ottima location puita e confortevole, vicina alla metro ma anche in ottima posizione se decidete di passeggiare a piedi. Alberto è molto accomodante e disponibile.
my friend and I had a really good time in New York. The apartment is really easy to reach and there you have a very good starting point to discover the city. Although you have to climb high butits worth it because directly over you is the roof, from where you have a great and authentic overview of the neighborhood (Brooklyn Bridge),.
Even if the neighbors could perhaps be a little more friendly, I have to say that Alberto is an absolutely perfect and very likeable host . He answers emails quickly and was always available locally. Upon our arrival, he expected usat the apartement and gave us useful and interesting advices, what let us feel very welcomed.
(Highly recommended is a visit to his Italian bakery on Lexington!)
Our flight back to Germany was in the evening and we could easily stay in the apartment until the afternoon. we had a really good time! Thank alberto ! All the best with the second bakery! We will surely comearound again!
Alberto was very nice and helpful. The apt was like expected from the photos, everything went very well. Chinatown is a bit loud but a good spot to explore the city. Metro is 5 min walk away. F-Train takes you nearly everywere important.
If you only consider the appartment, this one is correct : 8 mins walk from F line and 4 mins walk from M15 bus. Everything inside was correct and worked perfectly. Alberto was nice even if he didn't give news for the check out...
The cons are about the building and the neighbours, you have to be in shape to take a 5 level stairs everyday and two times with all your baggages. Some asian families in the building are rude, cooks stinky food all day and are not very welcoming even through i'm asian myself. The quarter around the building is disgusting and stinks the shrimp and garbage all day.
If you can disregard all that, the appartment was good and dispite all that, we had a very pleasant trip in alberto's appartment.
Alberto's apt is really well-located !! Near the F train, the East Bway station is a 8 min walk. It's also a 20 min walk from the WTC, really close to the Downtown or Tribeca !
Alberto is a great host ! He perfectly answered our questions through e-mails and phone. We met him when we arrived at the apt and he was very kind and friendly.
The apt was pretty cool ! It was as described in the ad. Perfect for a couple.
The neighborhood was safe and calm, we've had no problem with the neighbors.
The appliances worked well, the A/C was appreciated !!
A really great experience !
Alberto's 1BR apartment is quaint, and worked perfectly for me as I was in New York for a workshop in Tribeca.
The apt is cute and the location is good and Alberto is a friendly host. However, the people that live in this building are not happy that Alberto is renting out his place. Twice during my stay I had someone bang on the walls at me, once as I was sitting watching TV at a normal volume and the other time I was in the bedroom having a conversation in my normal speaking voice. This made me constantly worried that I was keeping the families that live in the building around me awake so I had to tiptoe around the apartment all the time which is not a comfortable way to spend vacation. Probably just gonna suck it up and spring for a hotel room next time.
Alberto is a nice host und very helpful. There were no problems with him and he could give us good infos about NYC.
Only two things disturbed something: Chinatown itself is a nit loud but this one has a good location of the apartment. The other thing was that the doorbell has rang every day at ca. 9 pm and then for a few times!
However otherwise everything was great, the subway is only 5 minutes away and the apt was very clean, so we had a great time there!
Alberto's place is well located for transit: the M15 and F train are both conveniently close. The unit itself is fine: the wifi was fantastic, appliances all worked, bed was very comfy.
We had a problem with check-in: he couldn't meet us there and didn't designate a third party, but asked us to collect the key at his restaurant, which is so far uptown that it changed our route into the city (Washington Bridge instead of Holland Tunnel), got us stuck in Manhattan rush hour traffic, and added two hours to my drive.
About the street: it's not like anywhere else I've stayed in New York (Chelsea, Hell's Kitchen, LES, even Bed-Stuy) with cafes, bodegas, and nightlife; this part of Chinatown feels quite commercial, almost everything shuts down after business hours. It was a lot grittier than I was expecting, as was the building itself. Some travellers may adore this as part of their authentic New York experience, but it was not my cup of Jasmine tea.
Another good thing: we were able to negotiate a great deal with the parking attendant across the street. And while we never met Alberto in person, he was unfailingly friendly and chatty in communications.
