Eileen and Gerry's Montecito cottage exceeded my expectations by a good margin. It was feature complete and spotlessly clean. The cottage's location - down a quiet lane - made for a peaceful and relaxing stay. I look forward to returning.
This Cozy Cottage was the perfect size and location. Everything inside and outside was perfectly described in the Airbnb ad. Our hosts made us feel doubly welcome by setting out fruit, coffee and tasty breakfast treats for us. Close to the highway, yet so secluded you feel miles from anywhere. The forgs and crickets chirped us to sleep!
The description of the cottage was accurate. Eileen and Gerry was wonderful hosts that greeted us with a couple of beers and breakfast groceries at arrival. During our stay both were very helpful and they made their best for us to make the most out our stay, giving advice on where to go and what to do. At departure we even got a small box of chocolate from Eileen.
The cottage was perfect for our Santa Barbara stay! The location is beautiful and very quiet. Eileen and Gerry were both very pleasant to deal with. They left us snacks in the fridge and were accommodating to our check-in needs. The cottage itself was a nice size for two people. The place was clean, organized, and had everything necessary for a stay. Overall a positive experience!
I stayed for one week with my two young daughters at this Montecito cottage. All three of us found the cottage to be perfectly comfortable. Eileen and her husband Gerry were great hosts. They provided breakfast foods and other treats that made the first morning especially nice. We all look forward to staying in this cottage sometime in the near future.
This was my first time staying at an airbnb place and it was wonderful. The cottage was ready on our arrival and exactly as advertised. Our hosts were available and gracious the entire time we were there. The location was perfect for getting to everything in and around Santa Barbara: the beach, the mountains, the city center. I know because we did it all. This pretty little one-bedroom cottage is detached from the main house. It is under a canopy of trees way back off of the street making the beauty and solitude one of its most charming attributes. Our hosts left an array of breakfast foods for us, as well as a bottle of wine. The couch pulls out into a double bed, so the cottage could fit four in a pinch, but is a perfect fit for two. I was there to visit my son at school, so I used the bedroom and he used the couch, which he tells me is perfectly comfortable. I will be bringing my husband next time!
The place was great. Gerry and Eileen were wonderful. They provided some staples in the fridge including a bottle of wine and information about the area. The place is well maintained and the neighborhood quiet and peaceful. The only reason it didn't get a full 5 stars was because the bedding wasn't the greatest.
About the Host, Eileen
My husband Gerry & I moved from the Washington D.C. area after more than 30 years working for the Foreign Service, with assignments in the Caribbean, South America, Africa & Europe. Gerry was raised in Santa Barbara so we decided to retire here. I speak Spanish and French, understand some Italian. We enjoy walking, good movies and dining out.
