Trust
  • Lani Kai Gardens
  • Pu'uhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park

Great insight into the Hawaiian culture and breathtaking views of the coastline. Just outside the park is the famed snorkel site Two-Step and a calm, protected keiki beach perfect for small kids.
    Honaunau-Napoopoo Hawaii
  • Choice Mart

Their prices may not be the lowest in town, but the fish is the freshest and is caught locally. Try the Big Island Beef (melt-in-your-mouth) and dont forget the musubi. Sushi at the deli is good too!

  • Kona Historical Society

Living history museum that tells the story of the evolution of the coffee farms in the area. Authentic exhibits and beautiful scenery make this a great way to spend an afternoon.
Hawaii Belt Road Kealakekua HI 96750
  • Ke'ei Cafe

Charming space, delightful atmosphere, live music and delicious food make this a perfect spot for a romantic dinner. They feature local ingredients and cook them to perfection. Great cocktails, too!
    Mamalahoa Highway Kealakekua HI 96750
  • Island Naturals Mauka & Market Deli

This natural foods market is small but packs in a great selection of mainland and local brands (think mini-Whole Foods). Their prices can be high--but they carry lots that you cant get elsewhere.
    Mamalahoa Hwy Kealakekua HI 96750-7917
  • Gio's Gelato & Italian Pastry Shop

Gio himself hand-crafts the delightful gelato and bakes the more delicious pastries in this tiny shop. We love the vegan chocolate and cant get enough of his butter cookies--perfect after Annies!
Hawaii Belt Road Kealakekua HI 96750
  • Annie's Island Fresh Burgers

THE BEST onion rings you will ever have. Oh--and you may say that about their burgers, too. Local ingredients, large portions. The dining room is beautiful and they have a nice, open-air deck.
    Mamalahoa Hwy # 105 Kealakekua HI 96750
  • Sandy's Drive In

Good local food at a reasonable price. The Chicken Katsu is my favorite!
    Mamalahoa Highway Kealakekua HI 96750
  • Bianelli's Gourmet Pizza and Pasta

Great Chicago-style crust and good selection of toppings. They even have authentic deep-dish--and I should know...Im from Chicago ;-)
    Alii Drive Kailua-Kona HI 96740
  • Sam Choy's Kai Lanai

Big Islands own world-famous chef has chosen a great location--perfect for watching the sunsets. The food is inventive and the portions large. The bar also has great fire-pit seating.
