Staying here was such a wonderful experience I can't even find the words to describe it. I stayed for a month, my first month after moving to Rio. I felt at home, maybe with even more freedom than in my own home, due to the closeness to the nature and Ana's good spirit. The house is surrounded by the most beautiful trees, you can hear the birds singing a lot, which is magical. The window that looks out on Corcovado -- oh, how lovely! The breakfast though... the breakfast is out of this world! All the types of bread, the most delicious homemade yogurt, oh my! I have no complaints at all, my experience was just perfect :) If you're coming to Rio, make sure to stay here, or at least come for saturday's open breakfast, you won't regret it!

We had an excellent stay with "mother" Ana during the Olympics. She has a very nice place in Santa Teresa. Her hospitality is overwhelming and her breakfast is very nice!! Always willing to help you out in the most beautiful city of the world. Also quick responding on your question before the booking. Thanks again, Ana. We already miss you❤️

Lovely peaceful place quite far away from the hectic downtown and beach life. It was amazing to wake up in the middle of the tropical garden, watching and listening to birds and seeing the great Cristo from the window. Ana was very helpful and nice and the pastries and cakes for the breakfast were fresh indeed. The only downside - which can be a good thing as well - is the distance, which however is very quickly covered by taxis.

Ana is very attentive, kind and provides an excellent breakfast. The apartment is large and conveniently located (15mins to Largo do Marchado by bus, close to the Christ statue).

Honestly, pictures do not do this place justice. Not only were my boyfriend and I pleased with our experience and stay with Ana in her home, but every expectation was exceeded in every possible manner. We didn't want to leave. To start, you are staying in the company of Ana and her wonderful family. We met two of her children, Maria and Joao, both of whom were friendly, knew a lot of English, and were fun to chat with. Ana herself is really the best kind of person you'll meet: eager to help without being overbearing, knowledgeable, a fantastic baker, and very kind and generous. She made our stay 10 times better just by being a great person, and we were sad to leave because we would love to be friends with her and see her all the time!! I encourage you to chat with her and get to know her! The place was GORGEOUS! Beyond gorgeous! We entered the gate to get in and you're welcomed into a tropical paradise! The trees, greenery, flowers...there are monkeys and toucans in the trees, and Ana has a wonderful old cat that's just too cute! You can lounge in the hammock and take it all in, or you could go to your room just to stare out the window at all of the nature! Don't forget that you'll also be able to see Christ the Redeemer from your window, and great views of a local favela! We felt so safe in Ana's place, and loved that it was in the charming neighbourhood of Santa Teresa. You are among some amazing artisans and artists in the neighbourhood and it really is a great feeling. Ana herself is an artisan of baking fine breads, and will supply you with a first class breakfast during your stay. Be prepared to feast like a queen/king on fresh baked breads, homemade granola and yoghurt, fresh squeezed juices, tropical fruit, and meats and cheeses. We were in heaven! Please, for a local experience you will never, ever forget, go to Ana's!!! Book it now!!! :o)

A green oasis up on a hill above Santa Teresa. Once you get your head around the buses it's not hard to get around Rio from there.

Ana was an amazing host. Our room was perfect with an awesome view of the mountain range along with the Christ the Redeemer statue. The breakfast that was provided every morning was probably one of the most energizing meals I've ever had. The juice was freshly made, the bread was made from her bakery, and the other items were all delicious. Even though it took about 40 minutes to travel to the beach (by public transportation), staying here was well worth it. I definitely recommend staying here.

I'm a baker. I make and sell breads, cakes and other produts in my house, where I live with 2 sons and a daughter. On Sundays my house is open for people for breakfast.
I like music very much and I sing in chorus.
Twice a week I go to Pilates to make exercises.
I like to receive people from many places of the word in my house. I think it's a great oportunity to know people.
I hope we have a good time together.
