Beautiful, bright, recently renovated garden flat available to rent. One bedroom, furnished with new and comfortable double futon bed, sunny sitting room, bathroom, pristine kitchen, and shared patio and garden. All linens provided and all necessaries available in the kitchen. Free wireless internet but no television. No smoking in the flat please (though smoking in the garden is fine).
We have a top-quality airbed, which can be set up in the sitting room to accommodate an extra person if necessary. We also have a travel cot and a floor futon which can be used to sleep young children.
The flat adjoins our Victorian terraced house, where we are available to offer advice about the area and to help with any needs you may have.
We are located in Hackney, near London Fields and Dalston, which was recently named "coolest neighbourhood in London" by Vogue magazine. Here you'll find every kind of amenity at your fingertips: bars, restaurants, shops; the largest outdoor heated swimming pool in London; parks; farmers' markets; great resources for children.
We are well connected to central London by bus and tube: the 38 bus goes from the bottom of our road through Islington, Bloomsbury and Soho to Victoria Station, while the 242 will take you past Liverpool Street, through the City to St Paul's Cathedral and then Holborn. The newly opened East London Line travels south through Shoreditch, while the London Overground circuits north and west London, stopping at Hampstead Heath and eventually at Kew Gardens.
Been at Susan and Roland's was like been at home.
We enjoy every room in the house, cook almost every meal during our stay and spend time in quite garden.
Location was perfect for us. Beautiful neighborhood with many options and great connections to Central London on bus and overground. Check out London Fields Lido near by.
Susan & Roland were kind and helpful and gave us the feeling that we were just visiting friends.
Beautiful flat and impeccable hosts! Thanks so much for our stay, I'm sure we'll be back again
Susan and Roland were very accommodating of our late arrival (midnight) on our first night. Our son stopped by the flat before our flight to pick up the key and they gave him the information we needed to get settled quickly once we got there around midnight. The hosts live upstairs and are easily available if needed. We stopped to chat one afternoon and they were very friendly.
The flat is conveniently located with buses running nearby that take you downtown. The location is safe, even at late hours. We had a number of late nights during our stay and we always felt comfortable walking the streets.
Inside the flat is wonderfully spacious and clean with a front room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen that opens on a back garden. The front room can be used as a sitting room or second bedroom. The bedroom is roomy and opens on the garden as well. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, flatware and cups. While we didn't do any cooking there, you could do so with all of the supplies.
The space is also used to provide childcare during some weeks of the year and the children's artwork and supplies were endearing to me as a former teacher.
The flat has a warm, homey feel that was welcoming during our cold, damp visit in January.
We had a great 3 night stay at Susan and Roly's place in Hackney. Perfect location for London Fields, Lido, Broadway Market etc. The flat is very peaceful for a relaxing stay, and decorated to a great standard. No sofa but trips to London are always so busy there's not much time for lounging around! Susan and Roly are great hosts, very friendly and just upstairs!
We had an overall good experience in this flat, Susan and Roland were very kind to let us check out in the evening as our train back to Edinburgh was at 7. It wasn't the cosiest flat we stayed in, we couldn't find a thermostat on the first night (we arrived after midnight) so we were rather cold. The flat looks as though it's used as a nursery during the day. Overall it was nice, good location and the hosts were very nice too but the flat was lacking in personal touches such as a welcome letter saying how to use the flat including the thermostat. The bathroom is not the nicest either..
I would definitely recommend it as a good alternative to a hotel, in a lovely residential neighbourhood but perhaps not for a romantic city break in London.
Susan and Roland's flat was exactly as described and a lovely place to stay. The location of the flat is also superb; all in all a perfect place to stay to explore some interesting parts of London.
Perfect place specially if you are travelling with little children. We loved the space, the area and the hosts. It felt instantly like home. I could not recommend it enough. We will definetely be back!
A fantastic holiday in a perfect apartment with a cozy decor and a beautiful garden, with all the conveniences to our satisfaction. We love the area, with nice shops and pubs, a fantastic market where we found all the goodies to make a really good meal. Susan and Roland were very helpful and friendly. Obviously, we will return!
Super cute granny flat in Hackney - very quiet and private with all the essentials provided. Good comms with Susan though we didn't get to meet. Everything was as appears in the photos. Highly recommended!
The flat is great although it would be better if brighter.
Susan and Roly are great hosts, and they make semselves available.
I would recommend this flat.
I never went to this area of London before and I loved it, I really enjoyed discovering it, going to the broadway market, walking to Shoreditch, and walking through the Regent's canal towards Islmington.
