Clean, comfortable and affordable stay in mid-town Bend. Just minutes from the downtown scene, where you will find good food and lots of beer.
Sleeps two in a double bed.
Located in the middle of Bend Oregon, my house is a great base for exploring the city and beyond. Whether you'd like to take a hike up Pilot Butte, grab a local beer, take off to see Dillon Falls on the Deschutes River or ski Mt. Bachelor, it feels like you are only minutes away.
I open my home to you for your enjoyment during your stay in Bend. I have three bedrooms and one bathroom for guests.
The kitchen may be used by guests as well, ready with cookware and basic spices. Just bring your main ingredients to cook your own meals 'at home'. Of course, if you choose to eat out, there are many great choices 5 minutes to downtown. Deschutes Brewery, Silver Moon Brewery, Taj Palace, Brother Johns, or the classic Pine Tavern are all recommended choices.
Also living at the house is a cat named Marley, who is a very good greeter.
I cut custom lapidary sculpture and jewelry. Some of my pieces are found through out the house and they are for sale. I work with quartz primarily, cutting small pieces, hand held and pendants, and also have a collection of quartz lit up in light bases of old growth juniper. I work on pieces most days in my studio. Tours are available, so if you have a raw piece of stone that you've been wanting cut or polished, bring it in and lets see what can happen.
I look forward to meeting you and sharing my little piece of Bend. Cheers, Lee
My stay at Lees was short but sweet. She met me the first day and showed me the ropes, and after that she left me alone. Her house is clean and tidy, and her kitty was a sweetie too (just a little feisty at times). Overall I had a nice stay.
Lee made me feel very welcome. Her home is warm, clean and welcoming. The bed was comfortable. Because there are several rooms rented out, it can be a busy home. I would not recommend it to anyone needing to get to sleep quite early for some reason, as the sound from the common area carries to the bedroom. There is also a shared bathroom which may not be to everyone's liking. I was unaware of a second bathroom option, if needed.
Nice quiet neighborhood. Good places to eat nearby, and downtown is just a 20 minute walk away.
I never got the chance to meet Lee Marie, but she was informative upon my arrival to her place. I can tell that there is a lot of turnover here, so I would recommend that travelers bring their own sheets and pillow cases or a sleeping bag.
Lee has a very cute and clean place that is convenient to much of what you want to do in Bend. We brought bikes, and the location was centrally located enough for us to really enjoy our short stay. Lee was responsive and accommodated a last minute booking, which was very nice. We also got to snuggle a very soft kitty in the morning.
We visited Bend for less than 24 hours and luckily stayed in Lee's cozy home :) We were super close to the downtown area which was very convenient. Overall great neighborhood, clean, and great communication with Lee. Thanks again!!

Hello, My name is Lee.
I am 46 years old, a business owner and a home owner and have lived in Bend for most of my life. I have a daughter, who has just moved into her own apartment here in Bend and a son, who is living in Tacoma and attending college. I have owned this house for the past 8 years and love the location in the middle of Bend. I have been a log home designer for the past 20 years, yet have embraced the change in economy and started up a new lapidary business in 2012. My studio is at my house and is open for tours. If you have a special rock or mineral that you've always wanted turned into a pendant or placed on a pedestal/light base, lets talk! I am also open to teaching workshops, allowing you to cut your own piece.
My interests are many. From creating community and volunteer work. I enjoy the connections made with others. I have been to Burning Man the past three years and feel it is having a larger impact on me, as I open up more to my own potential. I love my house and gardening and making improvements over time. Alot of satisfaction in making my home comfortable and I enjoying sharing it with others.
Looking forward to meeting you all. Cheers! Lee Marie Steckler
