The pleasure was ours. Thanks for being good guests!

  • Couldn't have asked for more.

    * The location is great for quickly walking into Hamilton; less than ten minutes to all the restaurants, shops, ferry etc.

    * The apartment was ideal for my wife and I - quiet, comfortable, all the amenities we needed.

    * Susan was wonderful - very friendly, helpful with tips and answers but never intrusive or in our way. Helped with pick up from the airport and what not too.

A great experience, especially for the price - very good value for money.

  • Susann is a very gracious host! Her place was affordable and very convenient to anywhere in Hamilton.

She took the time to help us orient to the city and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. She also pointed out some good places to eat for a variety of budgets.

    I highly recommend staying here!

  • My overall experience was great! Susann's description of her studio was completely accurate. Susann allowed me to check in earlier (since there was no overlap); she arranged reliable transportation to and from the airport; she helped me acclimate to the town right away with a walking tour. In addition, she was generous with providing detailed information and access to public transportation--which I loved using to explore the island, including the ferry to the dockyard. She also connected me with a great local person, who was very knowledgeable about the Bermuda Triangle Challenge events--which was my purpose for being in Bermuda.

Glad you had a great time Joyce, I enjoyed meeting you too.

  • Susann helped us find a place to stay under short notice and it literally ended up being the best place to stay in Bermuda that we could've imagined! It was right on the outskirts of Hamilton, with a kitchen and private bathroom - such a great little space! Susann made us feel so comfortable too, because she is he sweetest! It's like we had a family friend on the island! Tho is the perfect spot for a romantic trip for 2!

  • This is a great place to stay if you want the most out of your visit to Bermuda. It is central - walking distance to downtown / bus terminal, restaurants, and groceries virtually next door (1 minute walk).

Susan, the host, is very knowledgable and helpful. She knows all the tricks of the trade of getting around the island (and actually she knows lots of cool historical and ecological stuff sour Bermuda too!). I would definitely rent her place again, and would recommend it for any Bermuda-newbie.

The space itself is simple but it's everything you'll need for a travelling home base. Susan is very approachable as well as hospitable so there are never any silly questions. You'll see!

Thanks again Susan for your hospitality and advice - you contributed to our amazing trip to Bermuda.

  • Susann's place is just perfect for a relaxing trip to Bermuda a short walking distance from the central part of town and the bus terminal. The places was pristinely clean and stocked with everything we needed, from towels to dishes and cooking supplies to little extras like sunscreen and CDs. Susann gave us advice on what taxis to use and how to use the bus system that saved us money and allowed us to have a great experience fully exploring the island. She even walked us over to the grocery store and gave us a little tour of town! The studio is in a quiet location and so relaxing to just hang out in. We had a great time, and Susann was a great host!

  • Good Evening, all!

I was in Bermuda for a conference at the Fairmont Southampton, but was SO lucky to have found Susann's beautiful apartment instead of staying at the conference hotel. My colleagues were envious as I described my adventures by bus and ferry, chats with local residents, and island exploration. Bermuda is probably the friendliest place I've ever visited!

It started with an arrival visit from Susann. She knows everything about the island, and is so happy to share what she knows. It's obvious she loves her home! There are brochures and maps in the apartment, and Susann knows things the tourist bureau doesn't always share. For example, instead of buying tokens, there's a 15 pack of bus/ferry tickets available for $30.

The apartment was clean, very well equipped, and the location was ideal! I felt safe and comfortable. Susann and her mother are delightful, caring people. I will definitely go back to Bermuda and stay at their place.

    Another great experience with airbnb!

About
Hello there! Here I am showing the beautiful panoramic view of St. George's Harbour at the eastern end of the islands of Bermuda to a guest visitor. Like yourself I am a world traveler and know that a great stay in any country includes cultural immersion. I enjoy meeting people from any country, creed, or ethnic walk of life and would be happy to chat about my island home and tell you where to go and how to get there. Feel free to ask. However I also respect privacy and know that sometimes you want to get away from it all and do your own thing too. I hope you enjoy your stay at Astwood Close, which is a neighbourhood comprised of a branch of cousins from the Astwood family clan. Our family name in Bermuda dates back over a century with our European ancestors hailing from Great Britain by way of Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean. I like gardening and you will notice the kitchen garden and other plants on your way to the Efficiency Studio tucked away. Don't be afraid to ask for fresh vegetables! We also have a peach tree that gives juicy peaches when in season. I am very athletic and run early mornings at least twice a week. You are welcome to join me if this is your thing. I also like to dance and minister in dance weekly at my church. You are welcome to join me at services on a Wednesday evening or Sunday morning, but again the choice is yours. Well that's it about me for now,...... you will have to learn the rest when you get here :)
