Krisit is the most fabulous host! We were treated like family throughout our stay at Kristi's Urban Farm. We were in the process of moving to Nashville from Tampa and while house hunting stayed at the farm for 2 months...had we not found a house, Kristi never would have gotten rid of us!:) Our 1 year old loved all the animals, and spent hours looking out the window watching all the animals and learning the sounds they make. Ever so often you meet "really good people" in life, and Kristi and her family are that. She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed (she even let my husband drive her big truck to run a quick errand during one of the fluke ice storms Nashville experienced during our stay). Kristi's top notch hospitality and her genuine desire to make sure we had a wonderful experience shows. We highly recommend escaping the city for a stay at the farm!
Kristi's place was just what we wanted for our Nashville getaway. Not only is Kristi a wonderful, welcoming host, as in the kind you'll want to stay in touch with - her listing was bigger and even more lovely than it appeared online. Kristi was friendly and available to chat with as much or as little as we needed. Both my husband and I felt like we left with a new friend, and our dog enjoyed his new playmates as well. We'll definitely be back!
This stay greatly exceeded my expectations. The location is perfect; close enough to it all, far enough away that you can get some peace and quiet. The apartment was so much bigger than I envisioned and by far the comfiest and most adorable place I've stayed. Kristi was the perfect host. I had everything I needed and the access to the awesome farm animals was a huge plus. I felt like Snow White. I'm already looking forward to staying again for more than just a weekend.
Kristi was a most gracious and welcoming host, she literally thought of everything! From the fridge stocked with wonderful farm eggs, to the shower having supplies (and a brand new scrubby ball for me), all the way down to the comfortable bed that had really soft sheets-- overall I just had a great time. It's no wonder she is a superhost! The house is delightful, even a bit bigger than I expected. She had a laundry room with detergent at my disposal, which is such a comfort when you're on the road. I got to sit down and talk with her awhile and meet her darling animals (which was awesome), but the rest of the time we both had independent lives. Her farm is just down the road from the loveless cafe, and everything in the general area (I found) the people to be extraordinarily friendly and even the grocery store made me feel like a Princess!!! It was awesome. I had a great experience.
We had a wonderful experience at the Nashville Urban Farm! It was just as we hoped - clean and cozy accommodations, picturesque view, and entertainment by way of the farm friends (hens, ducks, dogs and horses)! Plus, we were able to travel quickly and easily to events downtown, in East Nashville and more. My only regret is not making time to see Kevin Bacon. Kristi was friendly, helpful and always quick to respond - a great host!
Great place, Good Neighborhood, Kristi is a great host. Watching all the animals is entertaining. A herd of deer made an appearance. Close to shopping. We had a great time.
Kristi is the most wonderful host! She made us feel welcome and as if we were part of her family and home. She is warm and friendly and a delight to hang out with. I have made a new friend for life! If we wanted privacy, we had it. But, we really enjoyed sitting together on the patio, chatting, watching the horses in the field, feeding the pig, Kevin Bacon, petting Henny Penny, the hen, gathering freshly-laid eggs and feeding the ducks. The "apartment" is so quaint and cozy! We had everything we needed and plenty of room. We felt like it was our home away from home. A quick 10-15 drive gets you wherever you need to go, yet the location is exactly what it says, "Nashville Urban Farm". As I write this, my last day here, I'm watching the early morning fog lift from the Harpeth River, listening to the ducks quacking & hens clucking out side my window. The bird feeder is full of birds & the hummingbirds & butterflies are fluttering around the Morning Glories. Thank you Kristi for a wonderful time!
About the Host, Kristi
Easy-going and love spending time at home on the farm. Single Mom facing empty nest! My daughters and I moved to the mini farm in 2004. I was feeling the need to surround myself with the simple pleasures in life. This is one of the last farms, located within the Nashville city limits. A one of a kind, close to everything, yet the feeling like you are out in the country. My oldest daughter is now a senior at Rhodes. My youngest joined her sister at Rhodes as a freshman last year. This year she transferred to Vanderbilt University for her sophomore year. But wait! What about the horses, and that pig you had to have for Christmas! So I will have one back in Nashville to help with the farm.
It was my plan to sell the farm when the girls left for college. Maybe try a condo that didn't require much effort. The Nashville flood in 2010 changed my plan. We lost all of the barns, fencing and equipment. Being considered a farm, FEMA would not aid us in rebuilding. Things happen as they should, I could never live in a condo! The pictures you see are current and up to date. In June of this year, I moved my dad from his farm in Michigan, to our home in Nashville. He is suffering from Alzheimer's, and can no longer live alone. This is the reason, that I now have a thirty day minimum stay. This will allow me to spend more of my time, with my dad. Once that time is gone, I can never get it back.
