Interaction with Guests
Most of our guests enjoy the privacy of their rooms when at home but Lisa works from home and is available for urgent needs.
We are normally out of the house most evenings and weekends but available via phone or text if needed.
We love all of the great restaurants on our side of town and how accessible our home is to the rest of Atlanta.
It is a short walk to downtown Kirkwood or Oakhurst, home to several amazing restaurants. Then hop on a bike or train to get anywhere else in town very easily.
Our home is just a few blocks from the East Lake Marta station to catch the train to Downtown, Midtown, Buckhead, and Decatur. Catch a bus at the corner to take you to events at the East Lake Golf Course or to work out at the YMCA.
Other Things to Note
We are both outdoorsy people with a passion for gardening, cooking, and cycling. Please let us know why you will be visiting Atlanta and what you'd like to see while you're here. We'll provide you with local guides and our own recommendations of fun ways to get into nature, get to know our city or just relax.
There is no smoking in the house but we have a front porch and benches in the backyard you may use.
You will have full access to our kitchen and we only ask that you leave it in the same state you found it.
Our house is equipped with an alarm system and we like to use it whenever away from the house. There will be a $200 charge for any false alarms as this is the fee imposed by the City of Atlanta for false alarm reports.
There will be a $50 charge for any lost keys to cover the replacement key, reference tag, and new locks on the house.
Lisa and Bobby are a sweet couple, totally generous, cat-o-philes, providing excellent French-pressed coffee and cereal in the mornings. The bedroom was adequate in size, with some nice features - a desk plus two other small tables, and a hanging organizer thingy-thing which I used for socks and underwear. The windows can not be opened at night due to the alarm system, but there is a 5-blade ceiling fan over the bed. Quiet pleasant neighborhood. I used the washer and dryer a couple times with no prob. The shower was a 10! Bathroom could maybe use a couple of hooks for clothes/towel, but I quibble.... Best of all, B&L had encyclopedic knowledge of Atlanta neighborhoods, which I exploited to the max. I really liked the nearby java joint Kavarna. Did not make it to the famous donut place.... Thanks Lisa and Bobby!
The first thing I had the impression of when I arrived was how helpful Lisa and Bobby were. They were great hosts, who managed a good balance of respectful distance and genuine assistance and advice. The room was nice, a good size and tidy. The house was in a good area as well, making me comfortable coming back very late and leaving very early (I was there for a job that required so). I'd definitely recommend this to others! One thing I will say, is they have two very friendly cats, and if you are not a cat person, be prepared! the cats are great, but living with cats is something like living with children - very low maintenance children to be sure, but creatures with minds of their own who will try and get into your things ;)
Convenient location and very pleasant hosts. Comfortable bed and quiet house. If this were eBay I'd give them 5 stars and do business again.
Friendly and welcoming (: recommended. Close to the Marta station. Two chilled out cats make good company.
The stay with bobby and lisa was pleasant and quiet always managed to make us comfortable, breakfast was great always, very comfortable bed, always willing to help and talk to help us on our journey through atlanta, cats behave very well ..... really recommend this place because it is also very near the MARTA station and is a great advantage if like us not rented car for the ride ..... it is a very good site
We spent 2 nights in the room of Lisa and Bobby. They are great hosts, they were really helpful for the check-in, they gave us some advice for visiting Atlanta! The bed was really comfy, and their house is perfectly located if you don't have any car for visiting Atlanta. It's 6min far from a metro station, which deserve the entire city.
The breakfast provided was delicious (cereals/yoghurt + some fruits). Even if they weren't present the second morning, they managed to provide us everything needed for a good breakfast!
If you still doubt about taking this room for your Atlanta trip, you shouldn't!
Lisa and Bobby are just perfect hosts. My 3 weeks stay was really comfortable and pleasant. They were my flat-mates, my local tourist guides and took me to night bike ride (loved it!!) and cemetery party.
The house is very close to MARTA, the neighborhood is quiet, close to Decatur. You have everything what you need, room has a big and comfy bed and lots of light. The two cats are lovely and if you like to ride the bike it's great place to get to some nice parks.
Bobby and I have really enjoyed traveling with Airbnb and are pleased to offer a place in our home for visitors to Atlanta. We are both huge cyclists who volunteer at a local non-profit bicycle cooperative and we enjoy seeing live music and museums. We both work for a language testing and translations firm doing various things and love to travel and meet new people.
