My friend and I were greeted at the door by his adorable sweet dog, Janna. I'm a huge dog lover so this was a big bonus to have a furry friend in the house. The room was super cozy and has a bathroom attached so we had everything we needed. The location is perfect! Its quiet, and walking distance to some really great restaurants. It rained while we were there which made it even more cozy! I would definitely stay here again.
This was our first AirBnb experience and it was great! Check in/out was very simple. You are located in a great area, a block from Division and easy access to public transportation. I met the house dog, Jana, on our first day. She is the sweetest and as Larry describes her "a sensitive soul." Jana deserves every pet you're willing to give. The room was lovely. We had a few pleasant interactions with Larry. Everyone kept to themselves and respected one another. I would definitely stay here again!
Staying in Portland at Larry's home was ideal! Checking in and out was very easy. The room and bathroom were very clean, comfortable and fully stocked with towels/hair dryer, etc. The house is in a wonderful location, my favorite part of Portland. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. Thanks, Larry for your hospitality!
We had a great experience in Portland and Larry's hospitality helped to make it so. The room was as seen in the photo's. The third floor common space was peaceful and relaxing. Since leaving we've missed the pastry's and fruit that we enjoyed there every morning. The house pet, Jana, was a friendly, welcoming presence. Even though it was unusually hot in Portland during our stay, Larry made thoughtful accommodations to help lessen the impact of the heat. The convenience of close food establishments and public transportation helped us to explore great locations near and far.
We had a great time staying in Larry's beautiful home. It is in a perfect spot just one block from division street and also close to the popular Hawthorne neighboorhood. We enjoyed the coffee and tea in the very nice living area on the 3rd floor.
Awesome location! Right next to division and Hawthorne which have really cool restaurants and local spots. Quiet sleeping area and wonderful host.
My wife and I really loved our stay at Larry's place. The house and room are as clean and beautiful as the day they were renovated. And as other guests have written, Janna the house dog is adorable and sweet. The house is located on Clinton street which is just a block away from Division Street where we found great shops and restaurants. It's also right on the four (bus) line which we didn't take, but would get you across the river to visit downtown. Coordinating with Larry was super easy and he responded to all of my text messages within minutes. I also really enjoyed having the lounge space on the third floor with the coffee station where I could read, relax, and meet a couple of the other guests. This was my first airbnb experience and it was a wholly positive one.

About the Host, Larry
I was born and raised in Portland. I love to hunt for wild mushrooms and occasionally go fishing for steelhead in the local streams. In 1998 I started deconstructing the single story house my grandmother had owned, and then over the next five years, rebuilt it as a three-story. I am self-employed as a licensed general contractor/handyman. In my spare time I play classical guitar, and am learning how to tune pianos.
