned :
... As , I explained very detailing , The key have to be on the table when the Guests leave . If the keys are on the door ( from the inside ), and you shut the door , nobody can enter , as with my key I can't push the key inside and open the door . So , I should call locksmith to open and change the door lock :)
... I dont remember the room number written of keys .
As , I don't need to remember this . The Booking was made from You , ( the person Responsible for the rules in the apartment ) , and ... I was OK to forget this situation But , Just to know that the Guests are responsible for the place they rent , I will open a case , So you will Pay . Just Will be Much better to be careful with the House rules and Respect your Host as he make this for you ;)
About the toilet flush , The problem was , that there is written pull gently !!!
When you pull with power the flush has blocked . This is the reason to have note " Pull Gently " :)))
Hope to understand the situation . Also , Very , Very strange is that you are one and only from my guests , ( from more then 100 guests for the last 4 Years in Airbnb ) , had issue with the apartment and the area after my note to You for the Keys !
Not Good :))) Be nice and honest , This will Help You ;)
With My Best Wishes ,
Great apartment, fully equipped and comfortable and the price is very reasonable. We were 7 friends staying for 14 days in February - March. Miglen´s family was very nice to us, discreet but always available and helpful if we needed anything. The common areas were cleaned every day and breakfast was served every morning. The apartment is conveniently placed in the center of Athens, within walking distance to many of the city´s main attractions. There is a small supermarket just across the street and a nice little coffee shop with some wonderful pastries right next to the building entrance. Miglen answered all requests promptly in the weeks before our arrival, which was highly appreciated. We recommend this apartment to a big family or a group of friends.
Thank you so much!
