I have tried to edit my summary but no luck. I was going to correct it to say that I now have a Queen sized bed for the front upstairs bedroom. Hooray!! No more antique double bed. Enjoy!
Charming upstairs bedroom with bath and private deck in the quietest neighborhood in San Luis Obispo, seven blocks from downtown. The room has a very comfortable antique double bed. There is another bedroom with bath if needed. The price is the same as first room but negotiable. The second room has a beautiful antique four-poster bed from the 19th century. The house is three blocks from the Splash Café and many other restaurants are in walking distance. I am very close to Cal Poly State University.

Anne was an amazing host and her place was the ideal base camp for our SLO adventure. The house is immaculately clean and super comfortable. It has tons of character, spectacular sunny deck, and the ideal location to forget your car and explore the town on foot. Anne was a delight and if ever in SLO she will always be our first accommodation option. Already looking forward to a return visit!
Anne was very accomodating and her lovely home is in a nice quiet neighborhood near downtown.
We loved staying with Anne in her wonderful home full of art and personal touches that reflect her uniqueness. She is a very generous, warm host and we enjoyed visiting with her and her charming cat over morning coffee and upon our return from activities each evening. The private room and bath are just as represented in the listing and the bed is very comfortable. There is very good separation of space, as the rest of the upstairs is unoccupied. Another room is set up with coffee machine, morning treats, wine and glasses. We are sorry the weather was not more conducive to spending time on the decks overlooking the beautiful garden. We would definitely return if we are in the SLO area again.
My daughter and I had a lovely stay in Anne's place when we went to visit Cal Poly for a tour. We both slept comfortably. It's in a quiet neighborhood, very close to downtown and to Cal Poly. A fun touch: Anne is giving away all her books, one by one, to guests. My daughter found a cookbook to take, and I found a novel by Sarah Vowell.
We enjoyed a lovely weekend with Anne. Her home enchanted us with its quiet, convenient locale, interesting decor, oh-so comfortable bed, and en suite bathroom. The accommodations were exactly as listed, and better. Anne is a wonderful hostess and as frequent visitors to SLO, we shall return again.
Anne was a gracious host - she and Mr. Nickels (the kitty) - made us feel very welcome. Her home is a visual delight - from the kitchen to her garden; there is always an interesting work of art. Her personal touches such as premium coffee, snacks and wine were wonderful! The rooms are as described, comfortable with feather pillows and crisp sheets. The bathrooms were immaculate - I would gladly stay in her home again. The location is incredibly close to downtown in a quiet neighborhood with ample parking.
This was my second time staying at Anne's. It was fun to continue our conversation. She is very welcoming and makes the stay in her lovely home very easy. My room is well furnished, has a very comfortable bed and en suite bath.
I have lived in San Luis Obispo since 1974. Before that I lived in New Mexico. I am interested in the arts, books, good food and what is going on around town. I have a cat and nice neighbors.
