The Space

This first floor one-bedroom apartment is located in the heart of Recoleta, one of the most sophisticated barrios in Buenos Aires.

The living room has a sofa with a pull-out bed and a three-door built-in closet. The bedroom contains a King size bed (1.5×1.9).

The full bathroom has a bathtub with shower. The kitchen contains a marble slab countertop, a refigerator with freezer, microwave, kitchenware, and tableware for four. The apartment is equipped with Wi-Fi, cable, telephone, kitchen ware, tableware, 100% Cotton linens and towels.

Nearby attractions include the Recoleta Cemetary, the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora del Pilar, The National Museum of Fine art, and the iconic Alvear Palace Hotel.

You'll Find Recoleta is the place to be in Buenos Aires, since it's the most traditional neighbourhood and it's half way from Palermo, San Telmo, La Boca and the rest areas with lots of public transport at hand.

Recoleta is one of the most residential neighborhoods in the city; it's an area of great historical and architectural interest, due, particularly to the Recoleta Cemetery located 4 blocks away from the place. It is really the cultural center of the city.

Lots of shopping, dining and wining are available in Recoleta. And in case you want to get to know some other neighbourhood, the “D Metro Line” of the Buenos Aires Subway passes through LA Recoleta as many other bus lines.

Together with some sections of the neighboring communities of Retiro and Palermo, Recoleta is part of the area known as Barrio Norte, Buenos Aires, a traditional residential zone for the city’s most affluent families, where a great portion of the cultural life of the city is concentrated.

FYI Lots of Tango in this area, there's a different Milonga for each day of the week and it's up to you to make it happen and come to Buenos Aires!

  • Mateo was extremely helpful and responsive. However there are NO proper windows (i.e natural light) in the place. Very claustrophobic. I would also recommend getting new pillows in the bedroom.

  • The location of this apartment is FANTASTIC, especially if want to experience the city like a real porteno. This is a classic building next to the EU Ambassador to Argentina. The apartment is simple, clean, nice, good light, great WIFI, cable, etc. Only suggestions would be to add a few extra towels, consider providing shampoo, and perhaps get slightly fluffier pillows. Otherwise, I love it and the price is very fair. I would definitely stay here again. Also, Mateo and his team were excellent and checked in on me to make sure that all my needs (including a specific request for an adaptor) were met. Highly recommend this apartment.

  • Mateo was a fantastic host. He let us leave our luggage in the office until we could check in, he gave us a short tour of Recoleta, gave us details on where to go/bus tours/things to see etc, showed us around the apartment and gave us his business card should we need to contact him. We were very very impressed and felt like he went over and above to make sure we were happy.

Recoleta is a lovely area to stay, its a pretty residential area very close to the Cemetery, 5 minute walk to the busy shopping street of Sante Fe and only 10 mins walk to the D line metro to get into the centre. The apartment is great value for money. It is worth remembering that you are not paying for luxury, the apartment is very small (great for a couple) and needs a new layer of paint (white walls are grubby), but its great for the price and location. We loved BA and cant wait to go back!

  • What i like in this apartment: is well located and it gives a opportunity to stay at Recoleta, a great neighborhood in Buenos Aires, for a low price. A 13 minutes walk from the subway and next to the main avanues where u can take cabs and buses (Callao, Santa Fe, Las Heras) - have yourself a map and enjoy!
What i didnt like in this apartment: it has a strong smell, not recommended if you're alergic, for example. I had some trouble sleeping on the first night because it was very hot and the air conditioner wasnt cold enough.
So, it's a very simple place, ideal for a couple or if you're traveling alone, and also for a short time trip.

  • We stayed in Mateo's apartment for one week during our stay in Buenos Aires. We couldn't have asked for a better stay! The apartment is perfectly located and we walked everywhere. It was also very well equiped with kitchen supplies and utensils. We couldn't have asked for anything more, and I definitely recommend this place as an amazing place to spend your time in Buenos Aires.

  • Great location and great hosts. Mateo and Kurt were awesome and very attentive. We had very small problems/questions and they responded very quickly. On our first night our bedframe cracked. I notified Mateo and Kurt and the very next morning Mateo came by and upgraded my girflriend and I to a larger apartment. That is the type of service you can expect to receive from Mateo and kurt. The building and area are very secure. A 5 minute walk to the Recoleta cemetery and great food and shopping. I would stay here again or in any of Mateo's apartments.

    Response from Mateo:

Jimmy, Thanks for staying with us. I hope you had a nice flight back to home. Best, Mateo

  • The apartment was quite dirty and smelled of mold and cigarettes. There were many cockroaches and a lot of ambient noise. I would not recommend this apartment to anyone who does not smoke and prefers a clean space.

  • A great place for a very affordable price! The location is great, near to many bars and restaurants in Recoleta. It is in a very safe neighborhood that you can walk around in at night. The apartment is comfortable and perfect for a solo traveler or for a couple. I definitely recommend this apartment.
