  • Had a lovely stay at Bridge House. The location, next to the roaring river, is impressive and the house is charming. Friendly hosts with an even friendlier dog!

  • Alex and Andrew were a very kind host. The house is very nice and clean. They gave us some useful tips about the area around the lake district. We would for sure recomend their place for the Airbnb users.

  • Andrew and Alex are a lovely couple who made us feel very welcome at their cosy cottage in the Lake District. It was great to chat to them in the evenings and they were incredibly helpful both before and during our visit whether it was recommending a taxi firm, giving us tips on where to eat or lending us maps and head torches (the latter being for our walk to the pub!). The village - Backbarrow - is ideally located for many of the major attractions and walks including Windermere and there is a good pub which serves traditional food and ales just a short walk away. A special mention must also go to Basil the black Labrador who was a sweetheart. We're looking forward to making a return visit!

  • Alex and Andrew were very helpful and friendly hosts and we were absolutely delighted by their cosy cottage, in a beautiful setting by the river. Their dog, Basil, was adorable and gave us the friendliest welcome. We'd definitely recommend the cottage to anyone considering staying there. Thanks!

  • My friend and i are 2 young Singaporean girls seeking a quiet adventure in the Lakeside.

Andrew and Alex share a wonderful house with their brilliantly friendly dog, Basil.

Their cosy Bridge House is within Back Barrow and right in front of an amazing white water view.

They showed us warmth and hospitality with their cosy fireplace, gentle personalities and quaint house.

The room is perfect with stone slade walls and a window to the river. A wonderful getaway from the city and amazing location by the powerful river.

Our adventure was blogged here too :

  • Amazingly located right by the river and near interesting places like Lakeside (the hotel serves good food!) and the train, and also not far from Windermere town. The house felt full of character esp with the quaint stone wall in the room!
