Such a great experience at Amelia's flat! My husband and I stayed for about 12 days, and leading up to our stay, Amelia was super helpful, answered all of our questions, and was so friendly. We arrived late due to some flight cancellations, and Amelia could not have been more understanding. Her flat was adorable -- the perfect size for the 2 of us, with a fully functional kitchen suitable for cooking meals, and a separate bedroom that was very comfortable. The neighborhood was precisely what we wanted -- busy and fun, but away from touristy areas of the city. The pub down the street was fantastic, we spent way too much time there! Transportation to/from the city could not have been simpler -- we got everywhere we wanted to go via the bus that stopped outside the flat (20-30 mins to most of the sightseeing spots) or the tube that was a 5-10 minute walk (also about 20 minute ride). Amelia's flat really was the perfect home base. I would book it again in a heartbeat!
We live in equally-busy-Chicago, so it didn't bother us, but others might be sensitive to the street noise on the main road that runs outside the flat.
The apartment is quite small but has everything you need.
The location is great cause you're 10 min in bus to Big Ben with the bus stop right out the apt.
The neighborhood may be not the most beautiful but it is quiet and you have everything nearby.
Hey, we have just arrived from London it was our second time there and we stayed again at Amelia's flat.
You can be absolutely sure this place quite accords with the description. The best flat for people who is looking for a suitable location, comfortable conditions and great atmosphere to discover London for you.
I was a guest in Amelia's apartment for a month while I worked on a project in the city, everything went smooth and there were no issues. Amalia is an excellent and welcoming host and she explained everything about her apartment and the neighborhood beforehand.
The apartment is small, but it was clean and has everything you need (living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom), although I have to say I started to miss my dishwasher and microwave. (The kitchen has a great oven though).
The location is excellent, there is a bus stop in front of the house and a 10 minute walk to the subway (stockwell). The only downside is the road in front of the apartment (Brixton Road) is a very busy road and there is traffic noise during the night. Having said that, I didn't have any trouble sleeping!
I would recommend Amelia's place to anyone staying for a few days or a few weeks in London!.
We enjoyed our time at Amelia's place, she is a friendly and sweet woman and the flat is just perfect!!! (cozy, clean, comfortable)
Bus to Oxford Circus just a few steps from the building and metro station 10 minutes walk, also perfect for budget travellers because there's a supermarket close.
We definitely recommend Amelia's place!!
Amelia's flat is so pretty! You'll find here a lot of features that are really cool in addition to heating, kitchen, wi-fi and useful advice from Amelia.
Moreover it'(email hidden) to start your researching of London because the bus stop is placed in 10 seconds from the house just go to the bus N159 and travel again and again!
Speaking about the area we can say that Brixton rules!
So we're glad to stay here in future and recommend to do it to everyone who is seeking the best place to open London for yourself.
Amelia's flat was very conveniently located for my visit, close to Clapham Junction and other major travel connections. The flat was small but was fine for my short stay. Nice and clean with all the amenities required. Thanks to Amelia (her detailed help list) and her friends for prompt and friendly assistance with my visit. Everything went smoothly.
Amelia's flat is small. But if you're prepared for that, you're find it great. We flew to London via LA from New Zealand, so very tired when we arrived. Amelia had a friend waiting for us at the flat with keys and instructions etc. The flat was very easy to find. We did not need to contact her or her other contacts she had left for us as her instructions re the flat were great. Brixton is not the best part of London, but very central and you're in the West End or City in half hour on bus. Quicker on tube, but the bus system is great in London and you get to see where you're going. Would stay again
Amelia and her friends were amazing! Always responding to emails within a day or so (even from India!) and making sure we had everything we needed to find the flat and get settled. The flat itself is a great little base, well situated to explore London (If you're visiting, do yourself a favour and grab the 159 bus from right outside the flat. It takes in all the major sites and drops you off right at Oxford Circus!). The flat is small and if you don't plan on cooking every night, like we did, it is perfect for two. 10/10 would definitely stay again if we needed to. THANKS!
Amelia is quite possibly the perfect host! From the outset, she was very communicative, so we always knew what was going on. Her sister met us at the apartment at the arranged time and showed us the place. Amelia also left a sheet of instructions for various things (like the WiFi), which was very useful. And although we had no need to contact her during our stay, I'm sure if we needed anything, she would have sorted any issues out immediately.
The apartment is small, but perfect for two people, and fully equipped with everything you could need. It's warm, clean and comfortable (for those traveling in winter), and is close to a number of tube stations.
All in all I could not recommend Amelia (or her place) more highly!
