A sunny quiet one bedroom apartment that can sleep up to 6 with 4 beds, up one flight of stairs.
The location is the best in Manhattan - according to guest reviews and has 4 beds, a kitchen, huge TV, fast reliable Wi-Fi. Near subway.
Location. Location.Location. It's all about where you stay and this Manhattan apartment is located on an exciting block filled with restaurants, cafes, art galleries, music venues and boutique shops. It's a block from public transport and an extremely safe neighbohoord
A sunny second floor one bedroom apartment that can sleep up to six.
Hotels in Manhattan are overpriced and undersized. My apartment by comparison is highly affordable: and spacious.
On the high end the Thompson LES Boutique hotel next door cost $495 with tax for two people. It's half the size of my apartment has no kitchen, not even a bath tub, just a shower and a much smaller TV.
On the low end two blocks away is the Bowery House Hostel, the absolutely least expensive accommodation in NYC. A windowless room for one the size of a small closet with just a tiny bed will cost you $110 with tax or you can sleep in a dormitory with 8 other people for $91.
Rent my apartment experience what it is like to live like a real New Yorker, not like just a hotel guest in a room that could be anywhere.
This is what you have at a fraction of the price of a comparable hotel room:
1. A HUGE 55 Inch Flat Panel TV
2. Best Location in Manhattan - safe, convenient and exciting. Read the reviews and check out the section on airbnb about the Lower East Side neighborhood. It offers the most entertainment and dining options in the city and is ideally located near mass transit - subway, bus, taxi, bike rentals.
4. Full kitchen and bathroom with bath tub and plenty of hot water and water pressure.
5. Second Floor Apartment - no waiting for elevators or trudging up flight of stars with your luggage
6. Sunny. Wake up to the sun shining down on you
7. Flexible check in- check out times - not like a hotel.
8.. Air conditioned and well heated
9. A clean and neat place to live, with fresh linens and towels, like in a hotel.
The apartment is larger and has far more amenities than a suite at a four star hotel and at a fraction of the cost
Interaction with Guests
One or two guests is the ideal number for this apartment.
- Four is comfortable and great for a family of four or two couples, as the apartment has two beds.
- Six is a crash pad with very little remaining floor space, I seldom rent to more than four guests but I have had families stay with four small children and backpackers and it's been OK and with six guests highly affordable.
The security in the building is first rate and area is extremely safe, even very late at night. It is arguably one of the safest neighborhoods in New York City.
Best location (Read the reviews)
Nearby is the landmark Katz Deli, Max Fish Bar, Bowery Ballroom, Whole Foods, Inoteca, Russ & Daughters/, Mercury Lounge.
The surrounding blocks have movie theaters, health food stores, outdoor cafes, groceries & coffee shops open 24 hours, fashionable small clothing stores and several boutique hotels that charge over $500 for a small room with a less comfortable bed, half the space, no kitchen and a bathroom with only a shower.
Once a notoriously overcrowded and unsanitary slum, the Lower East Side is now one of Manhattan's most fashionable neighborhoods!
The apartment is within walking distance to the local hot spots and many iconic NYC neighborhoods such as Soho, Tribeca, Chinatown, Little Italy and West Village
It's a neighborhood with some of the city's best nightlife, along with outstanding restaurants and shops. It's conveniently located in lower Manhattan. It's vital and energetic, changing yet still completely New York City. It's vibrant and full of art. Few other neighborhoods offer such a complete New York City experience.
The Lower East Side is one of the most desired locations to live in. This area consist of some of the best bars, restaurants and art galleries in NYC. Orchard one of the main street in the LES shuts down to cars on Sundays converting into a pedestrian mall.
By subway it's fifteen minute ride to midtown, Times Square, Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
You are in close proximity to transportation such as the B,D,F,M,J,Z, 6 train and the M15 bus allowing for quick and easy access thought the city and surrounding boroughs
Other Things to Note
The apartment is cleaned by (website hidden), a professional cleaning service, before each guest's arival. If you find that the apartment is not clean enough for your standards let us know and the cleaner will return to finish the job.
Fresh linens, towels and toiletries provided.
TREAT THE APARTMENT AS IF IT WAS YOUR SECOND HOME
I don't just rent out the apartment as a business. I have lived there for 10 years. It's my home and consider It your second home in New York, so treat it as your home, not just another impersonal hotel room.
Please do not smoke in the apartment. Feel free to smoke in the hall or outside in the street, as it's only one flight down.
If you are watching a movie or playing with the Xbox try to be relatively quiet, so as not to disturb the neighbors.
You don't have to launder the sheets and towels or clean the apartment but please remove the trash and leave the apartment in relatively good condition. The apartment is cleaned by a cleaning service before the arrival of each
As the kitchen is quite basic, it is suitable for preparing simple breakfast, lunch and dinners only. The apartment is located on a block with dozens of restaurants of any budget and coffee shops. You have plenty of more interesting options in the neighborhood than preparing meals in any apartment, any apartment for that matter in NYC.
Please do not put anything in the toilet that may clog it up. There is a wastebasket next to the toilet. Please make use of it.

Jonathan was very good in organising access to key, providing information and responding quickly to any (website hidden) addition, he allowed late check out on the departure day, which was very helpful. The apartment is in an excellent location, it is reasonably well maintained, clean and with everything one needs for a comfortable stay (it does get a bit cold in a rather cold climate - but then, the bed is very cosy and warm). I would not hesitate to use it again!
Jonathan was very helpful and attentive. The apartment is in a great location and has a nice layout and is well equipped. Close to subways and the LES action. If you're a light sleeper you might need a white noise-maker as it is in the front of the building and on the second floor and the nightlife can be lively.
We had a great stay in the apartment in the middle of February! Jonathan was extremely helpful and did an amazing job of fixing any small problems we had (I was shocked to find out he was coordinating everything while in Argentina!) The weekend of our stay, the weather was below freezing and it snowed. Because the last guest hadn't been there for 4 days before us, the heat had been left off and would not work when we first arrived. We let Jonathan know and got in communication with the landlord and he had it fixed almost immediately (again, all while he was in Argentina). The apartment was clean and we had plenty of activities in the apartment and food delivery options when the temperatures permitted us from walking around the area. The neighborhood was exciting and bustling, with lots of bars and restaurants on every block. Although a busy area, the neighborhood was very safe and the subway nearby made travel to any part of the city very easy. Overall, it was a great AirBnB experience!
A friend and I stayed at Jonathan's apartment for a week. If you are going to be in NYC, this apartment is a great choice! The apartment had just been cleaned when we arrived and everything sparkled. The neighborhood is lively with lots of restaurants. The subway is about 2 blocks away and so easy to get to. Jonathan made it easy to pick up the keys even tho he was away at the time.
The apartment is small but quite adequate for a couple, or 2 friends. The bed is super comfortable and warm (good because I was there during a very cold week) and my friend said the couch was the most comfortable couch she had slept on! I really liked the shower/tub; clever use of design to get a full size tub in a small space.
I have to commend Jonathan on his great communications. He responded to all my queries in a timely manner. He even sent us info on an art gallery opening around the corner. I would stay at this apartment again!
the apt is ok, not as comfortable as I would wish (street noise from construction early in the morning, not enough natural light during the day) but not bad. it is not expensive either, so I would rate it as a good deal for 2 people. location is really great and convenient, close to the subway and to shops and restaurants. communication with the host was very easy, fast responses. there was one major problem: the heating system went off and it was a harsh winter day, which was scary for one night, but it turns out it was building related and the host took all measures necessary to correct the problem as soon as he learned of it, even though he was staying abroad and we were exchanging emails. it was fixed the next day, and for that I am thankful to the host.
Jonathan's apartment is really well located, and a New York first timer will quickly settle into the area with its great location and local train station.
The apartment is basic, which is all we wanted and expected. It isn't dirty but compared to the photos its more cluttered with bits and pieces.
For 3 people the apartment was a little small, but as long as your not spending too much time inside (which you shouldn't) then it's not a problem.
We did have some initial problems with the apartment (the sheets and towels had not been cleaned after the previous guest), which Jonathan and I discussed once we checked in. It was plain to see that Jonathan's cleaning company had let him down and I doubt it would happen again considering how upset Jonathan was about the situation.
