**Settle In - Your Western Haven**

Step right into the pages of history with a stay at our one-of-a-kind haven. This house, a true labor of love born in the 1870s, speaks volumes of the cowboy and ranching heritage it cradles. Perched on a sprawling 38,000-acre ranch, near the iconic Joshua Tree Parkway, it's a spot where tales of yesteryears come to life.

Nestled amidst the untamed beauty of the Sonoran and Mojave deserts, the views from every window are the stuff of dreams. Behold the grandeur of Joshua Trees and the ancient Saguaros that stand as silent sentinels. And with Perennial Date Creek meandering close by, beavers busy at work and local critters in their natural element, you'll be immersed in the wild rhythms of the land.

But here's the twist, partner – we're living off the grid, dancing to the sun's tune. Our power's solar-powered, keeping things as harmonious as a cowboy's tune around the campfire. Remember to give our House Rules a gander – it's like riding the range, ensuring everyone's on the same trail.

**Unwind - Your Homestead in the Desert**

Welcome to our Airbnb gem – a spacious 4-bedroom abode that feels as cozy as a campfire on a chilly night. With three queen beds and in the 4th room two trusty twin beds, plus a comfy sofa couch, there's plenty of space for your posse. And don't worry 'bout waiting in line for a bathroom – we've got two full ones to keep things movin' along.

Step into the main living room and you'll find a cracklin' fireplace, ready to warm those desert nights. And yep, there's a TV with a trusty Roku stick, just in case you're in the mood for some modern entertainment. But that's not all – the sunroom's got a pool table, waiting for you to rack 'em up an

Our historic house sits in the middle of an active 38,000 acre cattle ranch, so please expect so see all things associated with ranching, which means there will likely be cattle near by. You will also see sheep, pigs and chickens. For your own safety, please let us know if you would like to visit the ranch animals and we will be happy to give you a tour.

All of us who work here live on the ranch and it is common to see us zipping by on a quad with our stock dogs. Lots of cats live here as well as livestock guardian dogs. Your dogs are welcome, however, please keep your dog on a leash.

There is plenty of space for parking. You are welcome to bring your ATV’s and we can recommend popular routes.

Hiking on the ranch varies between a Cottonwood/Willow riparian area and saguaro/joshua tree desert. It is incredibly beautiful and inspiring. We are happy to help you identify a good hiking area.

If you are a smoker we ask that you be respectful and please smoke outside. Also make sure that cigarette butts are disposed of properly.

We are thrilled to continue to share the experience of our ranch with our guests. We ask that you understand that we are still learning. Any and all recommendations you have for us we will be happy to hear. This is our first year sharing this ranch house and we are still learning new ways to make our guests comfortable.

Other things to note
Date Creek ranch is off highway 93 and is about 4 miles in on a reasonably good dirt road. We are fortunate (as you will be if you decide to stay with us) as our ranch sits off the beaten path.
