Staying at Eileen & Gerry's cottage was the first time my husband and I stayed in an Airbnb, and it was a great experience. The peaceful, private setting was ideal to return to after a busy day of sightseeing with the summer crowds in Santa Barbara. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed, including generous amounts of breakfast goodies. I enjoyed the short walk to the beautiful grounds of Casa de Maria. The next time we're in the area we definitely would love to return to this cottage.
We had a great stay at Gerry & Eileen's! The place was clean, quiet, and perfect for our weekend getaway. Gerry came by and helped us get acclimated, told us how to get around, and generally made us feel very welcome! It was our first Airbnb experience, and it couldn't have gone any better.
Thanks, Gerry & Eileen!!
Eileen and Gerry were very attentive about talking us through the house at check in and making sure that we had all of the information we needed. We got stuck in terrible traffic and were very late and they were kind enough to wait for us.
Very nice Airbnb-experience. The cottage was in a very nice condition, very clean and all the essentials were there. Gerry gave us quite a few tips what to do and where to go. Contact with the host was in general very easy and friendly. No problems with nothing at all.
Eileen and Gerry are great hosts and their cottage is delightful. It's in a peaceful wooded setting very close to downtown Santa Barbara. They had snacks and breakfast foods waiting and the dinner table all set for us. They even left local info and a map for us to use. The cottage is every bit as charming as it looks in the pictures! The bed is extremely comfortable (hooray!).
We had a wonderful stay in Montecito at the cottage. Eileen and Jerry had fresh fruit and some breakfast items ready upon our arrival. Everything was clean and charming as advertised. My children slept in the master bed and I slept comfortably on the couch. It is a pull-out but I opted to use it as a couch. The setting is lovely and quiet and a short drive to Butterfly Beach, one of our favorite spots. I would definitely stay here again!
This was my first airbnb experience and I must say I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it worked out. Gerry was friendly and helpful. The cottage was perfect! Very clean, lots of room & privacy, and a great central location. I highly recommend this wonderful cottage in the woods.
About the Host, Eileen
My husband Gerry & I moved from the Washington D.C. area after more than 30 years working for the Foreign Service, with assignments in the Caribbean, South America, Africa & Europe. Gerry was raised in Santa Barbara so we decided to retire here. I speak Spanish and French, understand some Italian. We enjoy walking, good movies and dining out.
