Interaction with Guests

This is a great neighbourhood because there aren't too many tourists so you can see how locals really live! It's also close to lots of tourist spots (casa rosada, congreso, cafe Tortoni, palacio barolo, calle Florida) so you have the best of both worlds.
We are just 3 blocks from Independencia and San Jose subway stations (C line and E line) and near many different bus stops.
Other Things to Note
This is a lovely family area, with the university one block behind and 4 or 5 schools in the neighbourhood, many local bakeries, grocery stores, butchers, stationers, most everything you could need! We are also super close to the downtown tourist spots like Confiteria Ideal, Cafe Tortoni, the casa rosada and congreso building.
Only registered guests arThanks!e welcome in the house unless by prior agreement.
Please do not drag suitcases up and down the stairs. We will be happy to help carry them when you arrive and depart. Dragging cases causes damage to stairs and paintwork.
If a guest loses their fronThanks!t door keys, they will be asked to cover the cost of changing the locks and having new keys made.
Smoking is only allowed in the garden. There is an ashtray on the table for cigarette ends.
We may ask to take a copy of your passport for security.
A change of towels and sheets is available once a week. If you would like to change them more often, the surcharge is $5 for towels and $5 for sheets per room.
Guests are responsable for clearing and cleaning their plates, cutlery and pans if they use the kitchen/dining area. Please do not use place settings laid out for the other guests who have paid for breakfast. If you have a full bag of rubbish in the trash can, please bring it down and ask for a new bag.
Our dog and cat live outside, please let us know if they sneak in as they are not toilet trained!
Bookings for events must be made separately.

We had the most marvelous stay in this charming old mansion. While most spaces are empty in this historic home, we had a great room and a newly remodeled bathroom that was shared with just another room. Keys are really fun and old school like you would see in Cinderella.
Room has a fan and plenty of places to charge electronic devices. Be warned, however... This noise on the street throughout the night can be overwhelming. If you are a light sleeper, I do recommend you find somewhere quieter as the garbage man decided to come at 0346 in all of its screeching glory.
Water is potable, and location is about 1.5 or 2 miles from the Pink House. So a bit of walking, but the subway station is nearby.
Lina is fantastic. Super nice and was helpful in providing information about laundry and helping us get a taxi.
I would stay here again though. This time... With earplugs!
A very nice place to stay!
the house is incredible with a very nice atmosphere. Easy to reach central place in the city. The room was large and cosy. Nice garden for home evening!
a special thanks to lina and alex. Very helpfull and kind people, they help you make your stay in BA easier!
It's true. It is really an old palace. Pretty fantastic and interesting place. I took a lot of photos and was very interested to hear about the history of the place. It is being restored nicely but luckily much of it is in original beautiful condition. The room was comfortable and the hosts were super nice and helpful. Very positive experience.
Fui recebida pela Lina e ela foi super atenciosa. A casa é linda, limpa e aconchegante. A localização é ótima, perto de vários pontos turísticos.
100% recommend. Stayed here for nearly three weeks and it is a great place where you will meet interesting people. The location was perfect for walking to San Telmo and Plaza de Mayo. It has two amazing butchers and two fabulous bakeries really close too. It is definitely somewhere where you will feel like a local Argentinian as opposed to just another tourist. Also there is the cutest dog ever.
Amazing place to stay! Historical building in a walkable part of town. Worked out quite well for us. Thank you!!
My stay was great! The entire building was spotless and looked exactly like the photos. The garden was a nice little refuge on a hot summer day. Alex and Lina were great - they were not only helpful, but just really nice people. The pets were also good fun to have around, and make you feel at home.
I felt completely safe in the area, and found it to be well-located. There's a Subte stop a short walk from the apartment.
I wouldn't hesitate to return, or to recommend the room to other travellers. It is on a bit of a busy street, but it is in a major city, so I feel like that's kind of expected .
