This cozy 2-level apartment in a typical building has the most center location you can have in Rome!!! It is just some meters from the Roman Forum and Piazza Venezia and you can easily walk to all historical sites. It is 5 minutes walk to Trevi fountain, Colosseum, and the main shopping area of Via del Corso and also Via Nazionale.
The apartment is in the historical center just on the edge of famous Monti district which is full of charm and is considered one of the most authentic places in Rome. It has great traditional restaurants and is famous for its authentic shops. It is loved by locals.
The apartment has two levels and is suitable up to 4 persons. Downstairs there is a living room with an equipped open kitchen. The living room has a new comfortable sofa bed which is easy to open and close. There is also a big door window to the pedestrian street which has a dark glass. Upstairs there is a double bedroom ( with a new bed basis) and a bathroom with a shower.
It is also very well connected to public transport.
3G WIFI portable modem. You can take it out of the apartment and have a wifi spot around the city.
NO smoking allowed in the apartment.
Bedlinen and towels provided.
The location of Jane's apartment is absolutely ideal. It is within walking distance to the major sights and was easily accessible. Jane was also very quick in her communications. We found the bed to be very comfortable as well as that is something I consider to be a very important part of an accommodation. The water heater in the shower is smaller than average so showers must be a bit strategic, but this is something I was aware of coming in from other reviews. I have two complaints/recommendations. The shower does leak if the shower head isn't positioned correctly, which was a bit annoying especially when I slipped. Good thing I am young and have good balance. ;-) The review below me said the kitchen was stocked with all the cooking necessities, but we didn't find things like olive oil, salt/pepper, basic pantry items, etc. This was disappointing to us as we expect these basics when not staying in a hotel where breakfast can be provided. Either they weren't there or we just didn't find them! At the end of the day though, we were relatively happy with our stay in this fantastic location. Jane wasn't there to check us in, but a friend of hers was, and he recommended a fantastic place nearby for dinner. Anyone staying here, try to get to II Colonne, delicious food and amazing prices!
The best thing about this apartment is its excellent location--it's within walking distance or a short taxi/bus/metro ride to all sites. We appreciated the modern decor and amenities, particularly in contrast to the historical building. Jane was responsive, and her friend, Flaviano, was also very helpful when we ran into any issues during our stay. We found the space to be slightly cramped for three adults and 1 teen (little privacy), and the bathroom could use an update (hot water sometimes ran out, a little mildew around the shower, and shower leaked if you didn't limit water output), but nothing that really impacted the stay. The 3G hotspot was great to bring around during outings, though it was difficult to get much reception in the apartment itself. The kitchen was well stocked, with thoughtful inclusion of some spices, olive oil, vinegar, etc. Overall, we had a great stay--you really can't beat the location. Thanks, Jane!
The apartment had an excellent location - very near the ancient attractions. But there were trade offs... The flat consisted of two long narrow rooms, one on top of the other and connected with a rather steep metal staircase. The lower floor had a nicely equipped kitchen at the far end and the upper floor had a toilet/shower at the same end. There was a window upstairs with a street view but no window downstairs - only a glass door covered by a roll-up which we were advised to keep down for security (meaning no ambient light). Because of space the water heater was undersized - barely enough for one hot shower. The "wi-fi" was a portable 2G or 3G hotspot which proved unacceptable because of the thick concrete walls. The manger was helpful but his solution was to bring in a new hotspot (which he had to do twice). In summary, as with every location there are pluses and minuses.
thank you for your review that always helps me to improve my apartments.
I only want to say that the roll-up of the living room could be left open all day long especially if you are in the apartment. The glass door inside is strong enough considering the safe apartment location.
About the wifi spot, it usually works properly in the apartment if you put it close to the window of the upper floor. The fact that you can take it around the city is very convenient.
Amazing location. The appartment is located in a wonderful area of Rome. That's wonderful !!!! Jane is also very sympathic. However, be careful of the bed base which is not a real bed base but simple planks set upon rails (I fell from the bed twice, that's a bit annoying). Also the hot water tank is very very small therefore forget long shower (even medium, after 3min, you do not have hot water any more). Last point, the shower cubicle leaks... The bathroom can easily looks like a swimming pool. We had a great stray though.
This location in Rome was perfect. Your front door opens to an amazing city.. You can walk everywhere. Jane's apartment was great for our stay.. Cheers!
We had a wonderful stay at Jane's apartment. Although we arrived late at night, Alessandro waited for us and introduced us to the apartment. The location is unbeatable - a walking distance from the major attractions in Rome.
The apartment was clean and inviting. It had all the necessary conditions to make our stay comfortable and fun. The portable modem was a great addition, and allowed us to have Wi-Fi all day while we toured the city.
I highly recommend Jane's apartment and will definitely chose to stay there on my next visit to Rome.
Excellent value for money; i stayed in early October with my 67 year old mother. Alessandro greeted us (a friend of Jane) and gave a thorough overview of the apartment and where to purchase groceries. The apartment is a large loft , with a large bathroom upstairs and reasonable food preparation area downstairs; it is in the front section of a secure apartment building so suitable for women travelling ( from a safety point of view). Four people or a family could comfortably stay for several days. there is a limitation of natural light downstairs, and at times upstairs, however this was not a major issue, and there was plenty of fresh air via the window upstairs. Location is magnificent from a sightseeing point of view (despite all past reviews i was still pleasantly surprised at just how close the apartment is to major sights). Noise at night from traffic (steady flow throughout night) and occasional late night revellers ( 2-3 times per night) does disrupt sleep - i found difficult to block with earplugs - although my mother downstairs seemed less bothered by it. Overall recommendation: add this property to your Rome short list - it's a winner from a value/quality perspective.
Wow, wow, wow, wow.....is all we kept saying! What a location. If you're going to do Rome this is the place. Thanks Jane for being such a great host!
We had a fantastic stay at Jane's apartment in Rome. The location could not have been better, walking distance to so many of the main attractions. The apartment itself was clean and comfortable and Jane was extremely helpful before and during our stay. The internet was really useful as well. Many thanks!
Jane's apartment is absolutely wonderful. The location of the apartment is just so perfect to explore Rome. You are really in the center's center. There are so many beautiful places to explore that are right at your front doorstep. The apartment itself is spacious, clean and comfortable. The Internet is really nice, you can even take it out and about with you for a few hours. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Rome.
