The Space

The guest room is on the first floor of our home which has several split levels to isolate bedrooms for extra privacy. This bedroom has a queen bed, closet, a Chester drawer, a full size sofa, LCD television, WiFi, a deck with rocking recliner to smoke or watch the sunset over the marsh. A couple of Adirondack chairs on the lawn as well.

The bathroom is located in the hallway, next to the bedroom. It is not a private bath from the bedroom, but since there are four (4) full bathrooms in the house, it will almost likely not be used by anyone else.

An ample supply of bath towels, hand towels and washcloths are provided as well as clean sheets for the bed. You will find a hair dryer, Q tips, cotton balls, shampoo (email hidden) of soap to use. Please consider bringing your own stuff if you are ultra sensitive or have special requirements.

We even have extra sheets if you need to use the sofa for that third person or if two people would prefer to sleep separate. It is NOT a sofa bed, but a good size couch by Ethan Allen.

Rates are low as $69.00 per night. Click on the CALENDAR TAB above for the exact availability and rates based on day of the week and season. Please do not ask for discounts.
Two (2) Night Minimum - However, we will accept a one (1) night minimum stay for an added surcharge of $40+/- per night. Please send message requesting a one (1) night reservation and I will send you the rate and booking option.
Three (3) night minimum stays for the following holidays; Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day weekends.

We have another bedroom in the house with a private bathroom and large walk-in closet available for the same rate on the second floor for privacy. See our listing on AIRBNB.

If your group is particular large, we do have an office on the third floor for more privacy. The office has a futon and an adjacent full bathroom for extra guests.

With four full baths in the house, we don't usually have to share. Let us know if you need to accommodate more people for your upcoming stay. The futon works great for a single person or two small people.

The house has two gas fireplaces on the inside and one outside wood burning fireplace with a large screened in porch. Great for eating and looking over the marsh and bay while watching wildlife.

The house is rather large, 4,300 square feet and can accommodate larger groups comfortably if you want or need to rent more rooms for bigger gatherings. We would also consider renting the entire house out by the week. If interested, send us a request.

Guest Access

We encourage our guests to make themselves at home. We do not have a curfew but we do ask that if you are going to be up late to be respectful.
The first floor is the library and/or living room. We call it a library because of the book cases, but there are pocket doors for added privacy if necessary and you just want to spend some time in different rooms reading or whatever.

The rest of the house; there is a large great room which includes the dining room, kitchen and living room with gas fireplace and awesome views of the Rehoboth Bay and marshlands. The large counter and/or bar seats four people easily and this room opens up to a large screened in porch with a wood burning fireplace for outside eating and resting. There is an outside deck for getting a little sun or grilling.

For breakfast, help yourself to cereal, oatmeal, bread, fruit, juice, coffee, tea, or whatever you might be able to find in the way of breakfast. Everyone gets up at different times so help yourself or not. We will show you where the items are and you can feel comfortable to help yourself as if you were home. We encourage you to make yourself feel at home. We can suggest restaurants and which ones have deals going on and shopping.

Interaction with Guests

Since we require all guests to be 21 years of age or older we will occasionally have some libation at home. The house is very nice for entertaining and we encourage guests to hang out if they like. If not, there are plenty of places throughout the house to hideout.

The Neighborhood

The house sits near the Rehoboth Bay and we are surrounded by marshlands. There are lots of deer, rabbits, squirrels, foxes, heron and of course our beloved osprey that mate every year to look at.

We are one (1) mile from Route 1 and about two (2) miles from the Rehoboth boardwalk and beaches. Close enough to town for fun, but far enough away to rest easily.

Getting around

You can drive, use your bicycles or rent them from businesses in town. You can also walk if your ambitious.
There is public transit throughout the area but the closest stop is just over a mile away. Taxi cabs in the area are very affordable and charge about $8.00 to drive into town from our home. They will even pick you up and bring you back at all hours of the night.

Other Things to Note

Must be 21 years of age to stay with us.

  • Our experience was just what we hoped for: a relaxing room and house with a tranquil view of the marshlands and bay, and with easy access to the town of Rehoboth and Cape Henlopen State Park via bike or car. We felt comfortable using the deck, kitchen, and TV area (great for World Cup viewing!) in Randy's beautiful and comfortable house. He offered enough interaction but tons of privacy as well--a perfect balance. Randy was helpful in guiding us to the best restaurants and bike trails, had coffee ready for us each morning, had breakfast foods stocked, and offered binoculars for watching the ospreys nesting nearby and blue herons nesting in the distant pines. A dreamy getaway!

  • This was my first airbnb experience, and Randy & Bill were great! They helped accommodate an early check-in for us,(which wasn't expected, but was a good surprise) and were pleasant to stay with. The room and bathroom were clean and just as advertised, and the house was awesome. Would definitely recommend staying with them if you are considering it.

  • A gorgeous house in an idyllic setting, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The bedroom was very comfortable, and I loved reading on the deck outside and watching the birds, bunnies and turtle! Randy was an excellent host--very welcoming, yet not overly familiar, so I felt no pressure to behave in any given way. It turned out he was gone most of the time I was there, so I virtually had the whole house to myself--occasionally accompanied by Zoey the dog, who is a real cutie pie.

  • Randy, Bill and Zoey are engaging hosts. The accomodations are above average, even for Rehoboth. Besides the room with private bath which has an excellent view, the common areas are expansive and relaxing. This was our second stay here and will be the only place we stay when visiting this seaside town. We just wish we could get out there more often.

Thanks for letting us stay in your beautiful home!

  • Ben and I had a wonderfully relaxing stay at Randy and Bill's! They have an incredibly beautiful home and we felt comfortable and welcome any place in the house. Our favorite part was listening to the many birds on the screened porch in the morning-so peaceful. We were able to ride our bikes into town and the beach very easily but were glad to come back to their serene location. We will very enthusiastically stay here again!! You will love it!

  • Randy, Bill and Zoey were wonderful hosts and their place is beyond beautiful. Stop, don't think, sign up for a nice long stay. You won't regret it! This is like staying at a nice resort that is a private home run by a friendly, relaxed family. It's private, quiet, spacious, and post card pretty. I can't wait to go back.

  • Thank you Randy and Bill for hosting me on a very short notice...
Absolutely gorgeous house, very secluded and relaxing. I was looking for a retreat place where I could feel comfortable, that was it: quiet and private!
My hosts were amicable, respectful and being there during the week days, I had to say I did not see them a lot and got the whole house for myself, which I loved...
Breakfast on the deck watching the nature was a must for me.
I would come back with pleasure. My best. Dominique

  • My experience at Reed's Vista was even better than I could have imagined. My partner and I stayed in the Guest Room on the bottom level with the Queen Bed, Sofa and TV. It was gorgeous. The room was immaculately decorated, clean, and we had a beautiful view of the marsh through our windows. Randy and his partner Bill couldn't have been better hosts. Randy provided us with a lot of helpful information about bars, restaurants, and destinations to visit while we were in Rehoboth. They also made us feel at home with fresh bagels, fruit and coffee every morning and I was very happy to share a breakfast with them the morning before check-out. I really wish we could have stayed longer.

  • We recently had the good fortune to spend "spring break" at Randy's home in Rehoboth Beach. We were treated to a luxurious stay in this exquisite house that is elegant and comfortable. It was especially nice to relax in the casual atmosphere while getting to know our hosts and their friends. We felt very welcomed and enjoyed everything about our stay.
Even though we were located just minutes from the outlets and the beaches we felt secluded from the rest of the world. There are many things to do without going very far. We were content to relax at the house but ventured out and enjoyed great bike rides and eating at some of the local restaurants.
It was incredible to wake up in the morning to views of nature at it's finest. Located near the marshes off Rehoboth Bay we saw nesting ospreys, egrets and herons, it's truly a photographers paradise. In the evening, as we watched the sunset from the beautiful screened in porch we only wished we could stay longer.

It appears that we might have missed our calling in life. Maybe we should have been in the hospitality business all of these years. Since we found and started using AIRBNB in the Spring of 2011 we have to say that we are the lucky ones to have had the opportunity to be able to host and meet such amazing people. My partner and I have a home that is larger than we actually use and after friends of ours decided to use this type of service to locate a flat for their vacation to Paris, I started my research on what this was all about. After finding AIRBNB, we decided that this was something that we could consider since we enjoy traveling and especially meeting new people from all around. I hope that after you read this short bio/profile that you will read through the 200 plus reviews or at least some of them from the many guests and new friends we have met along this short journey. Not only do these reviews tell the complete story of how AIRBNB works in a way that no manual can, but what you can actually expect while you are visiting with us in our home, Reeds Vista. Once you understand that we are not a hotel, motel or bed and breakfast and that you are visiting us in our home, you will realize that we actually treat our guests as if they are dear friends visiting. We encourage our guest to enjoy full use of our home as if it was their own home for the time that you are staying with us. We have accepted many reservations from other like-minded individuals and what we have discovered along this journey is that to even consider sharing a room in someones home, that you don't know, takes courage and an ability to be a little bit adventurousness along with a willingness for living life to its fullest. These are the kind of people we enjoy hosting and getting to know. We have declined some reservation requests because in life, not everyone is meant to click and we believe it is better to uncover that early on before anyone reaches the front door. It isn't personal when we decide to decline a reservation it is just that we strive to have individuals in our home that share some of the best shared qualities of being a human. Upon starting the dialogue, we will know pretty soon if we are a match. We also understand and appreciate that fact that there are many different personalities and that each guest is unique; some of you may wish to be left alone and some may wish to enjoy sharing a glass of wine and chatting. Either way is cool with us and the house is spacious enough to not feel trapped with one another. We hold our judgments until after you leave (just kidding) so hold yours at bay too. :) If you are interested in a comfortable stay with a couple of easy going guys and a dog that will love on you, check out our listing and shoot us an email on this site to discuss why you are seeking a stay at Reeds Vista. We can also assist in finding you discounts at local restaurants and steer you to the best beaches around.
