  • Such a wonderful place, Palacio is a great place, very near to public transportation and all kind of convenience stores , cafes and restaurants. I was only 3 blocks away from one of my favorite milongas ( Yira Yira). The room was very clean and quiet, and the people in charge of the place were very helpful and wonderful host, I have recommended the place to all my friends traveling to Buenos Aires and will continue to do so.

  • We arrived on january1 in an empty Buenos Aires, after some walk we finally found our beautiful house...an old palace with wood floors and painted walls...a real "chateau" not far from S.Telmo. Big room with a shared bathroom. A lovely experience!

  • Cee Jay wasn't there, but we were well hosted by Will and Lydia who were kind and available to us. Will gave us come precious information about the city and places to go. The house is huge and wonderful, though it could be in better shape. The house is well located and it's easy to get anywhere in the city. The kitchen wasn't clean but the bedroom and the bathroom were nice. The days we spent there were extremely hot and it was hard to sleep without air conditioning. The room is big and everything works. Can't say we felt like home but, yes, we did have a nice time at Cee Jay's place.

    Response from Cee Jay:

Thank you for your comments. We are working hard to ensure that the kitchen is clean and tidy for guests at all times.
This year's heatwave was unusual, sorry for the inconvenience. There are 5ft tall floor-standing fans in all the bedrooms The reason we do not have air-conditioning is that it would more than double the cost of the rooms.

  • We enjoyed our stay in this amazing house very much! Our room was very clean and cosy and the house has a huge rooftop terrace and a lovely garden! Also it is located in a very nice area with a lot of historical buildings. And it is very close to one of the main bus stations of Buenos Aires and therefore easy to reach.

The price is more than fair and if one day I come back to Buenos Aires I would stay there again! I can just highly recommend this! Thanks again for everything Will, Lydia and Cee Jay!

  • We had a good time in the palace. Very good location to explore the city. Very nice and helpful people. Beautiful house, big and nice bathroom. Unfortunately we caught a period of insupportable heat in the city and although there was a fan in the room, the air was quite bad because you couldn´t open the window. Due to the summer and the area there was power black out the last night. But that´s common in the city. For the very affordable price we can really recommend the place.

  • The ´mint´ room is a very comefortable, large room with a palacial but homely feel.
Will and Lydia who were housesitting during our stay extended a very warm welcome and were friendly, approacable and full of advice on BA, and the bars, restaurants and shops in the immediate vicinity throughout our stay.
SanTelmo is a short walk away and has a wide choice of relaxed cafes.
The pets in the yard are very friendly, and, so long as you don´t mind being woken by the cockerel each morning (we didn´t), make for a fun houshold.

  • Staying here was a real pleasure, so much character in the house. The house sitters were very kind and we felt at home from the start. Great bathroom and bubble bath :) I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to see and feel a real historic part of San Telmo!

  • Tom and Jane were very good hosts: kind, accommodating, and helpful—they'd come let you in any time of the night. They opened up their whole house (except their own living quarters) to our use. And what a house it is; old and majestic, from the early 20th century, adjacent to the cool neighborhood of San Telmo. The house is undergoing some interior remodeling and redecoration (as of October 2013), so some rooms are unfurnished, but our room had a comfortable bed and a luxurious bathroom. Our room didn't have a window, but some of the other rooms do. In our experience, the hot water usually ran out before the tub was full, but it was always fine when showering.

Overall, it was a really good place to stay, and at the price point, it would be hard to beat. I'd recommend it!

  • This truly is an amazing place. You walk around the main hall and side rooms in awe - it' a taste of Buenos Aires' first few colonial buildings.

Jane and Tom are great hosts; though my girlfriend and I weren't able to take advantage of the offer, Jane is also able to offer a good price for top notch tango lessons.

If we're lucky enough to come to Buenos Aires again, we'll look to stay here again for sure.
