The Space

I have a very comfortable sofa (I fall asleep on it far too often) available for someone displaced by the hurricane. I do have an empty large bedroom and I'm happy to make that available as well but cannot provide a bed. I am located in Oakland Gardens (Bayside) near 73rd Avenue/Bell Blvd. My apartment is on the first floor, up a few steps. Easy street parking available with no alternate side regulations.

To share with you, I have:

Strong heat, Fios wireless/cable, a 50" TV, gas cooking, hot water, outlets for you to use, organic/gluten-free food & toiletries, MacBook Pro to use if needed, books, boardgames, music, Netflix and more.

Closest public transportation is the QM5, QM8, Q88 and Q27 busses within walking distance, and LIRR Bayside station (20-25 min ride to Penn) is about a 5-10 minute drive. You can catch a ride with me if I am going somewhere...there are also plenty of affordable car services around here. It is $6 to the LIRR.

Within walking distance is a Key Food, Dunkin Donuts, dry cleaner, laundromat, CVS, Capital One and Chase Bank, liquor store, bodega, kosher deli, various restaurants/diners, parks and walking trails, etc.

I am a 30 year old woman. I work from home running my photography business, so I am here most of the time. I play guitar, cook 100% gluten-free and will make you laugh. I live very peacefully, tidy (I'm not a neat-freak) and healthfully. I would love to host someone with a similar lifestyle. No smoking in the house please. Small dogs are ok. Females preferred.

Please tell me about yourself when you respond. All I ask for in return for hosting is respect of my home and belongings. I would really love to be able to help someone!

  • I have known Melanie since we were 5 years old sharing crayons in kindergarten and excited that our birthday was a couple days apart. Since then, we've gotten older but I still consider Mel really close to me and she is talented, compassionate, kind hearted, artistic, charismatic and a beautiful person. Anyone that comes in contact with her usually feels the same in that they see that she's a light and meets many awesome people in her adventures.

I recommend her for anyone that wants to hear awesome stories, laugh until it hearts and experience a beautiful person, whether hosting or staying, Mel has my vote. :-)
