We are located in the heart of Chicago 2 blocks from the El train. We are a 10 min train ride from downtown and about a 45 min ride from the airports. We live in a very artistic, lively neighborhood, near a beautiful park, museum, and good food.
Hello, my name is Andrea, when I'm not traveling, I love bringing the world to my home through hosting. I fell in love with hosting as an exchange student and therefore have a soft spot for exchange students.
Our home is kid friendly, bright, spacious and homey. It is an urban style apartment, very trendy. We have many cafe's, vintage shops and art studios within walking distance.
Our neighborhood Pilsen is very artsy, affordable and rich in Mexican Culture. It's near downtown, UIC, Medical District, McCormick Place and public transportation (2 blocks to pink line and 1 block Damen bus). We also live across the street from a free museum and park with tons of activities (free pool, gym small fee).
My household consists of myself, my husband, and three daughters. We have a 4 year old and 2 year old twins. We would allow our guests to cook, but we ask that they clean up when they are done as well as keep their space clean. We will provide a continental breakfast of coffee, tea, waffles, and fruit. We keep our home very clean, especially for our children, we are looking for someone who shares the same living style, so we can all get along. We only have one bathroom which is shared. If this sounds like a fit for you please feel free to contact me. We look forward to meeting you and sharing our home.
guest will have access to the yard, bathroom, their room, and living room. There is also a public pool across the street they can access during open swim hours. Guest will also have access to open public parking.
Interaction with Guests
We interact with guests as much as they like and our schedules permit. Guests are always welcomed to join us out for a night on the town if we go out and we also invite guests to family parties, we just put out invitations to guests and enjoy new company but would never awkwardly pressure anyone. We also respect guests privacy, so if they do not want to interact we totally understand. We know they may have full agendas and just want to sleep when they get home.
I love how our neighborhood is covered in murals and bright colors. Its very artistic and rich in Mexican culture. The people are pretty friendly and inviting and proud to be from Pilsen. We are also located right in the heart of chicago, so everything is just a short train ride away. Pilsen also has a great lively energy.
Yes the Pink line train is 2 blocks away and the the orange line is also close by. We are also a block from the Damen bus.
Other Things to Note
We have a dog so not a good place for anyone allergic to dogs.
We are very clean and expect our guests to be cleanly. We take pride in having a clean home. We also take off our shoes when entering our home, so guests must take off their shoes. Guests would be allowed to cook, we just ask that they would wipe down premises and do dishes when they are done. Other than that we really don't have a curfew, just let us know if you plan on coming home late so we can put dog away so barking does not wake up girls. We don't mean to sound so strict but we would rather lay out the rules now and ensure our guests they are welcomed to a clean and cozy home.
Although Andrea was not there to host us, she was in very good communication with us when required. The apartment was very clean and tidy as well as being well equipped. The room we slept in was fairly comfortable and tidy.
The apartment is very well located for transport, as the subway is 2 minutes away which was useful and the neighborhood seemed friendly although we did not experience it much. Overall, this was very good value for our money and we had a great trip to Chicago!
Wonderful stay at a nice Airbnb, conveniently located close to a subway station. Would recommend!
It was a wunderful time with Andrea and Tony and their family. Very nice room, very clean, very nice mexican neighbourhood, just a few stops by pink line to downtown. We will come back again.
The place is great! The bed is comfortable, bathroom is clean and the subway satiation is less than 5-mins walk. Andrea is a great and worm hostess! The day we got there was worm but the next day was super cold, we don't have enough clothes and Andrea nicely gave us a dozen of coats to choose. That saved ours day. The 3 girls are also very lovely, Emma offered me the plasticine ice cream :) I will definitely recommend Andrea's home.
My partner and I enjoyed our two nights stay at Andrea's.
Great location, walking distance to subway station and 10 minutes to city center by subway. Cozy room with super soft bed. Super clean environment!
Andrea, Tony, their three cute girls and rockstar are great hosts! Weather in Chicago got freezing on second day of our stay and we didn't bring enough clothes, Andrea gave us her warm coats which was super sweet!
I would highly recommend this place!
My partner and I stayed with Andrea and her family for a weekend in the city and immediately felt welcome. Andrea was a fantastic host and the rest of the family was a pleasure to be around. The house was clean and the bed was very comfortable.
The location was a short train ride to the downtown and there were some great restaurants in the immediately surrounding neighborhood. I can highly recommend staying with Andrea.
I spent 5 days with a friend in Andrea's apartment and we enjoyed our stay in Chicago. Andrea, Tony, and the 3 kids were very friendly and always smiling! The location was very convenient (10 mins to downtown by train), and there was a divvy bike station just 2 min away. Andrea left us some coffee to start the day and that was really enjoyable!
The neighborhood was also very safe and with some nice little bars/restaurant s to chill in. A nice concert was organised in the park just outside for the Mexican independence day and that was really fun with good music and food!
The last day I had some work to do waiting for my evening flight. I was able to stay at home, Andrea gave me some food and we chatted about all and nothing.
Chicago is an amazing city!
Thanks Andrea and the family!

I love dance, art, upcycling, biking, traveling and meeting new people. I have a wonderful husband with whom we have 3 wonderful girls. Were just out to explore the world and spread a little joy in the process. :) We also loving sharing our city, Chicago, with those visiting.
