Aminta was so sweet and caring. Upon arrival she had already stocked my fridge with some food items, and was consistently helpful throughout the few months I stayed here. The neighborhood is very safe, quiet, and lovely (just a few blocks down from Baker Beach and Golden Gate Park!) My housemates were also very lovely, respectful people. Overall: an absolutely amazing place to stay!
I'm moving to San Francisco for work, and rented the courtyard room in Amita's house for five weeks. Prior to moving in, she was very attentive to my questions via phone calls. She was very helpful and answered many questions I had about the property, and was more than willing to be flexible regarding move-in times, etc. It was quickly apparent that means it would be a great host. Between the random surprises of fresh fruit, orange juice, and tasty treats, Aminta was full of delicious surprises. In addition, she was available to answer questions about parking, or any other concerns that arose during my stay. I highly recommend this property if you're looking for a place to stay in San Francisco.
I stayed for 3 months in the courtyard bedroom. There were about 5 other people in the house during my stay, but everyone was friendly, considerate, and quiet. The room was great and I was provided with refrigerator space, pantry space, bike storage space, access to the 2 washers/dryers and kitchen, and I pretty much had a shower and bathroom to myself. The location of the house cannot be beat! Easy access everywhere and very quiet at night!
The Moss family is a great host!! :) Everything about my stay was positive!! Thanks!!!!!!
My stay at the Lake Street House was wonderful. Dave and Aminta are great hosts and make you feel very welcome.
The house and room were very cleam and everything you need is available. The next time I'm in San Francisco I will surely stay at their place again!
Amazing! If there was one word to describe my stay.
The home was very clean and Dave's mom was a wonderful host! She even made me a lunch sack and goodies for my flight home. Dave's brother, Sandor was Golden! He greeted me when I arrived early (unexpected) with a huge smile and welcome. Had a treat for me in the fridge and made a glass of water for me. I knew I could count on Sandor for anything during my stay. I felt safe and most of all part of their family. The location of the home is perfect. Safe and beautiful neighborhood and only a block away from the Muni. I plan to stay here ALWAYS when I return. I called Dave on my way from the airport when I was in the taxi. He told me he or anyone of his family would have been glad to pick me up from the airport....Needless to say he gave me a ride to the airport for my departure. I could write an entire book about my stay, this family and their home. (hey!! that sounds like a great title!) It was all Fabulous!!

About the Host, Aminta
I was born in Corinto, Nicaragua. I made SF my home in 1959.
My neighborhood is a true blessing in disguise; Within a 10 minute walk, I can be at the beach (ie; Baker's Beach, China Beach and Ocean Beach; world class surfing), at the movies, amazing entertainment and nightlife, in a National Park, with historic landmarks , in a quality yoga studio, shopping (international cuisine) , in a library, or in a museum ( I was on Board of Directors with The Mexican Museum), and only a 5 minute walk to excellent transportation. 5 things I cannot live without; yoga, swimming, scuba diving, hiking(Marin Headlands), and gardening. All major universities are within 10-15 minutes by public transportation. Super safe morning to midnight.
My favorite travel getaway is Scandinavia! I love reading books on meditation and have volunteered at The De Young and Legion of Honor Museums for the past 27 years.
My house is yoga, surfer and techie friendly and is conveniently located as a ''Google Hotspot''. It is an original 1912 Eduardian home with an amazing backyard that faces south! Plenty of street parking and parking permits are available upon request. We always have a great mix of international guests, doctors, techies, yoga instructors and surfers . We offer on site laundry possibilities, free WiFi, free cable and flat screen TV's in every room, central heating, newly remodeled AEK, wood floors, and a very cozy environment for a very unique stay. Everything is in walking distance. My life's motto; treat one as you would like to be treated.
