  • We had a great time at the Secret Falls Retreat. The view from the back of the property is amazing and we enjoyed our evenings gazing out over the forest. The staff were friendly and helpful. It is a very relaxing place and we enjoyed being able to use the well appointed communal kitchen.

  • Ed and everyone else in the house was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very peaceful and it was lovely to fall asleep to the rain and the frogs. The salt water pool and spa were lovely to relax in while admiring the view. A good location for exploring the island.

  • awesome place, awesome quiet location. just a 10-minute drive up a beautiful winding road from kapaa town, which is a good location itself because it's not too far to drive up north or down south.

house is clean, and feels like a little inn. staff is totally friendly and helpful, vibe is quiet. view is gorgeous too, since it's just a jungle hill directly behind the house, with a trail through the jungle that connects to the more frequented trail leading to Secret Falls.

had a great stay. would recommend this place to anyone!

  • My husband and I were only able to stay here for 3 nights and 4 days, but would have loved to have stayed longer. This B&B is located in a neighborhood with other houses but feels very very private. It's up on a hill overlooking a river valley which is a very beautiful setting. The bed was very comfortable. The pool and jacuzzi were great. Our favorite thing to do was sit in the jacuzzi in the evening while star gazing and looking out at the beautiful scenery. The hosts were very helpful, giving us advices for places to eat and things to do. You can rent kayaks very close to here and cruise around the Wailua river where you can see the fern grotto, jump off some rocks into the river, and hike to some secret waterfalls. It made for a great day. Overall we are very happy with our choice to stay at Secret Falls Retreat.

  • After some questionable places we stayed prior to Secret Falls, my boyfriend and I were just in complete awe of how amazing this place was. It could not have been any more perfect. Every aspect. Quiet, beautiful, great location, clean, efficient. Darcy and her mom were great. I cant say enough good things. We will definitely be back!

  • Kimo and Ally, the in-house managers were great, very helpful and sharing. Massages can be arranged and Kimo taught us how to make fresh POKE. The hot tub and pool are a nice addition. Our room was very clean, the stay was pleasant and the backyard view fantastic. There were quite a few people there including the extended family so at times it was quite an active place but we got a good night's sleep for nearby hiking and biking.

  • We loved Secret Falls retreat! Fantastic location overlooking the forest, tucked away in a neighborhood in the hills above Kapaa. Our hosts Kimo and Alli couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly. Met some other interesting travellers, too. Loved the hot tub, amazing landscaping, and comfy Valley View room.

  • We stayed here for two nights, what a wonderful room and lovely super friendly hosts. We were so happy to see it all when we arrived, wished we had stayed longer!!! There's a pool for guests to use anytime up to 10pm, the room was incredibly spacious and homely decorated with nice touches... We're definitely going to stay there again if we revisit. Oh yes, there's an excellent mexican resteraunt down the road called monicos which was incredibly friendly with great food :).

About
Aloha and Welcome! My name is Darcy Summer, my husband and I live rurally on a cattle ranch in northern BC, 54 miles up the Alaska Highway! Yup it is REALLY cold here in the winter, so enjoy some of that Hawaiian sunshine for me!! I also breed and show Gypsy Vanner horses, have 3 children, ages 2,6 and 9. We love the outdoors, hiking, boating, fishing, sledding, skating, skiing and horse back riding. We have 2 gardens and 2 greenhouses, so I freeze and can all the vegetables for our winter supply. We raise all our own meat, beef, pork, chickens, lamb, and fish for our yearly supply of salmon and halibut! As my educational background is in Botanical Medicine, prefer to live as organic and chemically free as possible. I had a private practice in the US before moving back home in 2001, now I chase children, cows and horses, and of course escape to Kauai a couple of times a year! The moment I viewed this house and property, I knew I had found our retreat ! I have always loved the tropics, but wanted a place that was peaceful, quiet, close to the beaches, rivers and hiking trails. It exceeded all my expectations. I hope you enjoy the property and all that Kauai has to offer, I look forward to hearing about your experience!:) Mahalo. Update! We have moved over to the island!! We will now be able to meet and visit with all our guests in person. Look forward to seeing you in paradise!:) Mahalo and much Aloha, Darcy
