Waikiki is CRAZY! Sometimes it's just too much. Those looking for a bit of respite from the madness yet still right next to the action will find this room in Kaimuki the perfect alternative. Nestled on the hillside of Whilemina Rise, this property hosts two homes, a studio, and terraced gardens. On the top terrace sits the wine barrel hot tub and lawn. A short walk down the hill will find you in Honolulu's favorite quaint town...Kaimuki. Home to some of the best Restaurants in town suiting all budgets, bars, and other fun shopping opportunities.
Your hosts Louise and Kahi can guide you to the secrets of Hawaii allowing you to experience true Hawaii. One of the best hikes on the island is just up the road and some of the best beaches are just a short ride away. Public transportation is available just a block away and can get you almost anywhere on the island as Oahu's public transportation is one of the nations best.
Grocery stores are close so you can cook your own meals using our kitchen if looking to save a few bucks.
The room in our house is unique from others on this website because it is an opportunity to live as a local in an unforgettable setting. We live in the house with you and sometimes the other airbnb room is booked too. But it doesn't get crowded. The property has all the seclusion you could want to just find your special spot to soak in the view, or soak in the tub, or BOTH!

Great view, clean room, and amazing local neighborhood!
Beautiful house and yard, and Kahi and Louise are a delight. We were able to use the garage, which was perfect, and the location in Kaimuki was fantastic. Great hosts, great house, and great location. Would definitely recommend to others.
What an amazing place! My husband and I stayed at Kahi's house for a week in February and we had a wonderful time! Kahi is an excellent host; he provided great food/hike/beach recommendations, took special care to make sure we knew where we were going, and allowed us to use all of the house like it was our own! We really loved the hot tub (refreshing outdoor shower, too!), BBQ, gardens, chickens and Reggie the Dog! Also, parking the rental in a garage was a nice bonus. This house has everything you need to enjoy yourself, so relaxing and cozy, yet open air and ocean breezes make you feel like you are at the beach! Seriously, an urban oasis. Kahi also runs a non-profit organization and it was great to learn about that and continue our green lifestyle on vacation. Tracey, from downstairs, is super nice and so helpful! We loved her!
We would definitely stay here again.
Kahi and Louise are great host!
Quick response,very kind,knowledgeable and friendly.
I was moved that they love and treat nature very much.
I enjoyed staying with them.
Kahi & Louis are delightful hosts. We really appreciated their hospitality, and the hot tub and view were delightful.
The location of the apartment is good, there are plenty of shops and restaurant in walking distance. However, if you would like to find one closed to beach...this may not be your choice.
Kahi is just a wonderful host, friendly and he will provide you travel guide, show you the way, just ask!
The barrel is the main reason I picked this plantation. It was nice, relaxing and ease my tension after a long long walk at Diamond Head. We had a good good sleep after.
Our experience with Kahi and Louise was all we expected and more! Our stay was for 2 weeks but we would have loved to stay longer. Their house is located in the perfect spot! It is a short drive to Waikiki and an easy walk to small supermarkets, restaurants, and more. Riding the bus is also an option with a bus stop just down the road from their house. If you're driving, the highway to the city is just another block down. The Kaimuki neighborhood is a great place to be, perfect for our morning runs or just walking around at night. Staying here was a great alternative to a Waikiki hotel experience and in fact, quite the opposite. Their other "Mango" Air Bnb room is across the hall and they rent to a very nice girl downstairs as well. You'll always be with good company at the Pacarros--Kahi and Louise along with everyone we met could not have been nicer or more helpful. We are so grateful to have been able to experience the Aloha Spirit everyday while staying in their home. My boyfriend and I wanted a genuine Hawaiian experience and we sure got it! From the start of our stay we felt welcome and right at home. They have a hot tub overlooking the city, which made for a nice relaxation spot at the end of every jam packed day we had. And nothing can top grilling on the BBQ while watching the sunset over the Honolulu skyline. We had an idea of places/things we wanted to do but really appreciated all the additional recommendations they gave us. Without all their suggestions we would have been lost. Since hiking was our favorite thing to do, they let us know all of the best spots, including a secluded waterfall and a 3,000 step stairway with an amazing view! It also was very helpful knowing that some days the surf was too chopped to snorkel and some hikes were dangerous due to rain. They even let us borrow some snorkeling gear. We honestly cannot thank them enough for a wonderful stay on Oahu. We are from Alaska and hope to come back soon to get our much needed sunlight during our winter months! If you are still reading this review STOP and BOOK NOW. You will not regret it. I don't want to say anything more amazing only because we hope they will be open when we want to book with them again :)
-TV: sweet! (just got a new one)
-AC: yes but didn't need--their Hawaiian style home allowed for plenty of fresh air coming through
-Hot Tub: ballin!
-Kitchen: perfect, fully-stocked
-Parking: yea boi!
-Pets: sweetest dog ever, chickens=fresh eggs
The place was in a very good spot. It's not in the touristy part of town yet it is in a very convenient location. Good selection of restaurants just a block away, diamond head crater was at walking distance and so was Waikiki (if you enjoy walking a bit more).
The house has an amazing view towards Honolulu city core. From the living room you have an awesome view of the diamond head crater. During the day you are doomed to get bored of the rainbows that never seem to disappear (seriously though the only thing missing are the unicorms). In the evening it's those damn pesky, blindingly beautiful sunsets. All this can be enjoyed from the jacuzzi! Seriously this place gets 6/5 for scenery (and I can't stress this enough).
The hosts, Kahi And Louise, are awesome! They were very accommodating and super useful in suggesting places to visit in Oahu.
Staying here was what made this trip wonderful! Well, that and the great advice Kahi gave me on places to see. The bedroom was cool and comfortable, the mattress better than mine at home, the hot tub, the kitchen stocked with everything needed, the most wonderful cat -- it was like being home in Oahu! There are a lot of steps to climb, but so worth it! As has been mentioned, a great neighborhood, a good location for heading out to see the rest of the island. I want to go back next fall, and I hope the Pacarros' place will be available. My best to Kahi and Louise (and Boss).
This was a wonderful hotel more than imagination.
We would like to come to Hawaii once again.
It is because we would like to stay at this hotel again.
