About This Listing
Clean, comfortable and affordable stay in mid-town Bend. Just minutes from the downtown scene, where you will find good food and lots of beer.
Sleeps two in a double bed.
Located in the middle of Bend Oregon, my house is a great base for exploring the city and beyond. Whether you'd like to take a hike up Pilot Butte, grab a local beer, take off to see Dillon Falls on the Deschutes River or ski Mt. Bachelor, it feels like you are only minutes away.
I open my home to you for your enjoyment during your stay in Bend. I have three bedrooms and one bathroom for guests.
The kitchen may be used by guests as well, ready with cookware and basic spices. Just bring your main ingredients to cook your own meals 'at home'. Of course, if you choose to eat out, there are many great choices 5 minutes to downtown. Deschutes Brewery, Silver Moon Brewery, Taj Palace, Brother Johns, or the classic Pine Tavern are all recommended choices.
Also living at the house is a cat named Marley, who is a very good greeter.
I cut custom lapidary sculpture and jewelry. Some of my pieces are found through out the house and they are for sale. I work with quartz primarily, cutting small pieces, hand held and pendants, and also have a collection of quartz lit up in light bases of old growth juniper. I work on pieces most days in my studio. Tours are available, so if you have a raw piece of stone that you've been wanting cut or polished, bring it in and lets see what can happen.
I look forward to meeting you and sharing my little piece of Bend. Cheers, Lee
Lee provided a quiet, positive space. Called me to make sure I had everything I needed, and was very kind. My 5 year old daughter loved the cat! I appreciated the location, as it is close to everything. There was a key safe on the front porch, and as it had become jammed she called to make sure I had gotten in safely.
Thank you, Lee for letting us stay in your home! I will recommend you.
This is a nice little house in Midtown Bend. I found my room exactly as described in the listing. The neighborhood seemed quiet and well maintained in the block the house is located on. I did not have the opportunity to meet the host in person, however her college age daughter was there and made me feel very welcome. I especially appreciated the additional effort to accommodate my early check-in request. For the price point, this listing is a very good value. I would recommend it to my friends and stay again.
We loved our stay at Lee Marie's house and would likely book with her again for future Bend excursions. Her space was very welcoming, and she had us check in with her personally when we arrived, which made us feel like we could let her know if we had any issues.
Neighborhood was great, and the walk to downtown was an easy mile!
Lee Marie's house is in a neat location -- we walked into town one night safely and easily -- and made for a fine two-night stay in Bend. Did not meet her till the 2nd day, and same for the other guests, but could come and go as we pleased throughout the time there. Thanks, Lee Marie!
she really let me do my own thing which made me feel like i owned the place was very relaxed and such an awesome location!!
The description of the room and property was accurate. The neighborhood was convenient to downtown amenities, easy parking, and felt very safe. The info that Lee emailed ahead of time was super helpful and made figuring things out really easy.
The house was super cool though with the artwork and eclectic decorations.
I read some reviews about noise travelling throughout, and I have to agree with those. The front door squeaks loudly, as do the floorboards, and strangely enough - so does the bed/frame in the room. This room is directly across from the bathroom, so you might wake up whenever someone visits the bathroom. Additionally, you can hear everything from the bedroom next door. There is about a 2" gap under each of the bedroom doors as well.

About the Host, Lee Marie
Hello, My name is Lee.
I am 46 years old, a business owner and a home owner and have lived in Bend for most of my life. I have a daughter, who has just moved into her own apartment here in Bend and a son, who is living in Tacoma and attending college. I have owned this house for the past 8 years and love the location in the middle of Bend. I have been a log home designer for the past 20 years, yet have embraced the change in economy and started up a new lapidary business in 2012. My studio is at my house and is open for tours. If you have a special rock or mineral that you've always wanted turned into a pendant or placed on a pedestal/light base, lets talk! I am also open to teaching workshops, allowing you to cut your own piece.
My interests are many. From creating community and volunteer work. I enjoy the connections made with others. I have been to Burning Man the past three years and feel it is having a larger impact on me, as I open up more to my own potential. I love my house and gardening and making improvements over time. Alot of satisfaction in making my home comfortable and I enjoying sharing it with others.
Looking forward to meeting you all. Cheers! Lee Marie Steckler
