We will interact with our guests as much or as little as they want. Tony and I are generally at home while the guests are staying with us and willing to help with daily excursions.
We like our neighbourhood as it is close to our wonderful Botanical Gardens, Red Arrow Walk and lots of cafes and restaurants for all peoples tastes. Our house is greatly situated ... only 5klms from the airport and the City Centre (in different directions).
If the weather if good guests can walk to the city.
We have a very good bus system which leaves from the next street (2-3minutes walk) and from the small shopping centre (10 minutes walk from our house). There is also a taxi service.
Lots of daily trips to be had and we are happy to help organise these for our guests.
We do sometimes help our guests get to their daily trips e.g. marina for reef trip.
Other Things to Note
We do not have air-conditioning but do have good fans and a pool to cool off with.
Smoking outdoors only. PLEASE NOTE: Make sure you are not near any doorways as the smell of smoke wafts into the house. Please be mindful of the other occupants of the house. It would be appreciated if you would empty the ashtray daily and before checking out(as the smell is not good for those of us who do not smoke).
Pool can be used anytime but please be aware of other guests and neighbours with noise.
When using the pool DEFINITELY NO GLASS past the glass fence. There are plastic glasses and plates in the bar-b-q cupboards which can be taken beyond the glass fence.

PLEASE NOTE: When using the handbasin outside your room please DO NOT leave personal toiletries there as other people in the house use this area too. You have an area in your room to store these items.
Thank you for your understanding with this matter.
It is a buautiful house to stay.
And enve it is a little far from city, most tour bus came to the near the house. and Lynn kindly dropped us off on the place by her own car.
Anyway it was a good days.
Tony and Lynn have a beautiful home, and our stay with them was so lovely. My brother and I were visiting to see the Great Barrier Reef, and although Cyclone Nathan cancelled our trip, Lynn and Tony gave us some excellent suggestions on what to do in town. Cairns is such a beautiful city; we had a great time just hiking in the rainforests and exploring the city area. We could not have asked for a more wonderful home or such accommodating hosts - my brother and I were without car, so Tony and Lynn kindly drove us from and to the airport! They even offered to drive us to the reef (before cancellation), which was supposed to be early in the morning! I highly recommend staying with Tony and Lynn; their puppy and kitten were lovely company as well. :)
We stayed with Lynn and Tony for 10 days in Feb & Mar 2015 in the Sunflower room. They are an amazing couple and great hosts, we felt welcome and at home from the moment we arrived. We have come away not only with fantastic memories but new friends too!! The house is impeccably clean, in a great location and is very spacious with all the facilities you need and more – the pool is especially refreshing in the Cairns tropical climate. Lynn helped us arrange a few day trips and gave us great advice and suggestions for pretty much every trip we did - this is why we love AirBnB. We could not recommend Weeping Tree Cottage highly enough.
Lynn and Tony welcomed us mid-morning, provided us full access to their beautiful home, pool and outside patio area. Laundry was hung on her outside clothes line after visiting the local laundry mat (although Lynn offered to wash for a minimal charge). Her quiet neighborhood is near a local grocery store and close to the cruise terminal (10 minute drive). Her home is also on the bus line although we rented a car at the airport. We appreciated their recommendations for Green Island, Tablelands and Mossman/Daintree area. If you have your own transport, do visit these beautiful areas. Tony and Lynn attempt to meet all of your needs. I wish I was one of their neighbors.
The first impression of Tony and Lynn was a welcoming sign and a gracious ride to their home from the airport... what more could we ask. They started our trip off perfectly by giving us a tour of Cairns as soon as we arrived. They are the kindest, most generous and helpful people you could possibly stay with there. Everyday they were eager to assist us in anyway possible including dropping us off at tour pick up locations and giving us awesome tips about which tours and sites were the best. Their home was lovely, the beds were comfortable, clean, very well prepared for our arrival. They have a beautiful backyard including a pool and outside kitchen. Also, their pets were absolutely adorable. I am missing their dog already. I would 100% recommend choosing their house when planning your trip, it really pays to stay with the locals. Thanks Tony and Lynn!!!!!
I will add another enthusiastic review to the multitude already posted here. Tony and Lynn are the best hosts - helpful, full of good tips. I stayed in the Sunflower Room, which is spacious and very comfortable. The house is just outside the center of Cairns, an easy walk to,restaurants and shops and a short, convenient bus ride to the center of town. I had a great time in Cairns and thought this was just a great place to stay.

We are a fun loving retired couple who love sharing our home with family and visitors alike. I (Lynn) have been hosting international students for the past 24 years. Tony is new to hosting (only 7 years) and is loving it too. We enjoy being ambassadors for our region of which we are very proud.
We enjoy rock n roll dancing and entertaining guests. We often have friends and family visit for bar-b-ques or dinner parties.
I (Lynn) love cooking and trying new recipes.
Between us we have travelled extensively. Some of our favourite places are Canada, Uluru (Ayres Rock), Japan, Tasmania and cruising the South Pacific.
We love going to musicals especially those produced by our Local Choral Society.Tony (being a bit of a revhead) loves attending the local speedway. I am learning to enjoy this sport too. We enjoy watching any sport (mainly on television) which includes our local or Australian Teams e.g. Tennis, Basketball, Cricket and Football. We have recently attended the Brisbane International Tennis. What an amazing time we had. 50's 60's music is our favourite dance music. You will often hear this music played throughout the day.
While staying with us you can enjoy as much privacy as you wish or you can join us at anytime including mealtimes to share your days activities or just talking.
Chatting about our beautiful country is something we enjoy immensely and we love hearing about your countries too.
Giving you information on beautiful places to see and things to do while you are staying with us is what we love to do.
We look forward to hearing from you soon and we can enjoy each others company in a beautiful piece of paradise.
