Karin's place is really well located, the room is nice and cosy. We stayed for a few days, and the only drawback was the noise. The room is just under Karin's kitchen and living room, and we could hear all that was happening upstairs, sometimes very late at night and early in the morning!
We were also disappointed that there were not any bikes for us to use. Karin's niece, Julie, was really nice and took care of us.
It was an easy/comfortable room, host was very friendly, and location was great!
We loved Amsterdam! Karin and her family are very friendly and very happy to share their local knowledge. The room is clean and comfortable, however we were disappointed at how much the noise from the room above carried into our room, a little too early in the morning. There was also a bad smell in out bathroom throughout.
LOVED our stay in the boathouse. Only thing we would have changed is to stay longer :) Great location, cozy and nice room. Karin was very sweet and her son as well who met us when we checked in and showed us the ropes. Thanks for a great experience at your place, Karin. There is a good chance we will see you again in the future :) Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home! -Rachel and Jon
Karin is the sweetest lady ever. the bedroom is more like a studio. very clean and the bed is very comfortable. love the huge windows and the free bike. location is also great, 10 min walk from dam square and 15min walk from central station! i booked an extra day by accident but karin gave me a refund. will definitely stay here again!
Lovely stay with Karin and her family.
We loved our stay at The Boathouse in Amsterdam! Karin and the room are very friendly and welcoming - the room is spacious with every you need a for a short trip to Amsterdam.
You couldn't have asked for a better location! The Boathouse is perfectly situated with everything you need to see in Amsterdam within walking distance.
Guests must be aware that this is Karin's family home so there was quite a bit of noise from the family kitchen above - footsteps, pots and pans, talking etc - which took a bit of getting used to on the first morning, but it certainly didn't disrupt or ruin a lovely weekend.
Karin, The Boathouse and the location come highly recommended!
I really enjoyed my stay at the Boathouse. Karin is a perfect host and the studio is nice and cosy. It is perfectly located in the center of Amsterdam, in walking distance from many sightseeing places as well as public transport hubs such as "Nieuwmarkt" and the main station. I can highly recommend the Boathouse!
I visited Amsterdam with my boyfriend and we stayed at Karin's place for a weekend. It was really nice, next to the center, we could have our privacy and our bikes :) Karin is a very charming person and ready to provide any information we needed. We totally recommend it!
Karin's place is great! The location is ideal - walking distance from Central Station and everything you want to see in Amsterdam. The room and private bathroom felt very secluded and very comfortable. Karin also gave us some great recommendations of free concerts going on in the city. Would highly recommend!!!
Great people to stay with. the room is on the first floor with an attached bathroom. Very comfortable and a fairly quite canal street. This is certainly well worth the money that I paid.
